Hey probably low key has used it as secret training for years and is trying not to blow his cover. Acting like it's cute seeing EMC CRUSH his kit drum practice sessions (in 3 days 🤫) and hoping the public still think he's the king 👑
I was looking for a sentence like this in the comments. Something that barely sounds like English, and possibly barely makes sense to my niche market. And reveals something mind-blowing at the same time. Well done. 😌☕
My favorite is when El Estepario makes a video and shows off someone else, then goes “I can’t do that”:) There’s always someone that shows up with something crazier. Can’t stop that. What EMC and El has in common is that they are entertaining. That’s the true magic imho.
Playing the drums does feel really good. You're like channeling the rhythm through your entire body. Hard to explain but it feels great. Unless you are a drummer & already know what I'm talking about.
PART 2 PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!! El Estapario is worth your time and effort. You look more comfortable and confident on the kit already so don't stop now 🙏👍💪
El Esteban is doing a 30 day independence challenge on Drumeo starting in early April. I am looking forward to it as this guy is a beast on the kit. Great job figuring out these grooves. It was good that you displayed the process that you take to break down grooves like that.
Love that you show all the approach. It's so frustrating for me doing even the dumbest shit really slow, but seeing you doing it for this seemingly impossible grooves made me accept that it is normal and I have to be more patient. Back to the drums!
Talk about accuracy, on that first groove he's leveraging off the drum key on the floor tom to do a one handed roll on the cowbell. Bonkers. Good stuff dude :)
really cool to see you work through a tough groove! I'd love to see more stuff like that. I always have trouble judging how much I should expect to have to practice to learn a thing, so it's good to see other people do it too
Everyone forgets Jonathan “Sugarfoot” Moffett, Michael Jackson’s drummer for 30 years. He had to take the drum machine beats that they layered onto the songs in the studio and replicate them live on stage for Jackson’s concerts. His nickname is “sugarfoot” for gods sakes. Michael Jackson is quoted as saying “sometimes my guitarist makes a mistake. Sometimes my bass player makes a mistake. Sometimes I make a mistake. Sugarfoot never makes a mistake”.
Great job! Quite the boss battle. I have very mixed feelings about Estepario and folks calling him a goat. I also know the internet hates on me when I criticize him in any way, even while I'm giving him massive props, so I'll just say he's really talented. More than happy to expand on all that if anyone wants to shoot the sh*t about it. Great job again Dave, for nailing his exercises, esp since drumset isn't your main gig.
I know what you mean. He's a likeable guy, and I don't even think he would accept such a title (although he could be considered one of the best). But it is pretty wild to call him the "greatest of all time" which is only understandable if it's coming from someone who doesn't drum or hasn't been for very long, or if they have then their knowledge is limited. He put the work in and it shows in his unusually outstanding skills and I think even he says that anyone who puts in the work can do something similar.
@@mikuspalmis But would you want to? I mean, who could you play with that can keep up? I drum, and I'm in awe of what he has accomplished. He truly is a serious technician. My issues are, not a single real GOAT drummer - from Buddy to Thomas Lange - ever made it as a solo act. They played for years - on stage - live without a net, not in a room with a camera and a rewind button. Drummers support, and on occasion take center stage musically, but YT has created a sub genre: The Solo Technician. Again, I LOVE THIS GUY'S PLAYING! Very exciting and fun. I have spent 40 years with the philosophy that crazy fast isn't the goal. It's interesting in an academic exercise way, but no drummer other than metal was ever expected to play at 300 bpm. I want to see Estepario play with other musicians. Drummers are musicians, and by themselves, it ain't gonna fill an album. I mean, even he says it takes him 50+ tries to get a video right. The real GOATS didn't have that option, so I guess that's why it irks me. Anyway, that's about it.
Jaw dropping impressive doesn't even capture how amazing you both are. I'll stick w my meat and potatoes drumming but a fella can dream to one day play like this if only for a few measures before the wheels fall off. Spectacular job brother.
El Esteario is a beast of a drummer. He can be copied but not duplicated. The dude is an army of one. And I never jock anyone. But this guy definitely deserves to be recognized.
Good morning! This is video 163 of me asking for a drumline gym made out of various marching percussion instruments, such as the tenor barbell, and bass drumbbells.
Every new pattern in for drummerers: 1) Feel like a completely uncoordinated noob; 2) Get it the first time and feel freakin awesome; 3) Mucho practice to drill it into muscle memory. Good video. 👍
I'm here in Dayton, waiting for Eric to hand over tickets to him, and currently watching the Price Charter rehearsal. It's now 8 pm, Eric, Tony G, and Dom are almost here ... And I finally finished watching this video. 🔥🥁🔥
For that second one with the bongos I'm not sure he's using the dualist pedal. I think he might just be playing the E's and A's on the kick. I might be wrong.
Look, the guy deserves respect because he does some crazy things on drums, but to say he is THE GOAT? I expected your opinion to be better as a fellow drummer.
You know, dude, you’re pretty good at analysis. I went down this “xyz reacts to Tool” rabbit hole last week. I don’t like react videos a rule; they’re mostly contrived. There were a few I sensed were kind of sincere and legit. Some of those were done by self taught musician or non-musicians and watching them struggle to describe as best they could what was going on musically was sweet but also a little painful. But, as I was blow drying my amazing hair I wondered if you’d consider doing a legit, technically-focused react video to some Tool/Danny Carey stuff and maybe some others, too. If the challenge isn’t enough motivation (and it shouldn’t be a big one for you), I also noticed the view count of those videos were pretty dang high compared to some of their other content
Somebody's convince me to not give up on playing the drums. I've been at it for 5 months and I'm proud of my progress but the more I learn the more I realize how much there is to learn.
If you used the Yamaha ead10, which is his crutch, you'd sound much closer. All the craziest looking stuff estelario does, only sounds like it does due to the ead10, and compression and trickery. When he does that stuff on a kit that's micd normally, it doesn't sound like that at all. And I bring this up over m over n over again, and still nobody sees it or sees it as a thing
Honestly doing the each limb doing something different is probably the hardest thing to practice for sure. But once you get it you got it, then you can tweak it. It’s crazy you got these though, I can’t, no where close lol. That second one is bonkers
Part 2 required. Plus I second trying to get you 2 to Collab. I want to see El Estepario running some Tenor Madness, or maybe some split screen bassline riffs.
I wanna see a part 2. And you don't have bongos? I don't have a drumset and I have bongo -s- (i just have one, but hey. I was in pit, and then played cymbals in college 'cause they didn't have a pit.) I hope El Estepario shows up in the comments to cheer you on!
Who else wants to see El Estepario play some of EMC's tenor contraptions!!
The ideal mashup.
Drumset tenors edit: thank you for not being one of those “👇” people
No one
@@martymcfly696 not only are you factually incorrect. You're also rude. Congratulations.

