I’m sorry Victini. I can’t even feel sad about you right now? I bear no grudge against anyone. It’s just the world feels so… wonderful right now.”
Gojo only won cause of plot armor. He awakened RCT out of nowhere because the author wrote himself into a corner.
@@Zero-c5vnononono hold up
(disclaimer: i have not read the manga or anime, so excuse me if i am wrong here.)
according to gojo himself, he actually HAS been trying to learn rct for a while but he hadn’t been able to get a hold of it. however, assuming he tried to do red as well, this practice would lead to him learning it against toji because it was a life or death situation. he focused entirely on trying to use rct. we can come to a non asspull conclusion that the adrenaline rushing through him and how alarmed his mind was caused his body to reflexively preform rct by itself (this is possible because hakari has instinctive rct during jackpot because of the high amount of cursed energy. cursed energy is generated by negative emotions, and if a normal human can sometimes see a curse during a life or death situation, then the nervousness gojo had could’ve possibly triggered this.), allowing gojo to remember that experience and replicate it.
think of it like a musician playing a piece for an audtion with a measure that they hadn’t finished practicing. they had ALMOST got it, but they never got it right. on the day they have to play, they are very nervous. they try their VERY best on their performance and manage to just barely do the unpracticed measure right.

I gotta say, banning the top ten most used pokemon is so funny in how absolutely random and brutish it was. I wish I was a vgc player and got to see basically an alien metegame
That’s what I’m saying. It’s that kind of stuff that makes memories for players in any game. Like when everyone in Mortal Kombat X was playing Alien. They nerfed Alien into the ground and a better meta was born from it. Or when R6 banned having fun, it completely changed the game.
@@DCBiscuitYou say that as if you CAN have fun in R6.

"Just go ahead and try to get ahold of a Hoopa or Marshadow nowadays." meanwhile Diancie literally hasn't gotten a single distribution since Gen 6 yet for whatever reason still being programmed into both SWSH and SV
Hopefully she’ll be available in Legends ZA?
There's worse examples. As seen in DOU formats, Jirachi is probably the best Follow Me user... but the only way to get Follow Me on Jirachi is from an in-person event in 2013. Which was held for one month in August. In Japan. At ONE SINGLE store in Tohoku. Good luck getting that legally LMAO.
@djboyce88 that's Original Color Magearna, not Diancie. Standard/faded Magearna also has a continuous distribution, but that only matters for as long as Bank stays active.
Series 13 was the vgc equivalent of watching a room full of toddlers slam into each other with shopping carts. It was pure chaos and I hope we get it back soon
More like a free for all school fight
that analogy made me laugh so much harder than it should've when i pictured it in my head lmao
Imo they should put a restricted limit just so people are forced to use some other options.

We’ll most likely get these kinds of formats after the final World Championship of a generation; as there is no longer money to be earned from competitive between Worlds and the next generation’s release, why not let people have fun?
smeargle is just a reskin of darkrai back in sun in moon
You mean gen 6 right?
Isn't sun and moon gen 6? I mean there's the green legendary in sun and moon. Plus the previous games literally have to be gen 5, since they're the last games in 2d. Yk, X/Y coords? That was before 3d, which is why they are called X/Y. Pretty cool, right?

I firmly believe that Series 13 would have been a GOATed format if they had left restricteds limited to 2
i want to see a format where its 1 restricted 1 mythical. that could be interesting imo
I think it would be cool to see a format where you can use only one mythical and one or two restricted legendary pokemon
Actually, there was one series 13 event, being 2023 taipei regionals. It also contributed to worlds, as the top 2 both got auto qualification to day 2 of nationals. That said, mythicals werent very popular, the the highest placement they got was victini at 12th
Also silvally placed higher than victini
VGC Little Cup sounds like a fun format
Mienfoo remains the Chosen One
dude each game of that would be the best 7 turns of my life
Given that some mythicals have actually become easier to obtain, it wouldn't surprise me if in the not too distant future we start seeing them legal in more VGC formats
I’d definitely expect them to do something like this again when it comes to the end of Scarlet and Violet Regulations
the way that smogon never bans pokémon for high usage in the first place. pokémon can rise or fall based on usage, but never get banned. this is why pokémon like great tusk can attain 60% usage and still be in the tier
Eh... that's arguable. The number one reason for banning Greninja in Gen VI was that it was overcentralizing and literally everyone was running it.
@@RabblesTheBinx in the same vein, snorlax is arguably overcentralising in gsc but that never got banned either. plus, greninja wasn’t just banned for being a central mon, it was the combination of being centralising AND insanely difficult to deal with thanks to perfect coverage always coming off of stab

