I am LIVING for the exaggeration of these characters. How they move as they speak, how they are never COMPLETELY still its so wonderful and these people are so skilled its incredible.
Not just that but they have a lot of personality with them. And that one little girl is going through some SHIT.

It's animated by students, but lit and rendered by a professional.
Partially, but you can tell by the way that a lot of these characters look generic, that they're probably using templates. Still props to them for animating them, but this is far from professional animation.
@@trickytreyperfected1482 It's not even "probably" All these chars are available through AnimSchool, I was going to join but decided to do a gumroad with a Pixar animator instead for the person to person aspect. Legit all this is doing is showcasing their knowledge of moving a rig and capturing emotion.
Not downplaying it, but the amount of stupid/uniformed that thinks they modeled, weight painted, lit, rendered, etc everything is insane in these comments....

Honestly i love the dr horrible animation as much as the rest of yall but my DEFINITE favorite is 3:31
Its so lifelike and subtle and beautiful. She isn't moving in absurd ways shes moving _like a human._ and thats so startling and hard to get right. Absolute 11/10
3:32 was art, I don't know how but the feeling of nostalgia hit me right in the heart.

The styles, the movements, the expressions, the emotions, all of it amazing. Honest to God it is amazing. Humor, serious emotions, slice of life moments, all of it pulls off what it tries to do.
Either these are your top students or this is the Ivy League of animation schools.
These are so animated and full of personality. Not like the usual stock look that a lot of 3D animations have, but these feel alive and loose and like...like real people! The expressions are amazing!
The Incredibles: Ok, you can copy Mr Incredible's design. But don't make it so obvious

It's a character modeler that sculpts the character and It's a Technical Director/Rigger that gives it its bones, but it's the animator that brings it to life.

Saul Latorre is going places. That was some fantastic movement in his animation and I loved how expressive and exaggerated the faces were.

oml i love the squash and stretch affect on the second one, its just, perfect, the characters are perfectly described with literally less than half a minute of time. literally great, i love to see how these people upgrade every year, its remarkable and very inspiring for me :>
I love seeing these animations y’all do with Pixar level animating, every single clip in here feels like it’s alive with a surprising amount detail into their expressions and the movements, it’s all great stuff.
They get better and better every year. I just did a mini binge watch of the last few years... incredible talent.

Well made projects. My only concern is the lack of creativity in character designs. Nearly all of these characters look like Disney/pixar discount Brad Bird designs. The animations are top notch, but there's almost nothing there differentiating individual art styles.
It's not even on the students. We've been getting a sanitized market of characters since Frozen came out. Maybe a bit before.

These are premade characters. It’s an animation class not a 3d character design class. The assignment is to use these premade characters and animate them as best as possible.

the students likely dont sculpt and make their own 3d models. theyre there to learn about 3d animating, not character design, which is a different branch

All the animation I'm seeing here is so delightfully reminiscent of Genndy Tartakovsky. In other words, this is the most traditionally cartoony stuff I've seen from 3D CGI in quite some time
