NO you didn't waste your money, you'd be surprised at the Legion Go's capabilities, but first you MUST make sure to make some important changes to your bios settings before you get into load heavy titles, to do so first press your power button when the device is off, then hold volume up, then choose bios settings, now that you're in the bios set up screen at bottom right of screen choose more settings then choose configuration, then change UMA frame buffer size to 8G, make sure maximum memory data clock speed is set to 7500 MT/S then make sure you have enabled SMT mode (multithreading mode) and lastly set you core number to 8, games will run way better because out of the box it is not set this way and you do not get its full capabilities until you make the necessary settings changes.
I’m about to purchase a LG as well in July(When I come back from my trip in June) just for games Windows can play. I have a OLED SD as well, but I want them separated. I don’t want to Dual Boot my SD to have Windows on it. Thanks for *THIS* great tip!
Recently, I picked up a Steam Deck OLED 1TB for my birthday. I have say, that thing is AWESOME. It has officially become my favorite way to play my Steam games. I just feel bad for my gaming PC, because I’ve been using the Steam Deck so much more. I’d be curious to see how the Lenovo Legion Go compares to the ASUS ROG Ally.
The Lenovo Go has a tiny bit more power in terms of fps, but its right there with the Ally. Both beat the Steam Deck, but the Steam Deck OS beats them all. It's just the deck OS is not compatible with all games, especially games with anti cheat implementations.
I had Legion Go since it launched in 2023. I chose this one, because it also works as a Windows/Android (Bluestacks) tablet, laptop and desktop PC. It also have 2 x USB 4.0 USB-C ports, support for generic eGPU etc. With cheap dock you can also connect it to a TV and Monitor.
All these people who're sporting non Legos have no idea of the advantages of 2 type c usb's! I connect my power to the bottom using a side profile type c cable (L shape) and if you tilt using the built-in stand it gives enough clearance. I see no reason to have a dock and if I want to go full on desktop then I picked up a baseus hub with a u shape adapter that just snakes down the back side so you don't even see the cables! How's that for cable management!
@@Longjumping-War2484 2 proper USB-C Ports sure is a blessing. I use a Angled 240W USB-C Adapter on the bottom. I connected a Samsung 2.TB SSD to that port and strapped it on to kickstand. I never see the SSD as it's "hidden" on the big backside. ;) I use power on top USB, but i also have a USB-C Dock with keyboard, mouse etc. and a HDMI cable so i can connect Legion Go to TV or Monitor. People say Steam Deck, Ally can also be used for desktop, but those handheld's don't support 2560 x 1600 or even close. 800p for desktop is not a good thing. As for Rog Ally USB... The official Dock have one USB 2.0 port. What were they thinking?
How'd you strap it in? I got a usb4/thunderbolt/enclosure for my Samsung 980 pro and just using velcro stick-ons! Works like a charm! I have yet to see anybody on Reddit talking about Velcro! They talk about modding the chassis, magnetic, etc! Dude, Velcro stickers is like 3-18 bucks a roll! Absolutely does not fall off. So velcro my ssd, my hub, external battery! No RUclips video about doing it, lol! I do this with my laptop and my Metaquest 3! Best part is velcro stickons doesn't scratch! And you can peel them of If you move them around! And doesn't void the warranty! Got a 3 year warranty on mine. Was like $56.00 bucks. And it's local drop-off! Have a 4 year on my Legion laptop!
@@Longjumping-War2484 Google "Samsung T7 Shield SSD". Then you can see why the rubber bands will sit in place, unlike on the older T7 where the SSD would slide off the stand. I will swap to Velcro as it's better in the long run, thank you. They sell those here as i just checked. I prefer this external solution too so i don't need to mod anything. There is people who have swapped out the internal SSD, but some SSD's caused problems. An external USB-C SSD won't cause any problem at all, and will cause 0% extra heat on Go as it's on the kickstand. ;)
Steam Deck single handedly got me to play on a "Gaming Console" for my first time since the Super Nintendo, AND, got me to ditch windows entirely and switch to Linux. I still do a TON of gaming on my (now Linux) desktop, but I use my Steam Deck a lot for more casual feeling games also.