Tbh I think the idea of banning the top ten most used Pokemon is a bad long term idea but I feel like it was a cool way to keep the game fresh

You know, a VGC series with a ban list is conceptually good. But yeah, the way they did it was shitty. Some Pokemon are just bad for the health of the game, I'd like to see them try it again (but better, which is honestly a pipe dream tbh). There is no world where Gigalith being the only sand setter is a good one.
Sometimes I agree with this (god I hate seeing Urshifu and Amoongus everywhere), but at the same time, VGC with no ban list is quite diverse and has a lot of variation. Yesterday, we saw a Umbreon make top 4 and a Chandelure make top 16, and this is considered a relatively more centralized format than the previous 2, so I’m not sure bans will improve much.
i would like to see it for another rotation at least, while just banning specific pokemon like Urshifu and Incineroar.
temporary rulesets can give way to some interesting metagame diversity. not just diversity in what pokemon are viable, but diversity in the rulesets themselves. similsr to the variety of smogon other metagames, like STABMons and AlmostAnyAbility.
the banlist format having usage-based bans sounds more like a vgc uu, a format like this could absolutely work but the difference is singles has a way lower usage threshold for stuff to drop a tier (if a mon gets under something around 4-5% usage it drops to the tier below, which ends up being everything outside the top 40 or so mons instead of just the top 10) which ensures basically all the clearly stronger mons are banned in the tier below which makes for a completely different landscape, and they also have separate strength-based banlists alongside the usage-based ones in case something busted does slip through the cracks
You missed Sword/Shield Series 10. The series where the main mechanic of the generation (Dynamax) was banned
It went from "time when gamefreak unbanned mythical pokemon" to "different formats of vgc" real quick
3:17 Meanwhile Walking Wake and Iron Leaves:

