Remember People this is just a prototype they are studying if a premium pickup truck segment exists and i think now even mercedes benz saying it has cancel it but wait for 5-7 years they will show the 2nd gen with an all new platform and no shared components to lesser brands
Cadillac is the only premium brand in the world that pulled off a true "Luxury Truck" with the Escalade EXT. It's got such a unique shape and look to it.
Honda took the Pilot and made a Ridgeline, and it was an instant hit. Mercedes could have followed the same formula and made a pickup from the GLS-Class SUV. North American buyers would go crazy for it.
Travis McQuaig at least they were somewhat luxurious. This is expensive yet still basic, nasty and poorly made just like a lot of Nissan/Renault cars... except this one has a star on it.

People forget this is a pickup truck. Yes the price is a bit ridiculous compared to the actual Nissan, but the reviewer surely can't expect leather all over and soft touch materials especially if its expected to be doing light to heavy duty jobs.
Hope the updates to the x class will fix these issues cause if your paying the premium for the Mercedes badge you should get Mercedes quality inside. It’s still cool though.

Only a fine luxury brand like Mercedes-Benz could make a truck and make it better than every American truck. And make it at its own time without ford and Chevrolet always copying each other. When Ford redesigned the F-150 Chevrolet had to redesign the Silverado. Same with the 2018 mustang and now Chevy is redesigning the camero🤨. It’s a lovely truck and I would rather drive this than every other truck on the market
Worst pick-up in its class . Just hopeless job done by Mercedes . There is no proper Mercedes feeling and quality in it . If you want pure luxury pick-up go for vw amarok V6 . It's better than fake Mercedes .

I always wish Carbuyer would somehow show us how the dash and interior look from the driver's seating position. It would make it clear how the interior presents itself to the driver.
People fail to understand Daimler and nissan have a partnership in automobiles you cannot pinpoint the issues in a cabin just because it's a mercedes. Mercs are solid cars and most parts if not every part is environmentally friendly bar emissions...most parts can be recycled in a mercedes whereas other brands who normally spend more on quality cannot have their parts recycled .... in that aspect you have to give credit where it's due. .. audi and bmw use more resources to build quality stuff but their cars are slightly cheaper than mercs. They're definitely operating at a loss just to compete with Mercedes... by the way I own a bmw 3 series and I love it... but have to say the truth...

The Nissan Navara seems to look better than this. To be honest the new Mercedes look also does not look good on the Navara. Also, this being a Nissan based Mercedes. Probably will be the most reliable Mercedes 😂
Badge appeal = snobishness. At least 90% of all these features are available on the Nissan Navara Tekna doube cab for far less money, even the V6 diesel engine - a friend has one for his work horse.
Buying a Mercedes is all about that badge these days, every other aspects of a car, you van find better and mucI more value for money from othrr brands.
Let’s be honest here, its crap for the extra you pay over the Nissan, I have a NP300 and I’m really pleased with it considering it costs half of the Merc they really could do better, get the Datsun and take the kids to Florida and pay 10k off the mortgage.