Linux compatibility has come a long way but still not enough to replace my gaming PC, especially on old games. Also lowkey I still like windows, I don't want to have to look up linux terminal commands when I'm not at work.
@@lukasg4807If you do your setup properly after the original Steam install, you shouldn't need terminal commands. Only issue is that certain distributors actively hate any form of Linux support and it isn't just worth the trouble to try and get their launchers to reliably run. E.g. be prepared to nuke any games of EA, Ubisoft, Gajin Entertainment , Activision Blizzard, Bungie or Wargaming.
Yeap, just wanna add on my thoughts here too. Seeing how successful Steam OS is, got me to ditch Windows too, now I purely game on Linux since I don't really play games with invasive anti-cheat. For people who are tired of Window's bullshit, really give Linux a go, you may end up liking it
There's nothing I've played on there that hasn't run at a minimum of 30 fps but most older titles will hit the 60 or 90 but I'll cap it at 45 for battery life and always been solid, I've played hogwarts legacy at 45 fps, last of us part 1 at 30, arkham games at 60 plus I'm surprised just how well it works and how flawless the whole steam interface is too
I'm the opposite. I have found that the deck has made me test out games from my backlog I've never played, but I find myself adding to it because I end up buying more games specifically to play handheld. I bought titles like slay the princess and I never would've if my only option was sitting at my desk. SD is awesome!
I got myself the GPD Win4 6800u 1TB/32GB and I love it. It has a keyboard so when I play MMOs I can still type to my friends/guild. I definitely use it more than I originally thought I would, I like to watch sports or movies while doing mind numbing grinding in some games so it works great. I can be "with the family" and still enjoy my games. Hope you love it!
I bought an ROG Ally Extreme for travelling for work. Its been fantastic. I can play FFXIV ( mostly) and ESO , Skyrim etc. It nice having a capable gaming system without hauling around a heavy Gaming laptop. It only needs 30w of power at most and i use a 10' USB C cable with a 60w portable charger. Its been a game changer for me. I had about 4 hours of downtime at a location before i was needed. I plugged my Ally into my 760wh Bluetti power packs 100w USB C outlet, tethered to my 5g hotspot and played FFXIV and ran dungeons and levelled my sorcerer sitting in the middle of basically nowhere in a Toyota Tacoma. It was great :)
I had wanted a smaller laptop, which could connect to an eGPU for a full gaming vr experience, and overall replace my laptop and desktop. I saw the gpd win max 2, got the 7840u, and it has brought me back to mobile gaming, whilst replacing all my other devices. It isn't the best hand held, but if you want one do everything device it is amazing, love it 😍
of all the PC handhelds you got the hottest & loudest lol. windows is getting there, but they badly need a dedicated handheld OS. steam deck OLED seems like the best way to go for now
I bought the Rog Ally in October and believe me I played plenty of games on it and it works well in the majority of them if you put the right settings. For a handheld to be able to play AAA games at low or medium they are very good options.
Nice. I think you'd like it. I've had the ROG Ally since launch and I probably play it as much as my rig with a 3080. Excited to see where the handheld market goes. When I'm ready to upgrade in a few years, there's probably going to be third gen Ally's and Go's that have APUs close to the performance of a 2060 or even better which will be wild.
I've got a 1tb Teamgroup, and I've gotta say, on the Lego, load times aren't really that bad! Maybe 4-15 seconds longer! I mostly run all my fight games and drive games on the SD, and the rest on the SSD. Even forget i've been running Tekken 8 on a MicroSD, lol!
