- Shore fishing beaches and bridges. Catching Pompano, Flounder, Black Drum, Ladyfish and much more on silly jig rigs from land. Jigging for Pompano in SW Florida with a goofy jig and teaser rig.
In this video I connect with multiple fishing RUclips creators as I travel hundreds of miles along the Florida coast. The struggle is very real in trying to locate a consistent Pompano bite. Throughout this video you will discover tips and trick for fishing with this banana jig and teaser rig.

JC, I was actually with Jonah when he caught all those pompano. I was fishing right next to him with a pink and white jig and yellow teaser, he was using the exact same jig but with a white teaser. He was catching one on every cast and I caught one. It's crazy how much of a difference the color teaser made that day. We were fishing the exact same way. Great video as always, I'll run into you at some point out there!
Thanks for watching. Yep, I've had that same situation at the jetties where the guy a few feet from me was catching them and I wasn't. Thanks for commenting.
It is crazy how much difference lure color can make. Bad news for the tackle budget, we need every color of every lure. And that's even worse if you're married 🤣.
JC not only teaches how to fish, he’s kind of like a dad showing people how to enjoy life.
love the tip about the double piling and the current casting. thanks
JC, been watching for a long time, love your stuff. Keep plugging away man. I learned a bunch and always there, bro
I love your videos JC, you are a great communicator and fun to watch, good luck with the pomps👍
Another great video thanks JC! That Flounder was making my mouth water - love eating Flatfish! I wish we had an App like that here in the UK for Fish size limits. The only bag limit here is for our saltwater Bass (2 per angler per day) and luckily we don't need any permits or licences for saltwater fishing. Regards - Dave. Stay safe & well! 🎣🎣👍👍
Thank you for all your efforts...That water is so blue.
You are welcome. Thanks for watching the videos!
Great job. Bush is the man!
Happy to see you catch some dinner JC ur grinding for these videos love it man keep up the good work 👍😎
Did great on sharing knowledge and also the fixin' to fail shout out
Thanks for watching. Chris's channel is awesome for sure.
Awesome fishing friend 👌
I used too catch some big pomps and Macks off that bridge! Tight Lines JC!
Fishing with los oh snap your name is Carlos lol
ah man it was 24 degrees this am here in tn great videos thanks
BANANA? No wonder your having a hard time lol
I’ve fished with Bush a few times, dude is a legend!
Cutting down mangroves plus beach replenishment...devastating! This is what happened to South Florida. I live on the Treasure Coast now and don't miss going for the Boynton Beach Slam - a jack, a blue runner, a ladyfish, and a catfish.
Great video. I totally agree with the parking/beach clear out. I heard its part of beach restoration/preservation. That the beach would erode if the mangroves were left there. I dunno! I work nearby so im always around that area. Dont think i heard you mention location, so i wont say anything. 😆👍
Good call on fish rules app. Getting it now
I agree those mangroves made that such a beautiful area. Sucks that those small piers are buried now too..
Sand was added.
Love ya brother. Gheenoe Joe out of Punta Gorda FL👊🏻
Thanks! That’s actually the name of my boat… FISH ON…lol
JC I know the frustration of losing Banana Jig Rigs!!! A least you caught Pomps to show for it!
You know those puffers taste better than flounder any day of the week. I think Mike D will back me on that LOL. great video brother, keep it up.
I've never tried them before. I'm going to have to take a chance sometime and try one. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@RadReelingFishing lots of cool videos on how to CCC them, you clean them sorta like a Bullfrog and they are really good. Take care and keep up the good work.
Just bout that same rod holder I love it
We were catching tons of pompano & permit today along with a few reds on incoming & flat tide...lost some trying to swing them up the jetty... fishing line snagged or frayed on the lower boulders
Sounds like you've found a hot spot for sure.
Binging your videos while having Covid= healing ❤️🩹 thanks for being the man JC
Jc I like that spot
Black drum is a delicious fish, almost as good as snook.
They got alot of worms sometimes so be careful. They won't hurt you I don't believe but it's not the most pleasant thing 👍
@@bassAssassin187 the big ones have the worms.
@@doncaruso1949 yessir 👍
I totally agree. I absolutely love eating Black Drum.
The same thing happened to Lover's Key, Fort Myers, Fl.. Twenty years ago.
Picked up a pursuit 4 combo few weeks ago
I WATCH YOUR VIDEOS WITH GREAT ENJOY, GREETİNGS AND GOOD LUCK FROM ANTALYA / SIDE
I have caught a lot of pompano at the Pass a Grille beach jetty, you need to go to that jetty.
Thanks for the tip. I fished Pass A Grille with Bush a couple of times, but we didn't have any luck. These Pompano are driving me crazy...ha ha
Your in my spot buddy I fish there few times every week
Trees removed means developers will build. They're workin behind the scenes as we speak.