Melmetal getting the recognition it deserves
I first started thinking about PvP during Gen 8, Series 13. I was very confused
I'm gonna be real, having an official format where the top most used Pokemon are just banned is kinda cool. As a spectator, it means we finally get to see some different Pokemon being used that might not have otherwise been considered for a VGC setting. Though that really only works if they ban more than like, 10 Pokemon.
Anyway, they should give us an official way to play Little Cup in SV or Z-A.
Dynamax adding HP allows players to not sacrifice their best card if they lose lead. Tera type allows you to change your type once, and mega evolution is a temporary better stat boost for one pokemon. I like hyper offense with some risk involved to win the game very early. I have access to so many mythical that sometimes I get bored knowing Pokémon home exists...(I practiced during the pandemic really hard)
gen 8 was my introduction to competitive vgc, i liked dynamax... i didn't realize it was so hated.. :(
The thing is, there WAS a regional held in series 13. The Taipei regional in October 2022 was the only event held during that time, and it was won by Chuang Yu-peng running Kyogre/Zacian/Yveltal/Dialga/Lunala/Regieleki.
That was peak vgc imo.
Glacial Lance's animation goes incredibly hard.
Yeah... I still call them all Legendaries 😂
I actually believe that, at some point, GF intends to allow mythicals in VGC. Let’s think about it, many mythical Pokémon, ever since ORAS, have been catchable in-game, and many others are catchable in PoGo, which is Free to play. Also, mythicals like Darkrai and Zarude have had their signature moves balanced for Doubles, with Zarude’s Jungle Healing being the prelude for Lunar Blessing, and Darkrai’s infamous Dark Void tragedy (let’s be honest, they didn’t need to make the move suck even for the og user if there wasn’t ever a possibility for it to be part of a metagame). Those factors make me think mythicals are eventually gonna be allowed in VGC at some point in time.
Dark Void is still OP
It needs to be weakened again.
Because there are enough ways to improve accuracy. (Gravity/Supersweet Syrup)
Because 50% accuracy is actually way too good for a double sleep move.
If you're lucky, all 2 of your opponent's Pokemon will sleep and you'll have an incredible advantage.
Dark Void is still OP, for doubles.
For supersweet syrup, you just gotta switch out your leads, and as an ability, it’s locked to some mediocre Pokémon. Gravity is interesting, as Darkrai is plenty fast, but there are some real monsters in the speed department, not to mention Choice Scarfers, and Gravity would have the downside of making moves like Heat Wave and Rock Slide guaranteed hits on both of your pokes. I don’t think Dark Void is still OP. It definetly is high risk, and high/ medium reward, depending on the scenario
They should’ve allowed deoxys, for the oras and gen 7 formats, keldeo for the series after crowned tundra, and now meloetta for the series after indigo disk
Thank you for saying that bc I just remembered I never caught the SV meloetta
Having dinner while watching your videos just hits different 💯
Dynamax was really good in doubles, I'm surprised you are hearing otherwise
Good but not hated, that's what he meant
As I remember it, the mythicals format was super fun to watch, but I never wanted to play it because I didn't know how to get half those mons myself, and I knew I wouldn't be very good at it anyway. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing them. Bring back a variation of it at the very end of each game's life cycle if it works out like it did between gen 8 and 9.
I’m clearly in the minority but I loved Dmax & Gmax my pokemon. It was also the first time I got into competitive. Pokémon that made me try the other formats, but sword, and shield was my favorite. Competitively speaking
Reverse cursed technique: Heatran
I am new to ranked battle. Need some options on my team.

Hisuian Zoroark (choice spec+trick)
Regieleki (covert cloak)
Vaporeon (acid armor/baton pass)

Been winning about half my matches, but wondering what I could be doing better. Not to good at predictions or big brain reads.
Hope to see some of this in SV too
I have a hoopa to spare dude
I liked dynamax :( it was certainly better than z-moves at least and it was less centralizing from what I could see compared to megas. Being able to do stuff like dynamax whimsicott to win a tourney is sick! I could understand why people didn't like it much but as a casual player and a frequent viewer I loved it
NGL making a metagame out of taking the top 15 most used pokemon and banning them actually sounds pretty cool.
Incineror, landorus, tornadus, fluttermane, urshifu, ogerpon, dondola and its little friend, rillaboom, iron hands, farigaraf, Kingambit, annihilape and more all banned sounds like the game....could actually be fun to experiment entirely new setups with instead of having to do the "I want to try a pokemon I like so I slap it into a team of 5 of the most popular, dont actually use it the entire time and say the build is off meta"
TL;DR- imagine a world where everyone had less than 570 effective value of stats, reasonable typing and not insane move pools. Looks beautiful, doesnt it?
Although yeah I agree with everything you said in the video it needs to be done with more care and actually assessing who is getting banned. IMO Ithink just Fluittermane and Urshifu need to go and that would change the metagame to an acceptable degree. Not having to specifically build because of those two would give so many more options. 15 is too wide of a net to cast and would just be taking out a lot of support pokemon that arent the actual problem. But top 2-3 removed for one of the regulations might be fun. But what do I know?
A VGC tiering system could be cool, but just Overused and Underused. Would make a lot of people happy to be able to get their favorite toys out and not watch it get killed immediately by a 135 speed, 135 power moonblast.
5:47 thank you for calling yourself out too, but damn... that hit hard xD
I got jumpscared seeing myself appear in this video at 1:16
11:30
"As it turns out, banning the top 10 most used pokemon just gets them replaced by the next 10 in an even more centralized metagame"
I wish people would understand this instead of just arbitrarly QQing to ban the highest usage pokemon in a given format.
Good to know that I have one thing over Moxieboosted, which is having every Mythical and Legendary.
5:42 I will never leave the internet, I got shadow tag locked
2:29 septemer typo lmao
the video is pretty biased ngl - there are more wacky formats than this (what about Jump Magikarp tournament? that format went for a month too) and the rest is mostly expressing how dynamax is "hated among vgc players", which is debatable
did you make the video just for making this point?

