I thought I was a drummer. I played in the Kennedy Center when I was 17. All State band 4 years in a row. First chair all-county 4 years in a row. Jazz bands. Rock bands. You name it. I am humbled to say that I knew nothing about the possibilities of drumming. This guy makes my heart sing!
I have played guitar for over 30 years. One of my best friends is a great drummer. He put me onto Estepario. Needless to say, my friend feels exactly the same as you. His exact words were, "I play drums everyday, it's my true passion. I consider myself above-average in skill. This man's (Estepario) talent is what I consider to be GOD TIER. I can't even wrap my head around how he is this good."

and theres something thats gonna happen. every time. when u hear blinding lights, the original, u r gonna think of this cover. i actually like this one better. he listens to anything and he just makes it beter. hes a genius.
The thing he does with his right hand is called a «Gravitiy Blast». You use the rim of the drum as a pivot point when moving his hand up to get another hit. This way you get two hits from a movement you normally just get one. His Control is just out of this world!
So glad you got to see this bro! I’ve followed EES since March 2020 when he “only had” about 25k followers and subscribers across all platforms, and now he has almost 3.5 million on each. He’s entered a new realm where he’s being reacted to by a wide range of people, to include people that don’t know anything about drums, but they can’t stop watching.

This guy, just keeps blowing my mind, any song, and i mean ANY song, he just kills it, he makes everything better, its phenominal, and then he does it whilst lighting a cigi, or drink coffee or beer, he's the untimate master of precussion, even made a drumophone, electric drum plus bass, its unhuman nearly, robot drumming at 600bpm got nothing on this guy, seen him on the tripple pedal? Holy fk!
that tecnhique is called gravity blast - the one handed stroke roll. It's just crazy. that's a buddy rich technique
What's insane is that while he's doing the gravity blast with his right hand he's also doing a short one with his left. I noticed it after maybe the 3rd time I viewed this, maybe because there is so much going on I didn't see it at first. While there's no way I can achieve his level, I've been cherry picking some of his ideas. 🤙🤙

6:47 a gente chama essa técnica de Blast Beat na bateria.. é uma tecnica muito usada no heavy metal e black metal para atingir velocidades ainda mais rápidas so com uma mão. É muito parecida com uma tecnica que também se faz no pedal para "fingir" ser um pedal duplo, so arrastando o pé de um lado pro outro com a ponta na sapata do pedal. Então na caixa para fazer uma batida rápida ao inves de fazer com as duas mãos, se faz com o auxilio do aro da caixa.

The reason we like reaction videos is because we already dig this a lot, but then we also get to see others being blown away by the same stuff.
Keep in mind while he does all the dualist work with his right foot, and all the crazy stuff up top, he is still working his high hat with his left foot.

There is a short of him out there (something like "proof I am a computer") where he plays 16ths with his left, 3rds with the base drum, 4ths with the high hats, and 5ths with the right hand. It is not funny how on point he is!

It always fun watching anyone that dedicated to their craft.
What most people dont realize. His style of drumming and the Kit takes a lo and i mean ALOT of physical power. Must be draining AF. F.e. his single padel double paddel uses ofc 2 beaters. And each beater has its own spring. So with one foot he needs the power of twon feet. Meanwhile the other feet still is used either on the highhat or a different base/snare/bell(he uses lots of stuff on that feet). His legs and feets have to hurt like hell.

He’s using the ‘push-pull’ method of single hand stick beats playing. Basically, that enables the player to play TWO beats on the drum with one single downstroke.
It's called a gravity blast, when he "double" hit the drums 🤘

Disclaimer: I have no damn rhythm and zero musical ability. I can hold a simple tune if you nail it to my hand... sometimes. So I could be entirely wrong about this, but it LOOKS like when he's using the stick to hit the side of the snare drum, he's ALSO hitting the top of the drum with his hand/fingers.

Gravity blast is awesome
You think he’s hitting the stick on the snare. But he’s not. He’s hitting the edge of the drum while he able to hit the snare with the other stick. Appears to be hitting the stick but never making contact with either sticks. His limp dependents is insane.

I think the dude in your chat mentioned it there, but that trick he does where he's rolling his right stick off of his left stick on his snare is called a gravity blast. It's just that most (read: literally every other drummer) does it by rolling their stick off of the rim of the snare. I've been playing music almost as long as this guy has been alive, and I have never, ever seen anyone do a gravity blast off of their own stick before him. He really is the John Wick of drums, and he's only in his 20's. It's both mesmerizing and infuriating. And yeah, those Duallist pedals are really difficult to get the hang of. They make them with three beaters as well. They're so hard to use it's almost not it. He's a sorcerer with that thing.

What ure talking about at around 7th min of the video is called gravity beat... he is not hitting with back of the stick, he is using it to make like a roll beat with single stick... it's hard to explain. It's like a double roll with 2 sticks, but he is doing it with one stick...crazy!
Appreciate the explanation. It's very interesting what he does. I don't know much about drumming, but even the blind can tell he's incredibly skilled.
