While a new Lenovo driver came out around the time you posted this, I have been just using the official drivers. You have to do it manually and pick the 780M drivers and install the control centre separately as well, but it does mean I can keep it up to date without relying on Lenovo.
People keep complaining about the 1600. I mean for God's sake it's just an added feature. Use it on 800p and stop talking about this as if it was a disadvantage.
I’m gonna wait for the new one to release to see the improvements they’ve made on the Lenova Legion Go 2. And decide whether or not to make a purchase…as of right now my Steam Deck OLED does a great job how It won’t play COD due to the Anti-cheats. But I do not want to install windows on my Deck. So in the mean time I’ll play COD on my PC 😅.
Considering the software support that the Legion Go is getting at the moment, I wouldn't immediately get the 2nd one, probably worth waiting a few months after the launch to see what kind of support it gets.
Let me put it this way, if there was no such thing as a Lenovo Legion Go, I would still be without a Gaming Handheld! Why, because I have a High powered Tower Pc, I have a Lenovo Legion Pro 5i laptop, I have a Metaquest 3 VR headset, and a 10.6 Lenovo tablet! I'm covered, so why would a want a gaming handheld? Simple! Can't play AAA games in the car while I'm waiting around for whatever! Can't play AAA games while I'm traveling! Nothing i bought allowed me to play AAA games on the go in the spur of the moment! Can't use my Meta Quest portably! The desktop is at home, the laptop always needs 5-10 minutes of setup before I can game, and by the time i'm done, I only have a certain amount of time before I need to pack it up again! The tablet doesn't play pc games, nor does my phone! I'm one of those shoppers who wants to get the most out of my money, so when I found out the Legion Go was basically a mini-pc with a 8.8 inch touchscreen and you could also detach the controller, with a kickstand, I was sold! Wasn't in the market before, even with the Ally with it's permanently attached controllers, it was always going to stay a gaming handheld! With the Go, it's a minipc, a laptop of a sort, a tablet, a gaming handheld 4-in-1! Oh, and now my Metaquest 3 VR headset is now portable thanks to my Legion Go! There's so much the Go has to offer that those others do not in flexibility! I'm an IT Tech, and I go by specs, not because i'm some damn fanboy of something that burns out your SD cards and will still smile about it and forgive! That's just stupid! Fyi, this is the not biggest screen in the current market! That goes to the Onexplayer X1! That sucker has a 10.95 inch display, which is way to big for me! Kinda looks goofy too, when the detachable controllers on the side are way smaller than the display in size, LOL! It does have 32gb of vram to use, so there's that! Screen is still too big, though! I'll end up getting carpel tunnel just holding it up! Good thing is, I saved some money by not buying the Onexplayer, so I ended up getting the new Viture Pro AR glasses recently, so that solves the screen size issue. How's 135 inches of screen, LoL! Charging is also not a problem thanks to 2 usb type c inputs on the Go which the others don't have! Look at all I can do around the Lenovo Legion Go! No brainer to me! And whatever this David says, Lenovo has the best tech suport out there as he's not even comparing the others! Asus, HP, Dell, MSI, they all suck! All from India! Reading scripted guideline manual's every time you call them! Nobody probably ever worked on pc before in their lives! I'm a tech, and I never call these losers! However Lenovo does have some knowledgable people, and if you get there extended warranties, you actually get to talk to techs working on your devices, how crazy is that! I own 3 lenovo products, so I know! And Lenovo will keep extending your warranties for as long as you own your product! And really decent prices too! The others do not offer this! Seriously, they don't! And if you already have an extended warranty, the support screen will show you an accidental damage coverage for like $65.00 for a year! That means you drop it out a window on the 2nd floor, they'll fix, or replace it! No questions asked! Nice, huh!
dude the legion go or handhelds are for people on budget, people who can’t afford to carry a big laptop who want something portable and for mac users who wants to be able to play windows games. Gaming handhelds isn’t for everyone, it doesn’t fit into everyone’s life but there are some people who appreciate it
@@jamesikhimioya562 he said he actually likes it but not for conventional reasons, he uses it as a 4 in one device and to boost some of his meta quest 3 gaming experiences. Though I don’t blame you for not reading all of that.
Lol the only reason I don't have a legion go is because I can't afford it so there's that 😂😂😂. But I think having a legion go is a no Brainer it truly is. It just needs more time on the market to get better optimized I'll gladly pick this over a ps5 and xbox or a PC any day any time
Initially I ws planning to buy Steamdeck due to it's vast library and compatibility with games but the only downside is, it doesn't have windows pre installed. Since some of my games are non steam like Epic games store. But when I saw the specs of this bad boy I was enticed. Been eyeing this for awhile now. Might consider buying Legion instead within this year.
Same! Even after getting the Legion I was still eyeing the Deck OLED just because of the console-like experience and battery, but the actual performance delta is keping me away for now :)
Vast library? How about anything on PC and switch, any or all emulators you can get your hands on can be run on the Go! All, except for exclusives om the other platforms. So why buy a Steamdeck, lol?
I wanted to play Wuthering Waves so had to go with Windows and I have to say this device performs outstandingly, I play at max settings in performance mode with no stutters or frame rate drops, the screen is gorgeous and beats it's competitors hands down, especially for open world games like Genshin and WuWa. I notice the ROGAlly X has very little to offer over the original so for me it's a no brainer. It looks as good as my PS Portal if not better and without all the WiFi streaming issues. Battery is poor so it's always plugged in for performance
Thanks for watching! For Frame Generation your best bet is to make sure you have the latest GPU drivers, and use In-game frame generation. "Official" frame gen from AMD isn't working for the Legion Go, so the only other choice for games without built-in frame gen is to use "Lossless Scaling" app from Steam.
Thanks for the review ... in the UK the Legion Go (512gb) is going for the same price as the ROG Ally X (1tb) .... £700 ... i love the LLG's big screen and look in general ... but i heard the ARAX has better speed and is probably a bit more powerful ... is it worth sacrificing the screen for the performance !? It will be my first handheld gaming device in years ! I'll mainly be using it at home playing RPG's like The Witcher 3, RDR 2, Ghost of Tsushima, POP The Lost Crown and Elden Ring ......
FYI FOR PEOPLE ON THE LEGION GO LIKE MYSELF OR ROG ALLY . If you have any issues on external controllers , games crashing , games not sizing to the screen correctly etc... most of my fixes have been to me not launching games through the legion go software . Same on my GF rog ally . When launching straight out of steam everything consistently works as intended . Mush less tinkering involved . So what i do is i dont launch the legion go software when windows sign in and instead have big picture mode on steam automatically launch . Every now and then i will launch the legion go app for updates .
@matthewwain9958 yeah it's in the settings. It switches the upper 2 left and right buttons ( legion button and tdp/settings button) with the two lower left Start and select button
I don't even use Legion space, it's pointless. I download from steam to desktop and launch from there. I don't get why you would even use Legion space 🤷 everything that it does, you can already do through most games menu settings.
I got it from Amazon as well, about $10, it's just a 3D printed thing, nothing special Tbh, would love to see actual manufactured accessories first/third party

