  • I caught two nice keepers while fishing for Pompano and Permit with jigs and teasers. When the water temperature drops during the winter in SW Florida it's time to start searching for these delicious fish. The best place to find them is in the major inlets and passes. Brightly colored goofy jigs combined with colorful teaser flies are excellent lures to target these two species with.

    Great Video! We just came “home” to Clearwater after four years of full time RV travel. This weekend was spent re-spooling my salt water reels and tying up some dropper rigs. Try Twitching it upcurrent. The fish are keying in on the bait and the bait faces or swims into the current . They are ignoring anything moving with the current . There is grass leaves etc etc floating with the current. Aquick twitch into the current. Could make a2 fish day into a 20 fish day.

    • @RadReelingFishing
      @RadReelingFishing  Год назад +1

      Bridges, drop offs, sandbars with deep holes, points where there's moving current, choke point areas...Pompano can be just about anywhere in an inlet. You have to cast and cast until you find where the are hanging out, keep moving around. Clear water is a really good place to start casting for them. Two years ago, in a major inlet near some jetty rocks, the water was very murky due to high winds except for one small area where there was clear water flowing and that's where they were stacked. You can see the stream of clear water in this video where we were catching them ruclips.net/video/GRtZIt-RnsE/видео.html

      Thanks for watching. I'm spoiled by the AutoPilot 120. I love it. I also really like my pedal drive kayak. The thing about the pedal drive is it can be taken on camping adventures where there's no electricity needed to charge a battery....I really think spending that sort of money for the AutoPilot 120 is a lifestyle choice. I'm single and do most of my fishing alone. I don't have use for a boat for the type of fishing I love to do and that fits my budget. When my children were younger we had a boat that would suffice for family outings. I don't need a boat now because my kids have one that I can go on with them. Thanks for asking.

      @@RadReelingFishing my only debate is to buy it for $40 without the spinning reel or buy it with the spinning reel for $50. We all know the spinning reel is probably worth no more than $10 but for the extra ten bucks why not buy the combo and throw the spinning reel in the box of spare parts, because we all know one day we will need it. It's funny you and I have a lot in common actually I am a singer guitar player on the east coast of Florida not far from Cocoa Beach. I do James Taylor Simon and Garfunkel Bob Dylan The Beatles all the usual acoustic stuff, and when I'm not playing guitar I'm fishing. Either way so happy to bump into your RUclips page it is giving me a lot of great information to use as well as provided me with a lot of really good entertainment as well. Nothing like after a hard day at work watching a guy in a kayak pull in Sheepshead one after another. It definitely beats what's on TV right now for sure.