Deoxys is the worst example of a mythical pokemon one could give while not being entirely wrong
In the games code it's marked as mythical
@@MoxieBoosted that's an interesting bit of trivia I didn't know about.
considering that it was supposedly meant to be updated to legendary back in gen 6, that's also a little confusing, but maybe that's on me for expecting pokemon games to make some modicum of sense
@@grayblacklight560back in gen 6 it was never made legal in VGC eother, despite no longer needing an event tk be ontainable
@@grayblacklight560 It was available in-game in ORAS and aat least one piece of official Pokémon material, "Official Guide to Legendary and Mythical Pokémon," said that it had been reclassified as a legendary Pokémon. Then come the Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon reveals, when it was revealed that legendary Pokémon were available in Ultra Space, complete with a grid of all the legendary Pokémon... Deoxys wasn't there. Then the Legendary Year of Pokémon was announced and I was SCANDALIZED to see that not only absent, but that TYPE NULL and SILVALLY were present!... Yeah, I hadn't figured out they were legendary yet. To be fair, they were just kind of tossed 3/4 of the way into the Pokédex (admittedly with a legendary Pokémon from another region) and were owned by a trainer (I was not familiar with the concept of "ordinary trainers" owning legendary Pokémon and would have just said N, the most prominent counter-example, was an unusual exception if you had told me), and I hadn't bothered looking up what the legendary Pokémon were because otherwise the legendaries and Ultra Beasts were grouped together at the back of the Pokédex, and I knew which ones were and weren't Ultra Beasts because I owned the Sun and Moon strategy guide just for the fun of reading it a year before I got a 3DS and Ultra Sun and it said that "It looks like an Ultra Beast, but Beast Balls aren't very effective on it."
So yes, Pokémon seemed to entertain the notion of making it legendary for one generation, but if they never recoded it as a legendary, I guess they decided not to commit to it after all. I immediately thought of this too when Deoxys was used as an example, not because MoxieBoosted was wrong (Which wasn't the case), but because of how close we came to it being otherwise.

I lowkey still like Dynamax
Come on man not only are calling dynamax the worst mechanic but also claiming most others think the same too ?, it feels a lot like personal bias. I even remember Wolfey saying he preferred it over Z-moves because it was less chaotic and stress inducing
The people I see hating on dynamax are usually the kind who is just salty over megas being gone or the kind that hates everything related to SwSh. They can be very loud but their feelings don't come from the quality of the mechanic itself
9:03 suprise Rickover jumpscare.
It sucks that Pecharunt is considered a Mythical because it'd be kinda niche in VGC.
Great vid. Still think dynamax is 2nd best gimmick! I love the creativity with max moves and effects vs a 1 time nuke button in z moves.

I can't believe Urshifu dodged the top 10, it's so stupid, I really can't....
Tera gotta be the most understandable gimmick
time to argue!!!!!!!!! basicly just that deoxys stopped being mythical when it got released into the base game of ORAS, so it's no longer event-only, but i guess gamefreak still treats it like one
Mythical is a designation in the games code. It's still mythical.
I'd like to see VGC little cup some day that sounds fun

I thought dynamax was way better than z moves. I’m surprised to see you put it at the bottom of your ranking.

Gimme an honest answer regarding my favorite 100 based baby mythical Pokemon.
So besides Victini, how would all the other 100 all rounder baby mythicals fare nowadays when they are allowed to play in official formats once there are proper official main series games that allows a player to get them in-game without the outdated mystery gift model?
Like getting Manaphy by playong the side quest in Legends Arceus. That is way easier than the old Pokemon Ranger games model where limited pokemon ranger hames carry the time limited manaphy egg quest promo.
Ranking Dynamax at the bottom seems a bit harsh. It was at the very least better than z moves
Okay serious question

Do people tend to lean them more as Paradox Pokémon instead of true legendaries, or do they fit both categories?
