THEY ACTUALLY DID IT!! YAY! now i don’t have to rewind.
I realy love the styling of the Ranger Raptor but they really need to step up their engine game coz its terribly underpowered for a pick up truck
Why does a pickup need that much horsepower though, it’s a 2L diesel it’s already got exceptional torque for pulling and 213Hp is more than enough
they had a good engine to start with. If they had kept this 3.2l 5-cylinder power plant and fitted it with a second turbo in combination with the 10-speed gearbox. But it would be a too big opponent to the F-150. Furthermore, built outside of the home land. Also, you know at this times with too many Gretas around it's only about down-sizing. Even the new F-150 raptor has only a 6-cylinder engine.
@@OttoPollmann I know right. The experts down in Australia all say they don't know why they did away with it cause the new Biturbo has less power and torque than the 3.2 at least the next gen Ranger is getting a V6
@@vanderz1012 that’s not really true. There’s been plenty of tests that show the new 2L engine actually tows a lot better than the old 3.2L for example. The european regulations keep changing and making it more difficult for bigger engines to survive, but the only thing that did was make engineers strive for better engines and come up with creative ways to solve issues that for the longest time were always solved with the “make it bigger” mentality. They’re now squeezing a whole lot more out of tried and true engines smaller engines than anyone would’ve thought possible just 15 years ago.
@@davidcoelho9241 yes the 2.0 does tow better and has more torque. However you need to really give it foot to get it going proper cause that little motor needs to spool the turbos and that is the major problem. I have the 3.2 and you tap the peddle you get power. I test drove the 2.0 and it's a solid unit but not as instant as the 3.2. But you are right, the Europe regulations are killing the make it bigger mentality, and the fact that you get that much from a little motor is amazing. We probably won't see the V6 though in Europe. Here in South Africa defs. Keep in mind though the biturbo is a brand new and we have no long term reliability stats yet we won't know until a few years down the line, revving the tits off it is not a good thing about it

Yes, drop the Amarok cabin so it will go even faster thanks to reduced weight.
Actually, Amarok's canopy is less aerodynamic due to the gap between it and the cabin. Other 3 have a way more efficient (weight/aerodynamic) bed covers.

Any of the newer F150 would handily win, even the diesel, have seen a rental place that had one in London. Guess one of the reasons Ford doesn't want to bring that Ranger Raptor to North America is cause of that motor, is too underpowered.
The sound of the pickups physically smashing the air into pieces as they 'speed' ahead...