Great Video! Did you swap out the lucky Zebco Hot Cast for a Shakespeare?
Ha ha...I still have both. Thanks for watching.
I found a Penn Pursuit 4 too in a 3000 size. Bought it because of your recommendation from one of your older videos. Wished I could of gotten the 2500 though! It looks spiffy.
Hey jc can we please get a Philippe creek kayak fishing video?
I haven't fished there in a long time. The Fixin' To Fail channel posted a video of trolling in Phillipi Creek recently. Here's that vid: ruclips.net/video/CqheJloacwA/видео.html
Hey JC, do you have any recommendations for any good shoes for the slippery rocks?
I wear tennis shoes in most places I fish and avoid slippery rocks altogether. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks jc
What is the app called that you used? Also surely removing all those mangroves will just cause more beach erosion. They should be planting more.
Fish Rules myfwc.com/news/all-news/fish-app-620/
Great vlog why pay Amazon $8.29 plus shipping go to Dollar Tree and make your own lure covers. I like that beach where your at don't know where that is catch you next time 👍
I tried to make my own once and totally failed. Thanks for the suggestion though.
I found those jigs at a major retailer $10, for an 18 pack. Seems cheap to me? Maybe check it out. Also, I had sent you info on those BPS cheap surf rods wonder if you ever had a chance to check them out? Thanks for the vidoes!!
I did check them out and was amazed at the price of them. Thanks for letting me know.
Hey JC how often do you change your fishing line?
Usually I leave it on until the line gets low on the spool from cutting some off occasionally for whatever reason. Braided line seems to last a very long time.
Fish rule is the best. I always use it I know the owner of fish rules
Please do tell us what bridge your fishing on?
Longboat
The new homes can see the water
You have a point there for sure. I never researched the reasoning. I'm sure there was significant erosion happening.
@@RadReelingFishing The barrier islands off the coast are there for a reason nature dosent make mistakes but people do over and over again and to tell you the truth I'm kinda tired with the people on those islands wanting insurance and how that effects me .
How long is your leaders for the 6.6 rods?
I make my leader as long as the rod, but I can do that because I use an FG knot for attaching to the braid. ruclips.net/video/KSi6GsRCFXI/видео.html
Just watch the linked video definitely gotta get gloves and Thanks👍👍
that looks like a nice beach... very isolated to relax.. anyone know the name?
Beer Can Island
JC where what beach are you on ?
Beer Can Island
Bananas are bad luck! That's why that spot didn't work out 🤣🤣🤣
Funny I always wonder why they take trees down on the side of the highway up here in Illinois, wind blockers for blowing snow in the winter and they take them down. But in Florida your taking away something that is natural to the habitat of the water around it, not good.
They took out mangroves?! Whatever politicians made that decision need to be fired or voted out. Mangroves keep the sand in place. I did think it was legal to take out mangroves.
I'm thinking about ordering some of those lure covers. Awesome.
It was their idea of beach renourishment. They did it July to September and also put 3 rock jetty’s in and pumped sand over the top of them. It’s ridiculous they did all that there
You sell them lol
where's the link to bush's channel... I don't see it?
"Fish On Channel" it's linked in the description.
What's your rod and reel
4000 spinning reel. I have several brands. I like Penn Pursuit 3 and 4
What beach are at
Beer Can Island
Fortunately those jigs are fairly cheap. I just bought a half dozen today.
How can pm you JC
radreelingfishing gmail
Nice video - lure cover on a boat be a disaster since wind resistance will suck your rod out of the holder .
That fish that you caught and called it puffer is not a puffer. Puffers are usually darker in color mostly black and gray with a white bottom what you had was called a Atlantic Blowfish Blowfish or not poison I personally have eaten thousands of them they're chicking of the sea they call thim up North but there's a big difference between a puffer fish and a blowfish.
sheeper keeper
Those trees weren't mangroves, probably invasive, that's why they were removed
Did you see the red mangroves in the video? Wow...
More like invasive developers!
I feel confused by your comment about how expensive it is to lose pompano jigs!?! They are the cheapest jigs ever. Less than a dollar each. Not that we want to lose them.... But cheaper than live bait, cheaper than any other multi-species jig....
Maybe work on a better way to release a fish from a bridge
I know, i,d think someone would have invented a device by now other than a giant bridge net.
Did you know that the Florida Constitution recognizes your (right to fish) so why are you still buying fishing licenses ? No state may convert a right into a privilege and charge a fee therefore, help abolish the fishing licenses For All
Disagree...
Had to stop the video and quit watching when he takes the extra hook out of the fish mouth and throws it down on the ground and doesn’t pick it up so some kid can get it in his foot
Hahaha. And you know he didn't pick it up? Wear shoes!!!
I learned how to remove hooks as a kid , has come in real handy for me and my buddies 👴