The Z1 Extreme chip is just a customized 7840U and both chips really do highlight the difference between Theoretical and Real World Performance. In theory the Z1 Extreme should absolutely crush the Steam Deck, but in the Real World it trades blows and at low wattages (10W or lower) the Steam Deck absolutely crushes it. This comes from Gamers Nexus.
step 1 - update your BIOS, change the vram setting to 6gb. don't use "auto" or "8gb" unless you like micro-stuttering in triple-A titles step 2 - don't use the official legion gpu driver, instead sideload the latest AMD radeon driver step 3 - run most games at 1600x1000 or 1920x1200 - perfect balance between resolution and performance
running at 800p allows integer scaling tho (I.e., each game pixel is exactly 1/2 a screen pixel in height and in width), running at 1000p/1200p has performance overhead due to fractional scaling
I have been loving my Legion go so far. Strong enough to emulate CPU heavy stuff, and even handles 1080p decently. I've been doing a lot of Steam streaming to it for harder to run games from my main Rig too. Software updates are slow though, and I'd say the screen's minimum brightness is still quite high. Definitely interested in trying Bazzite on it to get thay sweet sweet sleep functionality.
The keyboard issue is related to microsoft since windows 10. I worked for a manufacturer and sometimes windows doesn't know you are using a tablet and you have to go into accessibility obtion and enable keyboard to bypass this!
Do this to get optimum experience: 1. Lock framerates to 40 2. Turn off CPU boost 3. Use 800P 4. Get Emudeck and activate game mode I get amazing gaming experience once I do all of this, not to worry about fps or battery life or windows annoying you
Had the ally. Sold it for the Go. The Go is nice and the screen is great. But you won’t be able to take full advantage of it gaming. And legion space and the quick settings are so much worse than armory crate on the Ally. The Ally is very easy to quickly change stuff. The legion takes a lot of tinkering and switching apps and stuff to set up. Plus when you plug it into an external monitor it first puts it sideways and you have to fix that too. Loved the Go, but sold today to go back to the Ally. Oh and the Go takes fiveever to charge
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy it. I'm a console collector, and I love handhelds. This week Ive been taking my GBA with me. I had a Moqi i7s, but the screen broke. I hope Xbox does a handheld.
Haha I just replaced the power switch on the original psp. It broke well over 20 years ago. Still have the receipt in the value box as well as nothing being opened in it.
Im interested in a win gpd mini so that i can do some light work on the move other than game on it, but the thing doesnt have nordic layout plus the keyboard misses some important keys were nordic layout have important keys for c# like . :(
I've been really considering getting one of these. I love lenovo and the detachable controls are something that really piqued my interest. It's just hard for me to justify buying one since I have the original steam deck. I was one of the nerds that did the pre-order when it first came out.
I love the asus rog ally. Pre order bought. No issues. Repasted with kpx, 3d printed a dust cover for the egpu port, 3d printed a stand, 2280 m.2 adapter, js aux rgb clear back cover which has bigger air intake vents, and amd FMF software on it. Fmf makes a HUGE improvement at 1080p.
Handhelds should limit their screens under 7" & 1080p resolution. Simply they don’t have capability to run games at native 1600p. Lowering the screen size & resolution will save money, battery & increase performance & portability ❤
And with no loss to clarity, can't even tell on such a small screen... it's just marketing "ohh look we have the highest resolution we are the best" even though literally all it does is tank performance
Counter argument : Handhelds should keep their high resolution and when users want to play game they can lower it manually. This way when you want to watch media on your handheld you have a nice high-resolution screen.
I have a legion go and the 1600p screen is awesome. I watch content on it every day using 1600p resolution and I play game exclusively at 800p with integer scaling. Looks very crisps because of integer scaling and overal better as it did on my steam deck.
I absolutely love my Lenovo Legion Go. Battery Life sucks, and I REALLY wish they had a 32gb RAM model. It's awesome though. I got a 65w 30,000mAh power bank and a anti-glare screen protector for it so its easier to see on a 5 hour trip I have to take every now and then. At the end of the day, I'm beyond happy with it.
I converted my LegionGo to a SteamDeck by wiping out windows and installing Bazzite, which is basically SteamOS. It's a much better handheld. Windows really hamstrings this handheld. I agree with the comments that giving this a 1600p/144Hz screen was pointless. Very few games even at their lowest settings will be able to use resolution. It would have been much smarter to with a 1440 x 900 or even 1680 x 1050. 800p still looks acceptable on this screen. The problem with these handhelds is that people expect too much out of them. If you hate 30 fps gaming like me, then handhelds aren't for you.
