I remember so many people complaining about the motion controls in the original. I still don't know how they had so many problems with such easy movements.
I suppose if you're a speed runner it can be annoying tht one wrong input destroys everything (although I don't know exactly how speedruns look like, maybe they somehow don't fight at all), but for a casual player it was glorious.
Oh...oh you poor souls. Sure, it's beautiful artistically, but it is a far cry from a "glorious" experience. Watch Game Grumps play it all the way through, and actually consider the points he makes throughout it. It's definitely got more problems than it does triumphs.

The movements are easy but the wiimote was garbage that didn't properly register them. The only way to make it sort of work was to recalibrate every 2 minutes and that's a whole other terrible experience.

Not gonna lie I saw the thumbnail and fully expected the video to just be of Link sitting in the restroom, but this is unexpectedly wholesome!
That's the only thing you need for the game to be worth it!
This is exactly how i felt the first time i played the game. I wasn't just lightly moving the wii remote, i was full on using it as a real sword with exagerated moves. This game is really close to my heart, because unlike the other games, i wasn't just playing as Link, I WAS LINK
I'm really happy to see someone else having such fun with it (even if i've arrived quite late at the video xD)

I actually JUST finished SS yesterday, it brought me to tears. It was my very 1st Zelda game ever!!! (Loved the motion controls btw!) Next stop is to play as the next reincarnation of link, in Oot!!!

Ahh, congrats! I sobbed, too. 🥲 I also highly recommend Twilight Princess, if you're looking to play more LoZ games. Or Breath of the Wild if you have the switch.

@@colinzimmerman5362 You're so right. TP made me cry over Colin and Midna, SS made me freaking BAWL over Fi and Impa, and BOTW just filled me with so much pain and dread over literally everyone. 😂 I love the emotional abuse, I guess.

Just got done with this game and honestly I feel like even after playing BOTW, it's the best Zelda game to date. They really nailed it. So much content and I just did the main story which felt so fulfilling and complete.
And this is why we need a wii sports game on switch

I honestly enjoyed skyward sword when it first came out on the wii. It was something fun and new, and i appreciated what Nintendo was doing

I've been playing the game since late 2021, all throughout 2022 and seeing this is so cool! I love how you have the Wii Remote attached to a sword hilt and blade!

I played both skyward and twilight. Twilight Princess was very wholesome but at moments it was annoying because of some sword techniques, like the shield hit, and aiming with the sensor. Even if i really liked it, when i played the HD version with a pro controller everything was soooooo easy and so nice.
But even with Skyward on Switch and a pro controller, the sword experience feels sometimes very weird, i just think sometimes innovating can become really annoying.
I recently played BOTW, TP and SS in like 2 months and OMG it's just so annoying that the controlls are so different between each others .

Id say it does, plus it has some slight quality of life updates that make it better. I dont know all the changes, but i believe the tutorial is shorter and you dont get item descriptions popping up every time you get an item anymore :)

I’m almost at the end of the game, and the motion controls only do what I want half the time, but I quite enjoy it despite the frustration because it’s unique in the Zelda franchise and makes you feel more involved. I also love the lore and the flying and all the side quests but I digress. Took away from the experience a bit but still pretty enjoyable for me
I don't care what the haters say. This game is awesome and is still easily one of my favorite Zeldas.
The game would be so much more fun if I had that sword still it was a great time completing it

Skyward Sword sat firmly towards the bottom of all Zelda games in its original Wii motion-based form, but I always felt it had a better story, characters and emotional beats than other games in the series. Skyward Sword HD elevated the game a lot to me with its more traditional controls. There are still some irritating elements like the multiple battles against The Imprisoned and runs up Death Mountain to the Fire Sanctuary, but the better controls even make those more tolerable.

If you don’t have a Wii, Wii U, or Switch, there’s always emulation. Most decent computers can handle Wii games just fine.
I plan on getting this and expected not to use the controls, but how do you feel? Accurate? Responsive? Reliable? I'm just curious.
You may get tired of playing faster if youre doing motion controls, but if you get comfortable with the recalibrate button, its manageable for sure 👍🏻

i haven’t beat ghirahim’s “final form”/demise and i kind of want to start a new save file but like… it feels weird to start a new file before finishing the first one.
i want to get the hylian shield for that fight but i took a break from the game and basically lost all of my combat skills so i don’t know how i’m going to get that hahaha
You can practice fighting, maybe doing the shield trial a few times to get back into it, even if you fail :) but starting fresh is always an option if youre feeling it
