Older drummers (like me) who were raised on the Muppet Show know Animal has magic drumming powers. It's never talked about, but we all know. S tier. Always.

The Patron commercial: It is a technique originally from Flamenco. Yes one is doing downbeats and another does upbeats. (I took Flamenco for 9 months and was a Mexican folk dancer for 12 years)
Nandy Bushnell played with foo fighters recently and had a drum battle with dave grohl. she is amazing!
Splitting that??? Yes!! Listen to some of the «palmas» in Spanish flamenco and occasionally latin in other music. They are amazing at splitting 16th notes and syncopated rhythms. Take the speed to 25 and watch the hands of the rotating trio. Yep!! I LOVE IT!!
@9:26 a couple of the people I drum with in Orlando drove down to Miami for that Remy Martin Serena Williams commercial shoot. If I remember correctly It was $1000 bucks for the all day shoot, and they had a bigger section filmed, but they literally edited it down to 2 flams 😂. You can see one of the guys I work with’s (Jason) drum on the left, but that’s a “She” playing the flams fully in the shot

Just want to point out, whenever Phil Collins plays In The Air Tonight live he always plays the fill (or Phil if you want) as all double stops
you could call it Phil’s fill
And I’ve seen it somewhere that it’s actually flams, and I always heard it as flams. The gorilla ad is absolutely spot on with the drumming.

The Argos commercial featured Nadi Bushell (the younger girl) who is an actual drummer. She beat Dave Grohl in a viral drum-off and even played Everlong perfectly live with Foo Fighters. She also played In Bloom by Nirvana perfectly on the Ellen Show. And if that wasn’t enough, Dave Grohl himself named her “the most badass drummer in the world.”
So yeah… better than the Kars for Kids “musicians”

I didn’t know the thing about having the triangle clip closer to the triangle. I also thought it should be close but my band teacher has always had it really far away for some reason. It actually got worse after a middle school percussionist broke the clip and the replaced it with a longer one. I always thought it should be closer because it’s always dangling but I never questioned it.
I was in an add for raising canes that had a drum line not much there to talk about but still would be cool to see you review it

Side note on the Argos ad: using “book of dreams” as a slogan may well be a deliberate reference to a classic bit from one of Bill Bailey’s standup sets where he describes it as “the laminated book of dreams”. For, well, arcane British reasons that would take too long to explain.

4:52 I'd love to know how old those kids are in the Kars for Kids commercial! They may all be out of high school by now! This is what I found in a google search: Founded in 1995, Kars 4 Kids released its first version of the jingle on New York radio stations in 1999.
I never knew Kars 4 Kids did anything but radio ads. I always turn the radio off when I hear that da BUM da BUM.

Just when you think you’re rid of the terrible Kars 4 Kids commercial, it comes back to haunt you forever.
That said, the girl in the next commercial is one Nandi Buschell (apologies if I spelt that wrong). She’s truly amazing. How good, you ask? Let me say this: I’ve been playing drums since I was 3. I’m 27 now, so that’s 25 years. I could use a lesson from her, and I’m not ashamed to say that.

I can confirm your theory. I play the guitar and my sister plays the violin, and I know a couple of other kids who play the drums and keyboard.

Not a commercial, but my winds group was featured in Episode 4 of the TV show Under The Banner of Heaven during a parade scene. I haven't seen it personally, but apparently the cymbals are off from the audio, they pulled video from different takes so there's shots of us marching straight and the trombones using the correct positions, and shots of us bobbing back and forth and trombones maximizing motion instead of correct positions, and the audio has heavilly prominent instruments that we did not have on set.

He wasn't playing triangle wrong he literally invented two new tones on an instrument we all thought only had two. And that indeed should be A teir because that is exactly what I sound like behind a kit and walking around my house.
there is technique playing the triangle 😂. People have no idea how much technique is involved in classical percussion.

4:57 as a 13 year old violinist the violin performing is so cursed you could believe it rose from the fiery flames of hell itself. the bow is way too tight, the shifting is blasphemous and she isnt hitting any of the notes she is playing. also the bow hold is completely devious.

The guitar in the Kars for kids wasn't even touching the guitar, and as a piano player in band, it made me cringe so hard when they zoomed in on the girl playing the piano just resting her hand on the keyboard
