Thanks for the review. I really enjoyed the Triple Mash and commented as such in your review of it. I still haven’t tried the Bonded. Based on your review, I will still pick up the Bonded, but won’t make a special trip for it. I don’t enjoy JD as a general rule but did truly enjoy the Triple Mash. Thanks for the comment about the people you work with. I am retired now but worked with people my entire life. I was privileged to have worked with some truly exceptional people over the years. You should definitely relish the people that enrich your life. Cheers amigo!

Wow only 43$ whereas in my market (Québec) the regular Jack Old No 7 is 36.75$ ..! The one Jack I’m curious to try right now is their Rye! Cheers

To be fair, this was $52 at another store, so prices vary a lot. I hope you get a chance to try their Rye

Hi, I have a bottle JD Bottled in Bond over here in the Netherlands and I like it a lot.
Is JD Bonded something completely different then JD Bottled in Bond or are they the same?
After decades of drinking only Scotch i'm since a year totally into bourbon and tennessee whisky, I'm trying out a lot of them. I still enjoy scotch, but many bourbons are very nice.

This is there Bottled in Bond. I just shortened it for the title. Sorry! Glad you enjoy it, and are have a good journey through Bourbon and whiskey! Cheers!

Haven't seen this here yet. I will get one for sure. I'm not into many whiskies anymore. I've been sticking to my tried and true favorites...all simple and sweet. I enjoy the single barrels but a standard Jack at this proof is just what the Dr ordered. Old no7 at 80 proof doesn't excite me.

Original JD is all about the marketing and quantity over quality. For those of us that like to nerd out on whiskey we need to go to the none standard Jacks like these. Thanks for the review. :)

Agreed. For me, the Triple Mash is still better, but both are better!

Cheers and nice review as always that's a heck of a deal for the bond that you got still haven't been able to find it down here but recently got the privilege of trying Jack Daniel's single barrel proof and if you ever come across it I highly recommend picking up it is nothing like any other Jack Daniel's product I've ever had as I'm not typically a fan but the barrel proof really brings out more of those banana notes that you got in the bonded and the mouth feel is beyond compare!

I haven’t touched bourbon in quite a while, I just think it lacks so much of what UK Irish whiskey can offer and don’t feel the same love for it, although angels envy and some peated releases have my attention but they’re pricey where I am. However, I still watch your bourbon reviews as I think you articulate your opinions and review the whiskies so well that they’re still a must watch for me and there’s been some I’ve tried to buy after your reviews but they’re not available in my region! 😫 I know some people adore bourbon, I just can’t grasp it, thanks for another fantastic review

@@WhiskyNeighbour ah spot on I totally agree although I’m waiting on a lot of the new stuff to get a bit older first, for some reason I don’t seem to enjoy the average NAS Irish as much as a scotch but once they break 8-10 years I find so many of them incredible and I love that Irish whiskey is now experimenting a lot more with different casks and getting peated too, exciting times ahead!

Interesting review, Jon. The "Bonded" has landed here in France a few weeks ago apparently at around 42 €, so fair price if it is a bit more aged + higher abv, but I listening to your notes, I wonder if it is better than the "Single barrel" at 45 % or not ? Or just different...The "Triple Mash" sounds more to my liking in theory (you know I'm a Rye fan), but you'll never know. I like the core range JD Rye, btw, great value imho. Great review & always done with a good mood, which is highly enjoyable 👍Cheers ! 🥃

Thanks for the kind words. It has been some time since I have had a single barrel JD. I recall enjoying that, possibly a little more, but memory is a poor guide! I ha e want to track down a Barrel Proof, single cask Rye for some time. No luck yet. Cheers!
