@@TREETOPCHOPPA762 I see your mistake. I did not make my design based on Wood Art's design, or video. I made my own design, which took me a year, off and on, to finish. Nice project and good use of simple tools. ;) Little tip for ya: When you glue wooden surfaces, cover the entire mating surface in glue. Any area you leave bare will react to moisture differently and since this will be going outside and be stored inside, you are going to get lots of moisture fluctuation. Furniture built improperly can and will tear itself apart, even when it spends it's life inside. If you want real durability switch to Titebond 3 after you prototype with CA. I love CA, but its got nothing on the strength of proper wood glue. Cheers!
@@djdynieldaniel1395 He got thin CA along the joint lines, which is great as it will seep in and seal, but CA is a brittle glue with very little strength when it comes to lateral movement. And more moisture = more movement. As for the finish, aside from high grade marine spar varnish or similar, any finish can and often will fail somehow. When you use a wood glue and cover the entire surface you create a bond so solid that the wood will fail first the majority of the time, moisture-be-damned. :)
@@djdynieldaniel1395 So much of woodworking is trying to mitigate the potential failures. The glue, the joint surfaces, the finish... it all comes down to use-case and materials. I'm just offering advice on upgrading the product along those lines.

Great woodworking skills, and nice toy, but this is not going to do much in a survival situation. Try head to head with a grizzly and see if it tickles him. lol This will not produce enough velocity for true defense. Keep going with your creations though. 👍🏻
Great design, but if I may I can see that if you make a MK 2 version that either the stock or the body is elongated so the hilt of the stock can sit on your shoulder for those accuracy shots. Elongating the body would add more weight on the front end, You might also consider adding some lead into the elongated stock so that it counterbalances the front body with the fulcrum somewhere around where you place your front hand, this will give it much better balance - I've seen stocks that have a longer curved top section so that it partially sits on top of the shoulder for even more stability. Otherwise a GREAT zombie apocalypse design. My only slight criticism would be to use proper wood glue instead of CA considering the forces you are putting into this, CA glue has a low shear resistance and you REALLY don't want this to have a failure while fully cocked.
Looks awesome. I would have liked to see the entire field of view when the shot is made to validate it is the featured weapon's projectile hitting the target. In fact, it makes me skeptical..
