Thank you to those of you that pointed out he is using two snares. I thought he had the snares disengaged on first listen (which is why I called it a tom) but on closer examination the snares are engaged but very loose. Thanks for pointing that out everyone!
He's played with bands, created a huge following on social media and now has his own band, The Cost, that have released two singles that are great. From what I've read from other drummers the duelist pedal is extremely tricky to master. Of course he has mastered it and incorporated it flawlessly while doing crazy technical stuff with his upper body. So tasty, so amazing.
Loved how you took the time to break down what he was doing - not a lot reactors to his video do that. Welcome to the EES (Jorge) rabbit hole! There are so many of his videos to recommend, Godzilla would be a great one love to hear your feedback (there’s a lot going on)
Cool, thanks!
right now he is the best drummer in the world
He is reinventing drumming/precucussion, with dedication, showing other's just what is possible when thinking outside the box.
We don't need to discuss timing, cause he's a living metronome.
But to young drumming kids out there, he's an absolute inspiration.
No such thing as 'best drummer'. He's reinventing it thou.
Well, that's why he's the groovefather.😂
yep
No doubts.
Indeed
Next one I suggest his Eminem’s Godzilla drum cover. He is unbelievable. First time hearing him was an Aha drum cover, the musicality, independence, and technique of Jorge is simply amazing.
If you want to know more about him I suggest you to take a look at his 1M subscribers video, there he explains a lot about his life his work ethic and how he has become the groove father.
Yes he played for a couple of years with Saratoga (Spanish Heavy Metal Band), before deciding to dedicate himself to his RUclips channel.
He has a couple of courses on Drumeo one to how to become faster, and the other one on how to improve and train independence.
If you want to have fun there is also a playlist of one handed drumming short videos that are also pretty impressive.
As you noticed it’s not just because he can play a gravity blast, it’s the fact that he can play those with an incredible consistency in sound. Only one secret:
8h training per day.
He just got his first release of his new band The Cost yesterday.
Please check his cover of SOAD Toxicity in a handpan, it begins whit a disclaimer too😅
And his Thriller cover.
Godzilla my god! I thought the blinding lights cover was his best then I saw Godzilla.
Seconded, if you think this is mindblowing, what he did with Godzilla is on another planet.
His drumming is truly mesmerizing. I don't play an instrument but he makes me want to play something so bad! So much endless practice to get to this level you cant help but appreciate the skill.
Would love to see some more breakdowns of his songs. Baddadan, and the bongo impossible song are my two favs.
Shawka, not a lot of reaction video creators actually add something besides jaw dropping ooohhhh's and awwwws. They add nothing and just capitalize on us clicking for EES. I was impressed with what you caught. Immediately the Flams etc. When you watch Eminem's Godzilla, you will have so much to talk about. I won't give it away but hints: an upside down snare, a snare on the floor and the way, especially in the middle how EES follows Eminem's cadence with the super fast rap he's known for. Never heard this song before and I have to get my fix. You will be blown away and you will become an EES ADDICT, like me.
Truly appreciate your comments 🙏
We will definitely be checking out more of EES too!
Everything you described can all be summed up in one word, Groovefather!
He is the Grovefather, absolute MASTER DRUMMER.
Great reaction, excellent breakdown!
Thank you SVR!
It is shocking when you see it the first time 😅
Saw a clip someone freebooted off you on tiktok but had to come watch the full thing. One thing about about EES is that (imo) he tends to overdo it a bit in a lot of his covers. Which is fair, he's a phenomenal technical drummer and that's what people are coming to see. This song in particular though really shows his musicality. Everything about this is just perfect for the song and it sounds incredible.
Any chance you could share the link to that tik Tok?

Another very impressive drummer for you to check out. Chris Turner. The guy is a machine. He is the drummer for a band called Oceans Ate Alaska but he has solo stuff as well. He takes pride in his precision and not using triggers or snap to grid in the editing and recording process. I'd say start with his song called 40 roll. And maybe his song called triggered ft Thomas Lang
You can't blink, if you do you miss it!
Yeah, see him wipe that sweat off? He may be a monster, but his neurons were still cooking.
Ever notice he has his eyes closed most of the song
Your best reaction thus far.
every time u hear this song u r gonna long for his cover. he just makes it so much better....
