Hey Thonny... It brings me many memories of my old fishing spots.... I am a native Tampa bay area fisherman who has been gone for a long time. Returning to fishing in the Bay area.... Just retired and bought a boat and new motor... Hope to see ya out there And maybe we can fish and share a few stories and spots... Phillipe the pirate 🏴☠️🎣
@@Thonny thanks for response! I’d love to film a video and go fishing with you sometime. I’m moving back to Oregon in 5 months and wanna fish as much as possible and record meanwhile for my channel ! ?
Dude I just watched I think 4 videos of you killing it with this jig and I must say I'm a believer... Lol I have to try this when we get to st Pete Beach
I don't know how you keep from getting hung up on all the rocks out there. Can you find sand fleas on Madiera bch right now? I thought pompano were more in the spring time. Thanks
The bite was on fire for ya’ll boys bro! Love when it’s like that. Do you prefer incoming or outgoing tide for Pompanos? I haven’t tried targeting them yet but they look like a lot of fun I’ve gotta try it.
Dem are some nice pomp’s , and whiting is a bonus, got three last week , and a limit of mangos, with the weather change, cooler water temperatures the sheep head should be biting , tight lines guys !
Check out st croix triumph 7’ 6-12lb Medium action rod pair it up with a Shimano stradic 3000 or a Shimano Vanford 3000 and run 10lb braid on it! 20lb flouro leader material.
@@Thonny thanks for the reply. I was just out there with my family this past weekend. Lost my goofy jig on some rocks out there. Switched to live shrimp. My current set up is a star 7 med/heavy and a static 3k. But I love the action your rod but never seen a video mention the set up. I'm about to subscribe so I'll be following you for more pointers. Thanks
Hit your spot today. Had 5, 4 keepers saw 18 caught in the 2 hours I fished. 8 were caught with shrimp.Hit Woody's next Got 1 short pomp. Saw 4 keeper trout and 1 keeper pomp caught during the 40 minutes I was there. Water was very clear everywhere.
What’s your favorite inshore fish to target!?
Redfish for sure.
Pompano
🐑Head all day! Sight 🎣
Snook for sure then goes tarpon

That was an awesome video. It was great to see you guys out there catching them up
Thank you !
Great vid. Looks like you were fishing in the winter . Will definitely try shrimp when I come down in June. 😊
You are 1 hell of a fisherman!
I appreciate it!!
@@Thonny i fish the same spots you guys do. Sand key, JP, tierra verde.
Always crushing it ! Great job Thonny
Thank you !
Nice action on the pompano. I'll be hittin' the pass tomorrow!
On 🔥
Do you think the is Jig would be good around gandy bridge ?
Yessir! Just watch out for the structures!
@@Thonny thanks for response! I’d love to film a video and go fishing with you sometime. I’m moving back to Oregon in 5 months and wanna fish as much as possible and record meanwhile for my channel ! ?
Would this work for the trevally as well?
Too small for trevally
@@Thonny In my region, we are using Spoon to target trevally. Just wondered if this would increase the strike rate.
Good to see you guys killing it out there. Thanks for the vid, Thonny!
Thank you for watching!
I’m glad the pomps are running around here!
Great video.
Thank you!! 🙌
Beautiful! We stay at a Air b&b on the beach across the bridge in Treasure Island! I’m going to use some of your tips next time we go!
Good luck out there !
Dude I just watched I think 4 videos of you killing it with this jig and I must say I'm a believer... Lol I have to try this when we get to st Pete Beach
Everything bites that jig! Perfect for fishing off piers and beaches
Oh it's Pompano time, nice!
Yeah man!
Nice to see the pass clean! Good job guys!
Thanks man!
What do you do when you catch. Stingray?
I try to land it and unhook it. It helps if you put the rod butt on your hip and just walk backwards with it. Try it next time you hook one!
Waiting for those Pomps to come this way! That was a big whiting!
That might’ve been my biggest whiting! Apparently they’re good eating
@@Thonny they are good eating and the bigger they are the better.
Thonny what reel are you using that’s the new sustain?
That’s the new Shimano Exsence!
I don't know how you keep from getting hung up on all the rocks out there. Can you find sand fleas on Madiera bch right now? I thought pompano were more in the spring time. Thanks
I thought they were spring time too.
If the water temperature is right they’ll be around!
Is August too hot for pompano at the pass? Thanks Heading down July 30th.
It’s worth a shot! Reall early in the morning! You might get lucky
What side of the John’s pass bridge do you like to fish more than the other or just go to the side where you find find the fish most of the time.
coming from out of town to fish this weekend any bait shop you reccomend for live bait in the st pete beach area?
Gulf to bay bait and tackle!
thanks man much appreciated!

i prefer incoming
Hey do you think I can buy some of those teasers you made?
Love fishing the pass
Never know what you’re going to catch!
How’s September October for this spot?
Hit or miss! It’s worth a shot though. You might land a decent one but it won’t be as good as springtime
Dem are some nice pomp’s , and whiting is a bonus, got three last week , and a limit of mangos, with the weather change, cooler water temperatures the sheep head should be biting , tight lines guys !
Nice !
Have you seen any Pompano at Bay Side Pier in Ft Desoto?
I haven’t yet!
so you make your own teasers with those size 4 mustad hooks you told me about? I didn't really wanna get into making teasers/fly hooks
Yes
Nice vid Thonny! Nice to see the pomps on fire
Thanks for watching!
Where do you guys park your vehicle at the pass
Awesome video again on fire 🔥
I wanted to work on my jigging. My question is the rod set up. I have a medium heavy 7 rod and would like to know better options.
Check out st croix triumph 7’ 6-12lb Medium action rod pair it up with a Shimano stradic 3000 or a Shimano Vanford 3000 and run 10lb braid on it! 20lb flouro leader material.
Or get the Shimano Zodias 7’ medium action rod paired up with a Shimano vanford 3000. That will be the lightest outfit you can get hands down!

Nice man! 👊
Woodys waterfront??
feels like using fishbits would work well since you can still jig it normally.
Oh yeah! Worth a shot
That’s a redfish sized whiting!
One of my favorite fish. Pomp!
Yes sir!
Wish i had 1/2 that sucess!!!
They’re still chewing! Try early morning on a good incoming tide