He uses a drum key on the floor tom to raise up the fulcrum for the gravity beat on the cowbell.
he realized after he zoomed in while editing
@@whoathatcombo I still wanted to comment it for people who didn't pickup on it.
huh I never noticed

Literally the only drummer who saw EES and dared to say "bet let's play it." Everyone else just says "I'm throwing away my drums."
The thing I love about El Estepario is that he legitimately looks like he is having an absolute blast anytime he is playing the drums.
Playing the drums does feel really good. You're like channeling the rhythm through your entire body. Hard to explain but it feels great. Unless you are a drummer & already know what I'm talking about.

Actually, this. It's much more encouraging to see a good drummer like emc struggling in process because it feels real and achievable
it's may
Love that you show all the approach. It's so frustrating for me doing even the dumbest shit really slow, but seeing you doing it for this seemingly impossible grooves made me accept that it is normal and I have to be more patient. Back to the drums!
I appreciate you actually showing the practice, lots of people forget that it is the bread and butter of playing and getting better...
Talk about accuracy, on that first groove he's leveraging off the drum key on the floor tom to do a one handed roll on the cowbell. Bonkers. Good stuff dude :)
I won’t lie, it is very humbling watching you learn this slowly and the beginning phases. Makes me remember that I’m not going slow forever.
Thanks for showcasing what real practice looks like and takes! I'll be sharing this with some of my students
Man is seriously gravity blasting a cowbell. Instant goat
With the drum key as the pivot point, hella cleaver
That's why El Estepario Siberiano is the goat imo. He's not just really technically skilled, and a great showman, but he's also hella creative.
You don't need to gravity blast it, just play really fast
W
So anyone good on cowbell is a goat ? Drumming world is screwed
This might be my favorite of all your videos. That was amazing, fun, funny, and inspiring.
My favorite RUclips is musicians practicing and working stuff out.
I like how you show the process of learning and struggles, many drum channels lack that
really cool to see you work through a tough groove! I'd love to see more stuff like that. I always have trouble judging how much I should expect to have to practice to learn a thing, so it's good to see other people do it too
That was great great fun! It's always good to see the process. I'd love to see another video like this one.
Definitely need a part 2 for this

Good for you for even attempting this, let alone actually accomplishing it. That was impressive.

Eric please try to do a colab with this man, it would be legendary
erm he did one more measure with the high hat than he was supposed to 🤓☝
The cowbell roll was CLEEAANN

Very impressive EMC! And it’s way less than 5% of drummers that can come close to playing this stuff!!
it's just great seeing a real guy break down tiktok nonsense part by part. Lehigh valley wassup!