Last week, just for shits & giggles, I listened to the original for the first time. I fell asleep. It was so anemic and empty, no fills, no 16th notes on the cymbals and no Dualist Single/Double pedal. I missed EES so much in that 4 minutes. Played EES's version for my fix.
I agree. First time I have seen a drum cover improve the original song. Incredible.
He has a new video with first song of his new band The Cost.
If you think this is good, check out his Muse or Eminem cover. This is just warmup.
No one else doing it at he time he recorded this. These are new techniques. And it is INSANE!!
As a drummer of 50 years.
Wow , a magician with drum’s sticks. 🥁The Groove Father taking drumming to another level 💪🏻
I see so many comments about look at this song or this song, man just browse on his channel you'll never get deceived
Watch his video he did celebrating his 1 million subscribers and he tells u about his journey.
If you want to know more about this generational talent, he released a video describing his upbringing called
MY STORY - HOW I MADE 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS
When he says, "The drums were always there for me," I lost it. Everything in life was going wrong, but the drums were always there for him.
And to thank the drums, he beats the shit out of them 8 hours a day! He is an incredible person and a beast.
He does some of his craziest fills in my opinion in his cover of "Misery Business" by Paramore. Underrated cover as well and soooo good! Few years old but he was crazy good even back then
Welcome to the rabbits hole of ESS, there so much to enjoy.......
Amigo, siempre veo las reacciones a mi amado Dimash y te aprecio por eso, acabo de suscribirme a tu canal y te di mi Like, porque tambien amo este chico , se llama Jorge Garrido tiene 27 años y es de Valencia España, es unico en la Bateria, deberias ver Through The Fire And Flamer DrangonForce Drum Cover , Battery Metallica, quedaras impresionado, y tambien quedaras impresionado con lo ultimo que presento mi querido Dimash "When I´ve Got You" es MV precioso, ojala puedas reaccionar, muchos saludos desde Chile
❤❤🇪🇸🇪🇸🤷♂️
You should check out his versions of "Everybody dance now" and "Baddadan". Just insane
another jaw dropper:
christ turner ft. thomas lang - triggered

unedited one take recording. unbelieveable!
To point out the fact that this guy has to have 4 brains to manage his 4 limbs to play like this. Whatever happens from the waste up don’t forget what happens simultaneously from the waste down. While he is doing all the ridiculous things with his hands he has the discipline to change from a single to double pedal and keep it all together
Great incredibly interesting reaction. Love that you really took the time to break things down or just watch in wonder. He has 3.64 million subs on RUclips...as a drummer. Imagine what this is doing for drum recognition. A personal fav of mine is his cover of "Gangnam Style" link follows: ruclips.net/video/NlMVLj8BzcM/видео.html
if you like this watch his TAKE ON ME | A-HA | DRUM COVER. It if also quite fantastic.
I've been watching this guy for a couple of years. I think he's the best drummer on the planet right now.
Regardless of the other three this guy has people hostage watching him play I have had no interest in ever watching anyone play I love all music but I can watch this guy play all dam day I believe he is the best myself also who else has reaction videos like him I’ll hold 🤔poetry in motion a true Artis at his craft and a strait savage 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🏻✌🏻
@@corneliusblackwood9014 I bet you're a blast at parties.
@@corneliusblackwood9014 name the 4 other guys.
I saw one of his old videos about what he like .......does in a day......one of those ....... documentaries. And I swear......when I saw that video, I immediately thought of Mike Tyson....... cuz Estapario's work schedule and ethic was very similar to Mikes. ie.......he wakes up early, goes for a run, practices........lifts weights.......goes to bed....... repeat
The thing I was most impressed with is that this is a zero cut video. He did all of that, ALL of it, with not a single mistake.
5:56 - He is extremely consistent, because he quite literally sits on his kit all day and does nothing but practice. Hes a machine.
My personal favorite drum covers of his after Blinding Lights are his second version of The Bongo Song (labelled as "the Impossible Song") and his handpan covers of Toxicity by SOAD and Snuff by Slipknot. His one-handed drumming compilation video is outstanding too as well as his cover of Godzilla by Eminem which is also full of really cool techniques.
I've seen about 20 reactions of this video... but man, really enjoyed your analysis.
I appreciate that!