Was tempted to get one of these, but Valve dropped the OLED Steam Deck and I opted for that instead. The decision was due to the fact that the Legion Go was only available with 512GB of storage here, plus the 1TB Deck was significantly cheaper than the Legion Go. Besides, Windows just isn't suited to gaming on a handheld.
I have a legion go and it's amazing, I have a gaming desktop (Ryzen 7 5800X, 32GB RAM 3070 TI) and a gaming laptop ROG with a Ryzen 7 4800HS 40GB of RAM and a 1660 TI) and this just makes it so much easier to just have some fun on the go.
Steam deck is better, if you’re going to get a one hour battery life you might as well be plugged into a wall and just use a full PC which is better in every way
Yeah, for people like me, whose jobs imply a lot of traveling, hauling a big ass 10 kg Desktop is not an option, gaming laptops and these new handhelds are a godsend for people like me, airline pilots, truckers, sailors, oil rig workers, miners, etc.
Please tell me honestly which is the best regarding performance and runs games smoother Lenovo legion Go OR Steam deck Oled Please Give me Honest reply Thanks
Honestly it all depends on the game. The Deck apu is designed to run lower tdp (wattage) better then the Z1 extreme apu while Z1 is designed to gain performance over the deck apu at higher tdp. Recent games that are cpu bound will run better on the Ally/Go due to twice the number of cores. For the majority of games which are less demanding the Deck is better but the most demanding games on the go Ally/Go is better. If you are like me who have a gaming desktop then the OLED Deck is better playing demanding games remotely around the house with the OLED hdr screen. The major downside of playing off your PC is you can't use the sleep option since it disconnects from the desktop. The advantage I get better performance with long battery life so I can play completely wireless for hours. I have tested running a game remotely on the OLED Deck comparing the screen connected to the desktop vs my deck screen and find it very hard to detect any lag. The Deck has wifi 6 but I don't know if that makes a difference.
I've had my Legion Go for 2 months now. it's awesome for playing games like Ori, Broforce, Assassin's Creed China/India/Russia. It is also utterly amazing for using Steam Remote Play from your main rig. Lenovo keeps improving it with updates and gaming aside, it is also an unbelievably good Windows tablet. Both those USB C ports are USB4, and i believe they dont share resources, so you should be able to plug all sorts of cool stuff into it. My only gripes with it are battery life and Windows being Windows, but i knew that going in. Wish it came with Windows 11 pro, and it uses 2242 ssds instead of 2230, but you can easily buy an adapter or print one if your into 3d printing. There are also already loads of 3d printable accessories, including parts to like the controllers together
I'm waiting for the new AMD apus coming out that will be as strong as a 3060. then it'll be worth getting one. Currently I don't find performance to be good enough. but soon!!
Love my steam deck, im also a linux guy so it scratches that itch but it seeing that it can run 90% of my steam library that a windows based handheld has little interest for me with all of the quirks of windows on these types of devices
Ive been running the steam deck for about 2 weeks now ive been loving it. i got a 1TB SSD and 512gb SD card. Partitions about 80GB on SSD for dual booting windows. So got about 850GB for steam games and 512GB for windows games. I game mostly on SteamOS but for native gamepass games and epicgames i go to windows. Its a bit of work to get it going but when u got it u got it.
The fps mode paired with a low weigth Bluetooth keyboard allows to use the Legion Go as a full fledge laptop and work on it like you would on any other computer once you get used to the ergonomics of the controller in mouse mode. I has been using it in place of my laptop and it has helped with my back pain given the humongous 6.5 lb weight of my gaming laptop.
I recently won a Legion Go 512GB, even though I never wanted a portable gaming rig in the first place. I wish the battery didn't suck as much as it does. Even in power saving mode, the battery only lasts a few hours. But games like Hades run great in power saving mode at 1080p. My PC will always be my main rig, but as someone who never saw a reason for a portable system, I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit.