I've got mine since the launch day and I love it but with Lossless Scaling and FG is absolutely amazing. The only issue is Lenovo needs to improve their software and the drivers.

I have the Lenovo Y700 tablet which uses the same screen and I can tell you it blows both the SD OLED and the Ally screens out of the water. You'd have a hard time telling it's not an OLED unless you have them side by side and look really closely. Btw those prices that you showed are no where to be found in Europe. In Germany the LGo is consistently 15-20% more expensive than the Ally.
That's interesting. They are equally priced in Norway. Alloy X is $1100. SD OLED too. They aren't as available here, so they price them really high due to import fees.
Which sd card for the legion go is pretty much irrelevant as the software running the sd card slot is garbage. Like seriously how does a slot 3 generations newer (llg) run at half the speed of the slot in the steam deck.
Ehhh I have one currently and don’t really enjoy it, the audio is horrible, most games I don’t know how to tweak, I mean it’s not like I’m old I’m 28 and pretty tech savvy but it’s having to adjust EVERY SINGLE GAME, idk whether to be playing most games on 1280, 1920, or 2560, it’s just been annoying
Honestly it’s a good system I had all of them… but I gotta say this has the worst speakers compared to my ally, msi claw and the steam deck…. The sound from the handheld itself is shitty
The legion go is the current king.
I sold my deck oled shortly after buying the Legion Go
I have used the Ally, Deck and Legion Go and I gotta say the same. The Legion wins in my case.

@@verydavid ok thank you 🙌
where do you get the decal for your legion go
It's from amazon, made by Popskin!
Sir you shouldn't have sold your PC 😞. Things are getting expensive.
Haha, too late I guess :)
Thanks for watching!
Привлекает это портативка из-за режима планшета, спокойно можно смотреть фильмы или ютуб, читать например пока не играешь в игры😮
$399 on amazon yesterday but now back to $499
Does it get stick drift
The Lego has Hall effect sensors which means you would be incomprehensibly unlucky if you had stick drift
Which sd card for the legion go is pretty much irrelevant as the software running the sd card slot is garbage. Like seriously how does a slot 3 generations newer (llg) run at half the speed of the slot in the steam deck.
It needs VRR, less resolution or better scaling up and please, OLED screen. I can´t bear these IPS screens with greys as blacks. buah.
Yes the go is the best
You look like the man of my dreams
yes
Stopped listening to this guy soon as he said that handheld device “far outweighs the advantages of a proper tower gaming PC. Absolute NONSENSE.
how so?
Lenovo support is 5 * for me
Replacing yours main gaming PC was not the best idea 😅
You'll also need to carry a big power bank, with all that extra weight, just use a gaming laptop.
True, but I guess both have their pros and cons, to each their own I guess!
Bro clean ur skin no offense but i see some dirt but its better to clean it
I guess some games aren't really enjoyable on this device, like World of Warcraft?
Ehhh I have one currently and don’t really enjoy it, the audio is horrible, most games I don’t know how to tweak, I mean it’s not like I’m old I’m 28 and pretty tech savvy but it’s having to adjust EVERY SINGLE GAME, idk whether to be playing most games on 1280, 1920, or 2560, it’s just been annoying
Good vid
dude just get a gaming laptop
Worth every penny
Somewhat agree, haha!
Honestly it’s a good system I had all of them… but I gotta say this has the worst speakers compared to my ally, msi claw and the steam deck…. The sound from the handheld itself is shitty
Yep, the speakers aren't the greatest, and the fact that they're not forward facing makes a big difference as well.
Which one is your favorite?
Bro is that a real casing?
