    This camera is a photographers camera, I for one am not interested in a video option. There are so many hybrid cameras now that we can use for video should we need them. This camera will slow down the process for taking great pictures.

      At least they need a video body to to be competitive in the medium format world, or else Fuji going to remove Hasselblad from their own garden, Hasselblad basically have just one practical body now, that is hard especially their limited lens lineup and availability!

    Fully agree with you on the lack of monochrome preview, that would be really nice to have. High ISO I don't see a problem and I love the 28 for it's size and weight.
    I have a recommendation: I got the Markins L-bracket and use just the base plate part for the X2D. Since it is specifically fitting the camera there is no chance for it to twist itself loose and it has a hole for a strap / handstrap as well. I also don't like the feel of the peak design plates in hand.

    • @WILMORENO
      @WILMORENO  9 месяцев назад

      size and weight of the 28 are great -- those L brackets look pretty solid. I took the peak design plate off of my gfx100 grip. It was definitely getting in the way. Thanks for your comment/insight.

    Owned the Fuji 50s, 50R, 100 and briefly the 100s (first version) and I can def attest that ALL of them had hot pixels. The 100 which was $10K had the most. I went through 3 bodies before I realized (and was told by a senior camera tech) that its a pretty normal thing and that you'll see them on your sensors more the higher the MP and larger the sensor is.

    • @WILMORENO

      I got a gfx100ii, I see zero dead pixels on the screen on the back. Sometimes in the files I'll see one. But flipping through my x2d there were multiple white spots burned on the lcd, all 3 bodies. Happy with the fuji :)

  • @patrickmolloy6994
    @patrickmolloy6994 8 месяцев назад +3

    you can run a calibration on start up to sort out those hot pixels. My lenses are rock solid steady. Live View is now enabled on the app - mobile and Mac following the last firmware update 3.1.0.

      I ended up getting another X2D. This was my 5th body overall. No burned out pixels on the screen and now the lens is rock solid.

  • @Some-guy-you-dont-know
    @Some-guy-you-dont-know 9 месяцев назад +4

    You went through 3 bodies and still had to settle for one with hot pixels. I bought an X1DII that had the lens mount problem. It took me weeks to figure out that it was causing the camera to lock up. Sometimes the lens would rotate enough to cause the pins to lose contact with the body. On top of that, using i-TTL mode with remote flash didn't work. There'd be a 5 second delay before it took the picture... and then the camera would lock up. Add in barely usable autofocus and the fact that images from my old DSLR held their own against the Hasselblad, and the excuses outweighed the benefits. I returned mine as well.

    • @WILMORENO
      @WILMORENO  9 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah man, burned 3 times in a row...I was initially going to get a X1DII to save some cash. But supposedly the 2XD was much faster and ready to rock. I guess since Hasselblad is now owned by DJI we can't expect the same greatness from those legendary 500 bodies. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for the review, specially the cons. That definitely shouldn’t be at that price tag. That lens play is not very trustworthy, lots of others also reporting that. I‘m shooting Nikon D850 and D6 and with a Leica SL2-S and independent of F-mount or L-mount using Lumix or Leica lenses, all fit perfectly firm. The ugly sun stars l suspect to be a general problem of mirrorless cameras because the AF sensors are also on the photo sensor. No such problems with DSLR.

    • @WILMORENO
      @WILMORENO  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks for your comment. Apparently, tons of shooters have a little play in their lenses. A slight rotational isn't a problem. Wobble would be since it'd affect focus. D850 is fantastic. I found on my leica m11, the voightlanders fit the tightest. It's almost too tight. Some people with very tight lenses reported metal shavings in the body. I suppose ignorance remains bliss. Thanks for your comments

    Here's a tip for you.... Try a Fusion Arca Plate with the fold down loop and a Black Rapid Wrist Strap. All my cameras have Arca Fusion Plates and I have about 3 Black Rapid Wrist straps which have the Carabiner to connect to the fold down loop on the plate. That combo will easily support over 100lbs... That whimpy Peak Design plate... Really? You would trust that with your Hasselblad? I wouldn't trust that plate with a point & shoot.

    you don't get the compression of 80mm while having a 63mm angle of view. that's a myth. compression is directly related to distance to the subject

    I too was surprised by the amount of play there was with the lens mounted. My X1Dii is firm, and my X2D doesn't have as much play as you're describing but it's definitely there. I also noticed that the X2D seems to add more force to the leaf shutters??? The 45P is near silent when on my X1Dii. Then on the X2D it's actually fairly audible and I can feel the shutter actuating. Same thing with the 35-75, 30, 90 and 135. Any sound and vibration is much more noticeable. I have no idea what's going on with that.
    I haven't noticed any hot pixels on mine.
    All-in-all, I feel like quality took a dip on the X2D. It's still an incredible camera but it does make me scratch my head a bit.