Literally the first video I'm watching on my Legion Go after setting it up (@ work lol) and signing into YT lol Loving it VS my Asus TUF A16 AMD Advantage laptop. I'm 41 and it's my 1st handheld also. Glad I don't need to hunt for wall plug-ins anymore at work or while cruising. Just grabbed a 75W car charger. It's a *chungus!* Cool they don't charge for a case like Asus. Has a charging porthole in the case too! Main thing is having detachable controllers and a built-in kickstand. RGB can be turned off unlike the Ally. I'll still get that one too tbh for comparison.
I was thinking of getting one of these for my Daughter, but I can't do the Steam Desk because she's a Valorant player and that's not on Steam I am wondering how this would work out for her.
My issue with higher resolution screens on any kind of handheld is, even if you run it at a lower resolution, you're still using a lot of battery power driving those pixels. Like I preferred the 1080p screen on an LG v60 over the 1440p screen on a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 because of the battery life mostly.
From my understanding the back light burns the most wattage compared to the LCD itself. 1600p down to 800p is a perfect match since 4 pixels can act as one compared going from 1080p to 720p. You can run videos at 1600p and games at 800p.
I love my steam deck oled. I would say 2/3 of my gaming now is on the deck because as much as I love gaming on PC, I love being able to sit in bed while my wife reads and play for 30 min before bed, and between work and having a family I was only able to play on weekends the last few years. Yea it’s a bit limiting on what you can play but to play some MCC or doom or other Coop/single player games. I did get it to run helldivers2, barely, but I’m not great on controller so it’s rough haha
I have an ally and lego. Games run the same on both. Back buttons on lego are better for me, but the ally is more comfortable to hold for long periods. I have large hands and the right corner on the lego hurts my palm so much I have to position my hand in a weird way causing it to cramp up.
I got the OG Steam Deck and I was thinking of getting the Ally or Legion Go, but I fell in love with the touchpads and gyro, customisation and no Windows. The extra performance was not enough when now I can do headshots better than if I had a mouse and keyboard.
"It's expensive, you can build a decent tower with this money!" Yes, but I bet you if you made a power plant that fits in a pocket it would STILL be more expensive, despite the output being worse. You pay for cramming tech in such a tiny space.
I just purchased the legion go also , was on sale for $1100 AUD . I had the rog ally but the vibration function failed it just stayed on til I rebooted . Also the sd card reader failed within 2 weeks . This is definitely larger I take it with me for work lunches
just a fun fact - the surfing minigame is a part of the current Win 11 installer...sometimes when I have a Windows laptop I need to deploy at work, I spend some time just fucking around with the surfer while the updates download and install
I bought a Rog Ally and had to hook a keyboard up to get it setup because the touchscreen one wouldn't pop up. I returned it because it just wasn't for me.
Looking forward to the review. I'm trying to decide between the Legion Go / Ally / Deck right now myself. Probably won't pull the trigger for another month or so.
if you have your games on more than just steam I would suggest playnite and set it up to enter fullscreen mode on boot as the Legion software isn't there yet and is mostly focused on selling games. I have also had issues with steam recognising the legion controllers being recognised when launching games
7:39 - This game looks like a reskinned port of an old Windows 3.1 game you could get as a bundle of games. I can't remember the name, but it was a skiing game and a yeti would come after you the same way that octopus was coming after you. And now I feel old and so should you if you remember that game.
I would love to see a comparison between this and the OLED Steam Deck. I have the og steam deck and I play a lot of smaller games on it and it helped me play more of my library.
Have the Legion Go many months now and recently finished Dead Island Riptide and Elden Ring, Mafia 3 on it with max resolution and settings, its fricking amazing and to play higher demand games on 4K I have Desktop PC for it.
there was a CAT phone, s63 i think it was. i wouldve bought it if it wasnt slow out of the box. didnt even need better software (at the time) just better hardware

I never see the SSD as it's "hidden" on the big backside. ;)
I use power on top USB, but i also have a USB-C Dock with keyboard, mouse etc. and a HDMI cable so i can connect Legion Go to TV or Monitor.
