The most classic buzzer beater just because of all the little details. Red vs Blue, home team hit it, Dick Vitale is calling it, Tom Creans face, and who Kentucky was that year with AD. Chills every time
"Watford for the win," out of all the sports calls I've ever heard, is the one that sticks in my mind the most. Big moment, great play, perfect timing on the call, simple phrase, and a nice bit of alliteration to cap it all off.
@@sosam2000 This win symbolized all the struggles and troubles IU went through, and how they ultimately burst back on the scene. Years of struggle finally led up to this epic game where we finally broke through, against arguably our biggest rival who was #1! It was storybook bro
I'm a huge IU fan. you can see me on youtube - I was in the front row in the band for the 81 championship.............no. One of the better moments in IU baskeball history.
As a Kentucky fan, I'd love to see UK play IU in the regular season again. Both fanbases are passionate as hell and both programs have a storied tradition.
+Brennan Mudd +Brennan Mudd Im quite sure that IU didn't win the last time these two teams played, and then UK won a national title a week later........😳 awkward (Coming from a UK fan)
Paul N Hahaha look at yourself replying to everyone else's comments glorifying UK and bringing down IU...regardless of what program you're a fan of no need to bash on another's success. Looks like someone still gets a little salty seeing Watford take down the "almighty Kentucky." :)
ROTFLMAO. Why when I saw Watford walk off the court as a loser in the sweet 16. When I saw my team lift its 8th National Championship Trophy. When My team when to the final 4 3 out of the last 4 years while IU has done nothing but cut down nets after a los and replay over and over and over again a win in DECEMBER that they wrote books about. No UK fans make fun of IU fans because you celebrate this like a national championship. Maybe you should have raised a banner for missing out on every tournament all together this year. Maybe one day IU will be a great program again but as of now they aren't even close to elite.
Paul N I would rather miss out on the NIT to preserve respect for the program, than to go and get beat in the first round by Robert Morris. (Not referring to anyschool in particular.)
I'm from New York and a way bigger NBA fan than college ball, but this right here is the greatest sports moment I've ever witnessed. Seeing Crean's reaction at 0:10 and hearing Vitale screaming "unblievable!" almost makes me tear up for some reason.
I'm glad a shot in December gives you chills. At Kentucky, 3 final 4's in 4 years and a National Championship gives us chills. Tell me how that rematch went in the sweet 16? ohh you lost by double digits lol. loser
LOL I was at the Sweet 16 game. Our coach is immoral ROFLMAO. As a Kentucky fan we won't get all worked up because of a game in December. Whats HILARIOUS is that you sit there and act like we care. Well, no we just think its funny how pathetic IU has become because you all still get all excited over a shot in DECEMBER! Maybe one day you will know what real success looks like but not likely soon.
don't act like if the roles were reversed that you wouldn't look back at this game too....if you say no then you are lying. and if you think UK was in control of the whole game then your wrong. they won by 10 points which is only the case because of free throws at the end. it was a close game throughout the whole game
one of the things I love most about games like these, is that one second that the ball is in the air where it's dead silent right before the whole arena just EXPLODES
I Love Coach Crean's Face Priceless Thinking at 0:12 "What The Hell Just Happened"? Best Part Of The Video and The Score Being Wrong 75-70 Until They Fixed It!

I’ll never forget having to work during this game, but it was on all the TVs at work. And I dropped a tray full of drinks to put my hands in the air and celebrate. The place went nuts. Definitely my favorite sports moment ever
I remember I was violently sick with a stomach bug that day. Decided to watch the entire game sick in bed. And even I went crazy after that shot. And I'm not a fan of either team.
One of the greatest games, I've ever witnessed as an IU student in the stands. I owe Head Coach Tom Crean about two dozen Krispy Kreme Doughnuts that I bet. (IU Alum 2011)

People can argue but this is by far the greatest sports moment in history, not only was it a MASSIVE upset with a STACKED Kentucky team (Anthony’s Davis) but it also boosted Indiana’s program in a incredible direction for years, after a great next couple seasons, even being #1 team in the nation with stars like Cody zellar and victor oladipo, but sadly they hit a slump again and fired this coach, getting Archie Miller next season, Archie had a couple good Seasons, picked up some good players along the way, but also slumped out quickly and was fired, this season IU has a new coach Michael Woodson and they have a very promising team this year, maybe they can make history again.

Gosh time does fly. This happened 10 years ago. Watching this on TV, I thought the gloomy past was finally behind us IU fans, but fast forward 10 years, IU basketball is still not there yet. We BARELY got into the big dance as a first four team.
Crean was the most surprised person in the building when that went in. His face looked like someone just asked him a question in a language he didn’t know.
I watched this as a born and raised Hoosier and Indianapolis resident when I was a senior in high school enrolled to attend IU the next year. Everything has been downhill from that moment on.

I'm not remotely a IU fan but I have to watch this video every time I stumble across it. Such a satisfying win for the candy stripes. Oh, and Go Cards! 😁😁😁😁😁
Cromartie Mcfly sadly this game will be erased from the record books, despite IU doing nothing wrong, eventually. The NCAA knows full well the housing and $$$ Calipari paid out to recruit his first two U.K. Classes. I'm sure he's paid out more for subsequent classes but I wasn't around bc my fiancé graduated. Until they won the title the U.K. alumni despised Calipari bc of the cheating n how sloppy it was bc the whole campus knew about it. Once they won one tho it all switched over to instant gratification n forgetting/forgiving. Fiancé lived across from Bledsoe's family living in a very expensive condo n driving luxury vehicles despite being dirt poor. Neither they nor Calipari tried to hide it which makes it all the more suspicious the NCAA hasn't done anything about it. Even if they don't act the next regime will.

That is what college basketball is all about right there! Crazy finishes and that a huge win. I live about 45 minutes from Bloomington. I bet Kirkwood was nuts that night.