    • @WILMORENO
      @WILMORENO  9 месяцев назад

      It did seem pretty loud on those XCD lenses I tested. Sadly, my rebel t4i had superior quality control when it came to lens mounting lol. Glad you have no hot pixels, that was really hard to accept. At least the X2D still wins any camera body beauty contest.

    • @rolandrickphotography
      @rolandrickphotography 7 месяцев назад

      It’s such a pity they have those avoidable quality issues on the X2D. The image stabilisation is superb, the HNCS (Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution) mind blowing. Well, looks like there is a difference between Swedish and Chinese quality standards. Please don’t get it wrong. Were I live, leading companies are also sold to Chinese investors. Then a clash of cultures happens and a year later Swiss companies leading the market goes off business.

    The 80mm on X2d will give the same exact compression as a 63mm lens on a fullframe camera. Because compression is purely dependent on camera to subject distance. Test it. Use a 65mm Sigma for a Sony fullframe camera and compare it with the 80mm on X2D.

    Yeah man, nice points, I keep say Hasselblad need to innovate more, put video into the XD body or make a new body with video to make their lens lineup attractive for video shooter too, they can't just have one practical body and limited lens and expect to stay in business for long when their supposed to be high quality control isn't that great, what they theoretically is is not same in reality and with that speed, Fuji medium format going to take a bug chunk of what Hasselblad was always about, but these fanboys on Facebook group can't see it from business side, shame!

    I actually have the x2d with the 55. (I’m looking at the 90 as well). I sold my Nikon Z equipment for the GFX 100 II (I’ve owned the 100/S previously) as I was excited for the AF improvements. The good thing with the Fuji is a lot of their lenses are much cheaper and on the used market. Which lenses do you have? I just ordered the 80 1.7 again as I liked it with the 100S. I got the 45 2.8 used, 23 f4 used and the 100-200. How do you like your 100ii in comparison to the Hasselblad? There is definitely no play on the Fuji mount

    • @WILMORENO
      @WILMORENO  8 месяцев назад +1

      Well the X2d was very habdsome. But even that powder coating wanted to scratch if you looked at it. Gfx100ii simply works, I can count on it. I currently have the 110f2, 551.7 and I just brought the mitakon 28 5.6 to the grand canyon/zion to test it out. I really hope it resolves highly...I'm wanting that 23 f4 really bad now. I'll probably sell the 55 since I almost exclusively use the 110 and need a wider option for #2. Thanks for your comment

    • @davetv8171
      @davetv8171 8 месяцев назад

      @@WILMORENO that 23 f4 was always out of reach at 2600$ now used for 800-900$. The 110 was always so good. For a cheaper option after no longer owning it, I tried the 80 with the 100S. I had a hard time getting it to focus in low light events. But still got some great ones. I will see soon how it fairs with the 100ii. I know the 1.7 lenses don’t have a linear motor but still should be faster than the Hasselblad as it has much better face detection.
      I’ve heard about the paint on the x2D. I have an alpha gvrd skin on mine and it still scrapes. I’m sure that lowers the trade value.

      @davetv8171 ive been eyeing that 20-35. No one seems to want to get rid of theirs. Theres like 13 of those 23 f4s on adorama right now used. But yeah I'll never get rid of this 110. It's so rewarding to use

    • @davetv8171
      @davetv8171 8 месяцев назад

      @@WILMORENO they say the zoom is just as sharp as the prime. I guess it’s more popular as it is newer with the flexibility. I can bet the 110 is nice with the 100II. I’ve taken some gems with it when I owned the GFX 50R and that was contrast detection at 3fps!