An external USB-C SSD won't cause any problem at all, and will cause 0% extra heat on Go as it's on the kickstand. ;)
That world of warships ad was so smooth, nice job to the editors. That arm fold into the reimagining of Jay was amazing
I'm surprised he didn't jump on Steam Deck OLED
Cus jay is a diehard windows person I don’t think he would even try Linux
Sounds like he got this specifically because it's massive lol
Too weak for his tastes.
I think he prefers to have best specs vs the most mainstream handheld.
It’s the weakest and he prefers windows
Yes, I built a brand new PC with Chimera OS because my experience with Steam OS on the deck was so good.
Yeap, just wanna add on my thoughts here too. Seeing how successful Steam OS is, got me to ditch Windows too, now I purely game on Linux since I don't really play games with invasive anti-cheat. For people who are tired of Window's bullshit, really give Linux a go, you may end up liking it
I use Arch BTW 🌝
Love my steam deck oled been a saviour for clearing my back log!
does it runs games well enough ?
There's nothing I've played on there that hasn't run at a minimum of 30 fps but most older titles will hit the 60 or 90 but I'll cap it at 45 for battery life and always been solid, I've played hogwarts legacy at 45 fps, last of us part 1 at 30, arkham games at 60 plus I'm surprised just how well it works and how flawless the whole steam interface is too
@@liamd251293 so jealous lol had to upgrade my pc recently but oled deck is next on my list
I'm the opposite. I have found that the deck has made me test out games from my backlog I've never played, but I find myself adding to it because I end up buying more games specifically to play handheld. I bought titles like slay the princess and I never would've if my only option was sitting at my desk. SD is awesome!
I'm still trying to talk myself into upgrading from the regular steam deck
I got myself the GPD Win4 6800u 1TB/32GB and I love it. It has a keyboard so when I play MMOs I can still type to my friends/guild. I definitely use it more than I originally thought I would, I like to watch sports or movies while doing mind numbing grinding in some games so it works great. I can be "with the family" and still enjoy my games. Hope you love it!
Yup exactly why I used it as well
I bought an ROG Ally Extreme for travelling for work.
You forgot to mention what brand of clothes you are wearing. 😅
@@BU683AR Walmart :P
My buddy got one of these as a way to play PC games with me. He absolutely loves the thing.
FINALLY a large tech RUclipsr talks about the LeGo. Hopefully it brings more attention to the handheld, it deserves it.
Gamers Nexus talked about it and did a review on it
I had wanted a smaller laptop, which could connect to an eGPU for a full gaming vr experience, and overall replace my laptop and desktop. I saw the gpd win max 2, got the 7840u, and it has brought me back to mobile gaming, whilst replacing all my other devices. It isn't the best hand held, but if you want one do everything device it is amazing, love it 😍
of all the PC handhelds you got the hottest & loudest lol. windows is getting there, but they badly need a dedicated handheld OS. steam deck OLED seems like the best way to go for now
Bazzite is also an option for an operating system
Steam deck sucks you ar limited on it 😂
I bought the Rog Ally in October and believe me I played plenty of games on it and it works well in the majority of them if you put the right settings. For a handheld to be able to play AAA games at low or medium they are very good options.
watching this while on the stationary bike and playing a metroidvania on the lcd steam deck. good times
Legion Go subreddit has a popular 3D Printing schematic for the controller adapter. Looks like a big letter V
don’t do Legion go like that this device can run games at 50 fps in high settings you just have to tweak and update
I love the Legion GO. If you are at home, I suggest streaming games from your main rig through Steam.
Battery lasts forever and graphics look great.
I'm looking to pickup a Steamdeck OLED 1TB soon. Would be good to see you review that also.
Legion is better than the Oled ..
Seems odd I can’t get one of these in the Uk with a 1tb of storage. Just can’t get hold of them.
