- It’s not every day that a classic Ford goes up for auction. Well, try more than 220, ranging from Model A’s and T’s to wood-panelled station wagons and vintage buses. This breathtaking array of vehicles - recognised as the largest private collection of classic Fords in the world - formed the Den Hartogh Museum, a 50-year labour of love for Piet den Hartogh, in the Netherlands. ford.to/FordCollection
Viewing is today and that the auction is tomorrow 23 June.

That is so sad. Guess the son just wants the cash. Dont think Dad would be to proud.
It's just sad to see it sold. I know many would say it is good to spread the collection around, but I mean that it is sad that they do not see in it what their father did or want to hold onto it for that connection.
When father and son have nothing in common. It’s a real shame he didn’t carry on, blaming his dad’s departure. He was supposed to be the next gen.
And now some of those cars are probably gathering dust somewhere, sad.

Jay Leno should have bought the entire collection

Jay Leno doesn't buy every old car that's for sale. There might be a few that he would be interested in but there's too much redundancy. He already has plenty of Fords. These should go to individual buyers. Leno's collection will be auctioned off some day. Who would you want to buy them all then?

My god, the beautiful lines of those early 1900's is absolutely breathtaking. Weird to think that every man and woman whom built those cars are many years gone but their work live forever in such beautiful collections like this one. 220 vintage Ford's, I'd give almost anything for just 1
Man, that's a big bummer that the museum was shut down and all the cars put up for auction. A lifetime's worth of work disbanded just like that. Unless it was in the father's will to put all the vehicles in the hands of collectors, it just seems very wrong.
