I've been doing medical transcription on my pc and I really counted on the word options proofing so that I could make as many medical terminology phrases with a couple of letters that would make it go so much quicker but you were right; I've been looking for hours now and there just is no option on the drop down for this function - I'm just thrilled that I found out how to single space my consultation letters and that's better than nothing. Hi Kevin, thank you for your tutorial on adding Word/Office for FREE. I didn't think it was available without paying. You saved me from having a hissyfit. Much appreciated.
Can't believe that these apps still aren't ported to desktop with the possibility to write documents, spreadsheets, etc. offline. I know that for a while there were some Modern UI apps that were available, but even then it was limited to screen sizes smaller than 10 inch. I think, these lack enough functions to be published for free, bundled with Windows just like how Apple does with macOS, because it's a good start for people. And for advanced functions they still would be able to upgrade to Office 2019 or 365. I wrote many feedbacks about this for a while, but without any success, I just gave up. However, I still feel that these could be elementary apps these days, especially with other full office suites offered for free. You'll never know when the internet goes down, so browsers aren't reliable enough even for simple tasks like writing a few lines.
For offline, you'll need to buy or subscribe to the desktop apps currently. As a free alternative, you can use WordPad offline and then just copy into Word on the web when you're back online. It's not ideal, but can serve as a stopgap. Keep submitting feedback! The team reads it.

This is great 6/14/2020 have old mac just converted to new Mac and my old key for office doesnt cross over to this computer. This video made it easy to log in and access the office app. Now I can do my work without paying annual fee. Thank you again

I think Microsoft can easily make more money by making all these apps more affordable, like 20% of what they ask now. Then people would actually buy a license and use them. Most people use alternatives or pirated apps. If only Microsoft decreases the price tag, nearly all of them would pay.