Streaming on the Go from my 4090 rig, laying comfy in bed, was a wow experience for me as a lifelong gamer. The moonlight streaming app is so awesome.
7840 gpu has the performance close to a desktop 1060 and not 2060.
I think you misread my post. I'm referring to the ROG Ally 3 or Legion Go 3 a few years down the line. I know the Z1 Extreme is closer to a 1060.
Yeah the first gen is not bad to buy
Have one. Love it. So immersive! I swapped my 1tb for a 2tb and added a 960GB microsd that houses a ton of emulators!
This comes from Gamers Nexus.
step 1 - update your BIOS, change the vram setting to 6gb. don't use "auto" or "8gb" unless you like micro-stuttering in triple-A titles
step 2 - don't use the official legion gpu driver, instead sideload the latest AMD radeon driver
step 3 - run most games at 1600x1000 or 1920x1200 - perfect balance between resolution and performance
Unless you play forza the AMD drivers give worse performance than the LeGo drivers
And drivers only give u an increase in pref in a handful of titles, Lego’s drivers are better
running at 800p allows integer scaling tho (I.e., each game pixel is exactly 1/2 a screen pixel in height and in width), running at 1000p/1200p has performance overhead due to fractional scaling
Off to Microcenter, need a USB-C Dock or splitter to attach accessories
Do this to get optimum experience:
1. Lock framerates to 40
2. Turn off CPU boost
3. Use 800P
4. Get Emudeck and activate game mode
I get amazing gaming experience once I do all of this, not to worry about fps or battery life or windows annoying you
Had the ally.
Sweet you went with a legion go! It’s an awesome handheld I think you’ll enjoy it!
Havent watched the full video yet but hopefully its updated before you reviewed it. Big changes were made since launch to make it better
the biggest minus of this is just the battery nothing else.
There is indeed a 3d printable unit to attach them like the switch. I haven't made one for my wife's legion go just yet but plan to very soon.
Steam Deck OLED is best girl
Yes! Please also have a follow up video with it plugged to an eGPU! Still getting used to playing COD with mine.
It’s so heavy! lol
Not sure why people are confused by the resolution. 1600p is great for media use and is intended to play games at 800p + rsr/fsr
I play forza on 1600p. Beautiful. It really varies what you need the resolution for
@@InceptionAnims that’s sick! So far I only have been playing AC mirage. I’ve been keeping res at 1600 but fsr set to performance (800p)
@@InceptionAnimshow many fps?
I love my Legion Go. You can also upgrade the RAM, but it takes a lot of work to do. Ive also connected the Meta Quest 3 with the PC Link and it works
No brah ...
Resolution agree, screen size disagree.
If you dislike windows 11 you can also install Bazzite and swap to SteamOS which functions identical to the steamdeck except you have a bigger screen
So finally a real person doing a not scripted review etc. I love this channel ever since i found it on my personal acct.
"Real person" aka someone who confirms my bias
What’s wrong with people scripting their reviews? Not everyone is great at speaking off the cuff and scripts make it easier for them to
I absolutely love my Lenovo Legion Go.
No you didn't waste your money. The Lenovo Legion Go is awesome. But so are the other PC handhelds. It's all about preference.
Except it’s. Better, higher res, larger+better performance
I'm reasonably happy with mine, but the software was totally not installed when I got it. Had to reinstall windows to get things working correctly
If you hate 30 fps gaming like me, then handhelds aren't for you.
im waiting on when it can be 1080p120hz and actually run games at that, even if i have to drop setting to medium.
Also does anyone remember the razer edge pro? It had a Dedicated graphic card. Was that tablet 1500?
Steam deck is better, if you’re going to get a one hour battery life you might as well be plugged into a wall and just use a full PC which is better in every way
Steam deck is junk 😂
You only get an hour at max TDP, which most games don’t need. You can get 2 hours or more with lower TDP settings
Yeah, for people like me, whose jobs imply a lot of traveling, hauling a big ass 10 kg Desktop is not an option, gaming laptops and these new handhelds are a godsend for people like me, airline pilots, truckers, sailors, oil rig workers, miners, etc.