They are Both Snares. Gold is a deeper tuned
I can not wait for you to do his new one. It’s absolutely mental
Subscribed for more El Estebario
Melhor baterista do planeta é impossível um ser humano normal fazer o que esse cara faz , pode treinar 10 , 20,30 anos não faz é impressionante!!!!
In a lot of other videos he's playing the sixteenths with only one stick.
And about the dualist pedal... the switching between double and single is both done with his heel. But to double mode is by a lever on the right and to single mode is by a lever on the left.
And btw... in a few other reaction videos, people mentioned that it took him about 70 takes to record this video. But still... so impressive 😅
Wait until you see what he can do with just one hand
human drum machine
1:57 Shawka: "How many takes before he got that flip down?"
Everyone already familiar with the El Estepario Siberiano: "Don't worry about that first flip."
16:55 also, you’ve probably found it by now, but it’s 2 sticks playing open chopsticks on the hat
You really, REALLY need to watch his take on Gangnam Style… It’s just sooo good!
Welcome to the club!
Just move on folks, nothing special going on here..... everyone on his planet can do that....
Great reaction. His precision to be able to be so clean and consistent on every hit is insane. Efficiency of movement is godlike.
he reminds me a band i loved to listen when younger ─ Rufio ─ and dang, his way of playing reminds me Mike from Rufio 🤤
if this blows your mind you should check out his compilations of 1hand playing songs, you need a new set of boxers after lol
He can do stick flips playing with his eyes closed, he has videos doing it. And the hand cupping is so smooth , without positioning the change with the stick. And if you watch when he does a stick flip he changes hands and pulls out another stick in smooth ease
He goes from 16th notes on the High Hat to 16th notes on the Stack as well. 2 sticks in his right hand to keep 16th notes on the stack. Obviously in order to keep 16th notes with 1 hand is to have 2 sticks. 1 to hit the bottom of the stack and 1 to hit the top at the same time.
Also his position of his core never shifts around, very rarely have I watched other drummers keep in such a relaxed position as he does
He use to play in a metal Spanish band called Saratoga
He played for few years in that band, but he's not anymore.
Now he's got a new band. The cost. Check it out.
"Highly impresssiv"........no it is world class ;-)
I believe he is using two snares, the gold one is deeper and tuned down. The left one is the typical snare.
5:26 playing with two drum sticks in his right and…what a beast..
If you look close at the triple stick part he is actually playing the top with one stick and the bottom with the other. That's how he can play the notes that fast one handed
Great to get such a detailed breakdown of this epic video. As someone without any background in drumming I really appreciate hearing detailed analysis of why what's happening is so incredible.
Glad you enjoyed it!
16:00 he switches it on with his heel on the right side,, switches it off with his heel on the left side of the pedal.. and each switch press is an actual hit as well
El is the master of percussion and he’s very humble
This dude is the white version of MrLboyd change my mind
He's proof aliens exsist
This is what practices rewards you with. Also raw talent.
Please check out his cover of through the fire and flames it is godly
I've watched many El Estepario Siberiano reaction videos, and I must say you pay extraordinary attention to the details. Cheers.
Thanks! 😃
Hi, he uses triggers, but yes he is super on time which is most impressive
And he taught himself to play
He got rejected by a band because he was 2 young.
The one the only Druminator
Like other people commented we watched a few breakdowns, but yours is the best.
Thank you so much for that!
Do the bongo song plzzz it is one of his bast songs 🙏
Look close he is rim hitting both snares
His symbol grabs are epic.
This is why he is the GOAT
5 head drummer
Best breakdown by far. Thank you so much, subbed instantly!
Awesome, thank you!
@@ShawkaReacts you are most welcome 😊👍
"That is insane", that's why I keep viewing reactions. Good breakdown!
He's just released his first song with his new band last week, the drums are played for the song though, not to showcase his talent. Check out his channel if you want to see how good he is. He really is something else like. He absolutely awesome.
You also might want to check out his One Handed Drumming Vol.1
I wish I had the coordination to be half as good as this guy. I love when certain instruments stand out in songs in the best way possible, it’s so hard to be original nowadays. Truly shows his talent to be innovative on instruments that have been around for thousands of years.
That fill at 19:30 in your video is my favorite part of Jorge’s interpretation of this song.
fantastic breakdown. Best I've seen so far.
Wow, thanks!
