    Question. When using a pompano jigg do you need to add a weight above it a sinker or is that not necessary ? It seems it would
    Be hard to cast with just a jig it’s so light weight

    • @Thonny
      @Thonny  Год назад +1

      Good question! You don’t need to add any weight as they already come weighted. The main thing is to have the right rod and reel combo. I would recommend 7ft rod medium action paired up with 3000 size reel with 10lb braid and run a couple foot of 20lb flouro leader. You can tie the jig off by using a loop knot.

    Easily the most underrated lure. It catches everything and is inexpensive especially if you make your own teasers. You don’t have to be an expert at tying flies to make these. When there are Smacs around I usually slow down my jigging to save on some cut offs. Experiment with different color combinations as some colors are better than others on any given day. It’s part of mackerel fishing using flouro leader though! Unless you use thin wire leader.

    You say lady fish are a GOOD SIGN. i have only has bad fishing when lady Fish start hitting. I usually move away to a different area. Because once they see bait they don't leave and that is all you will catch.

    Why are you editing out how you're jigging? Could have been a great video but half the video was you reeling in fish.