Please tell me honestly which is the best regarding performance and runs games smoother
Lenovo legion Go OR Steam deck Oled
Please Give me Honest reply
Thanks
Go will run better than steam deck
Currently I don't find performance to be good enough.
but soon!!
No you will not
Love my steam deck, im also a linux guy so it scratches that itch but it seeing that it can run 90% of my steam library that a windows based handheld has little interest for me with all of the quirks of windows on these types of devices
What i like about this is the screen - 8.8 inches, huge!
FYI, the button usb c allow you to charge the legiongo inside the case, since there is an opening in the case
I was between the legion go or the ally. Ultimately went with the ally just for VRR and I love it.
Literally the first video I'm watching on my Legion Go after setting it up (@ work lol) and signing into YT lol
Loving it VS my Asus TUF A16 AMD Advantage laptop.
I love my steam deck but those detachable controllers look so good. Definitely something valve should consider on their next device
I was thinking of getting one of these for my Daughter, but I can't do the Steam Desk because she's a Valorant player and that's not on Steam I am wondering how this would work out for her.
im watching this on one at work. 4 months now and loving it.
With the Steam Deck including a case in the purchase price, Valve set a standard for those to be included.
Can you run it in 720p during the review and include that as well. On such a small screen 8in i believe 720p should look just okay.
Is that mini computer like ? Does it has Windows installed?
It's basically a mini-laptop.
It's also on edge, far superior to chrome's dino game for your internet being down.
I bought a Rog Ally and had to hook a keyboard up to get it setup because the touchscreen one wouldn't pop up. I returned it because it just wasn't for me.
The Legion Go is a fine piece of tech. I've been really impressed by it. I travel a lot and it is perfect for hotels and lone flights.
Looking forward to the review. I'm trying to decide between the Legion Go / Ally / Deck right now myself. Probably won't pull the trigger for another month or so.
I’ve had and tried all of them. Deck has the best battery life. Ally is the smallest and most portable. Go is the largest and heaviest
@@crestofhonor2349which is better in terms of gaming? Can we play all games like AC, red dead redemption, FIFA etc..,.on steam deck?
if you have your games on more than just steam I would suggest playnite and set it up to enter fullscreen mode on boot as the Legion software isn't there yet and is mostly focused on selling games. I have also had issues with steam recognising the legion controllers being recognised when launching games
Handheld is the comfiest way to play dungeon crawlers. Legend of Grimrock, Wizardry 8, The Quest, Might and Magic X.
7:39 - This game looks like a reskinned port of an old Windows 3.1 game you could get as a bundle of games. I can't remember the name, but it was a skiing game and a yeti would come after you the same way that octopus was coming after you. And now I feel old and so should you if you remember that game.
I played that game so many times as a kid!
XKCD 667.
It's also the edge equivalent of the chrome dino game when you have no internet.

Yea edge ended up using the ski game as their Chromes Dino game.
Go Phil !!! Looking forward to your Review !
Wonder how it compares to the new MSI claw
if you want a controler "dock" for when the controlers are separate I'm sure you could make one to 3d print
I would love to see a comparison between this and the OLED Steam Deck. I have the og steam deck and I play a lot of smaller games on it and it helped me play more of my library.
Always had old part and outdated pc and part this was my first gaming pc thanks again jay
Have the Legion Go many months now and recently finished Dead Island Riptide and Elden Ring, Mafia 3 on it with max resolution and settings, its fricking amazing and to play higher demand games on 4K I have Desktop PC for it.
I love my Steam Deck! The Legion Go is cool too Jay!
I do industrial maintenance. I would like the Fluke phone with flir thermal. Asus rog phone mix match = perfect work / gaming / life phone
there was a CAT phone, s63 i think it was. i wouldve bought it if it wasnt slow out of the box. didnt even need better software (at the time) just better hardware
That 4:52 moment is comedic genius, both Jay and the video edit. 👌👌
