- My final thoughts on 20 bottles of whisky! (Might be a few more in here!) Would I buy these again or is this the last time I spend money on them. I was inspired to shoot this series by Roy at Aqvavitae who does these amazing Recycle Reviews. Have you had any of these bottles? What are your thoughts? #journeysend #whiskytube #whiskyneighbour

Always look forward to these Jon! Thanks for your thoughts!
Fun to shoot and remember each. Cheers!
Holy schmolley, that's one HUGE whack of information packed into a short amount of time. Fastest twenty minutes I've spent in I can't say how long! What a fantastic run through.
My collection has pretty much reached critical mass. I would dearly love to clear bottles, especially those that haven't grabbed my attention or were regret purchases. I've a few friends who enjoy a dram, but we don't see them enough to make much of a dent in the stash. And there's no local whisky clubs that I've been able to find. I so appreciate the online interaction. The fact that you take the time to connect, to share your thoughts and enthusiasm, means a great deal more than you may realize.
Great to see this pop up mid week! 😁

It has been a highlight this year to connect with you, hear of your whisky and book Journeys, and to just share ideas. Thankfully I am making a few more whisky friends locally as well, to share some drams or samples with, as the collection is building! Cheers to sharing the journey!
I love these types of videos. I was just about to ask you the other day when I commented on your video Saturday if you were going to do a recycled review soon:) Glad I was patient and fought the impulse to bug you about it.
Happy to be reminded too! I hope some thoughts were helpful here. Cheers!
Love these "would I buy it again" videos. Thanks John.
Thanks! They are fun to shoot too!
Awesome video Jon! You've got the Reifel Rye right as far as I understand it's 91% malted rye, 6% Old Grand Dad Bourbon and 3% Sherry. And I'm exactly the same way with my whisky, if I love it I'm more precious woth it and it'll stick around longer. Cheers neighbour 🥃
Thanks for dropping in Matt. I hope you have a nice dram to celebrate International Whisky Day!
Great format! Lots of great info in a quick video. Thanks, whisky neighbor.
Glad you enjoyed it! They are fun to shoot too. Cheers!
A kind whisky friend gave me a healthy sample of that Cairdeas PX and I agree it was fantastic! I think the Laphroaig character lends itself really well to dark sherry notes.
Glad you have had the opportunity to enjoy this too!
My first Frog 🐸 was on my birthday, 2020 (or 2021?) Càirdeas Triple Wood: where my brother's friend brought over his bottle & we Triple dram bottle killed it... talk about a HIGH bar to begin with!!!
@@Ben_Demon_Hunter sounds like an amazing night!!
Very interesting comment about okay bottles going down faster for you. For me, it’s more the opposite, bottles I prefer go empty faster and the ones I like less stay longer one the shelf. Happy Easter weekend! Take care.
It can change, but that is where I am right now. I hope you enjoy the weekend too!
A very good quick whiskey review. Very much look forward to these reviews.
Thank you, I hope they help.
great recommendations!!
Thanks Jason!
WOW! So many bottles, but … with some great information. Thanks Jon. The 3 that you ended with are ones I would keep my eyes peeled for. As it happens, I cracked the 2022 Cairdeas (ex-bourbon barrels) and was really impressed. I have ordered the 2023, which is matured in maderia and white port that I have really heard good things about. Looking forward to that one. Cheers!
I hope the 2023 does not disappoint!
Great video, Jon, I love how you takes us in your journey every time & this 20/20 formula works great imho (& yeah I'm still p... off not to find more Canadian Ryes distributed here). Cheers ! PS I vote for Benromach CS peated & sherried (the reduced 10 yo is nice too)
Glad you could drop in. Tough to really do justice to the whisky, but it's fun to talk overall thoughts. Certainly keeps moving. Hopefully more rye will come your way. I will need to find the CS peated & sherried, I imagine it is excellent. Cheers!
If I had to buy ONE.....pulls out three. Enjoyable video. I'm looking to try the 20+ year pike creek but I haven't seen it around only the 12 year old.
Lol! Glad you enjoyed it. Sure fun to shoot! I hope you find an older Pike Creek. Cheers!
Great rundown of 20 bottles Jon. Some winners some not so much. You definitely learn a lot going through bottles and also as your palate evolves and as you gain more experience with whiskies. It's good at the end of the day as you become more knowledgeable regarding which ones are winners and which ones are dud.
A fun journey for sure. I know my palate has certainly evolved. Thanks for dropping in, cheers!
Great video. Lots of fun to reminisce. I also love the Cairdeas and the GlenAllachies. Cheers 🥃
Always fun to shoot! Cheers!
I’m exactly the same with good vs not so good whiskeys but I need to change that! I’ll power through ones that I don’t really like yet save one I love but sometimes you go back to it 6 or so months later and it just doesn’t hit the spot the same. It’s a bad habit, cheers 🥃
The I think the solution is to buy better whisky! Then they are all good!
I'm the same way with bottles... if I love a whisky it lasts 3 years. If I like it, a year. If I hate it, 2 months. 😅
LOL! Yep, makes those special occasions much better!
like your channel, but please learn to pronounce Cairdeas correctly. Thanks.
Sounds like a plan. Thanks!
