Ford restricting the new raptor in the EU to 300bhp from 400bhp was just criminal. It feels almost as slow as the last gen over here. It would have wiped the floor if it was the AUS spec.
Imagine this race with the Amarok on standard suspension, road tyres and Darkside's 390/400hp upgrade vs the 350 tune, lifted suspension, box and AT tyres - yet it still gapped them all. lol
@@andrewfehrsen I drive the new raptor here in durban absolutely love it, my maat has the 2021 amarok v6 i could not keep up with i only beat him towards the top end thanks to mine being petrol. The old amarok has mental acceleration, fords gearbox cant compete. Still love my bakkie though worth every buck
Nicely done with the Amarok, imagine how much more whipping the X-class gets if you all were fitted with Michelin Pilot sport 4's, that Ranger Raptor has a different engine than what we get here in North America, heretics still a 3 litre V6,that has 400 hp and 430 ft lbs torque and Canadian pricing is around $78,000.00 dollars and up from there 👍
My fav of these 3 is the x class the raptor is a ranger with a raptor badge and the amarok has always been super fast.🫡I think with some tuning the x class would be the fastest can tho vehicle or tie with the amarok
@@nedyahyakcam it’s not the raptor the rest of the world gets. Here in South Africa we get the 400hp one so at 290hp it doesn’t deserve to be called a raptor. It’s a ranger with a raptor badge
@@spookyreaper1702 It's exactly the same engine, it's just detuned for Europe. And even in your SA model, it's still a Ranger Raptor. The base vehicle everywhere is a Ranger and it's then tunes, much like a BMW 3 series and an M3 - they are the same car with changes. So the Raptor name isn't just the engine, it's all the other changes to it that make it the complete package. So it is a Ranger Raptor that's been detuned. It's easy to rectify by having it remapped so the same or better as everywhere else gets. Also, lets not forget, lots of companies change tunes depending on the location they are going to - BMW E36 M3 was massively under-tuned for America compared to the rest of the world as just one example.
@@AaronC684 yea I get you, with 400hp I’d consider the South African one a raptor because of the power.. but if I’m being honest the last real raptor was the 3.5 v6 one. Now these are all rangers. Maybe in the future it will be hybrid with 500hp but the weight of batteries will make it slower. The x class is just the nicest one to be in. That’s why I like it.

That 0-60 run you showed of the Raptor was an Aussie spec which has 100bhp more than the euro spec model you went up against.
Euro spec raptor has been crippled. I have one in South Africa and neither the Amarok or the X class would stand a chance
@@andrewfehrsen actually, here in Argentina we have both Amarok and Ranger V6 with all the HP, and in drag races it usually wons the Amarok.

The European spec Raptors are restricted to only 300hp, the rest of the world they are 400hp. Maybe DD must tune one of these.
