  • Beginner guide on how to get rich after you’ve made your first 500,000 credits. We’ll be looking at beginner mining strategies where you’ll use one of the starter ships, the Adder and outfit it in the cheapest way possible for laser mining. You then find a Painite overlap, travel to the system, mine the material and sell.
Using this method, you can make over 17,000,000 credits in your first run (I spent less than 20 minutes mining in rings). After upgrading your ship a few times until you get to the largest mining ship available without rep grinding, you can make as much as 500,000,000 in a single Painite mining trip, or 828,000,000 in a single Low Temperature Diamond mining trip. Keep in mind, the selling prices fluctuate very regularly.

    --Additional Tips--
If you have money left over, consider upgrading your power distributor, frame shift drive, thrusters, collector limpet controllers and prospector limpet controllers to A rank. This will increase your weapon firing duration, FSD max and total jump range, agility and speed, collector limpet distance and active time, and prospector limpet range respectively.
If you have time to spare, consider engineering a few modules.
o Weapons Focused, Stripped Down power distributor will give much more available power to your mining lasers, allowing you fire for much longer before having to let them recharge
o Increase Range, Mass Manager FSD will not only reduce the number of jumps to reach your destination but will also increase your overall jump range. This gives you the option of replacing a fuel scoop with another cargo rack, or another collector limpet controller if your selling point isn’t too far from your mining location.
o Dirty, Drag Drive thrusters will make you faster and more agile. Mining ships are generally sluggish, so this makes mining a bit less boring.
If you want to earn more credits/hour with each mining run, prioritize collector limpets over cargo space. If you want to maximize your credits per mining run, prioritize cargo racks over collector limpet controllers.
While mining, make sure you are using all available active prospector limpets, so as soon as you’re done mining one rock, you have another one to go start mining
When buying collector limpets, fill at least 2/3 of your total cargo hold (more if you have less than 50T available).
To avoid getting killed by CMDRs, do your mining and selling in a solo or private group.
If you are interdicted, the fastest way to escape is to immediately put all four pips to shields and find a nearby system to jump to. Your FSD generally charges faster than jumping systems than when going to supercruise.
