So, the "beginner's guide" starts with "here's how you manage a base that you've built to gigantic proportions." Okay, I'll look elsewhere for an actual beginner guide.

If you're going to make a beginners guide, having two people talk over each other really isn't the way to go. Pretty much destroys any train of thought you had going too.

can someone explain why the platforms on mother base are so freaking far apart
Easy way to get across to each platform quickly : wa'll at mother base if you go to your map, on each platform there is a "delivery point" somewhere. get a box and crouch and sit and wait a little while on the tiny delivery point, platform and hold the button that pops up on the screen while in the box. Than once held a screen will come up asking where you want to "deliver" yourself too. Pick the delivery point on the platform that you desire and it will quickly take you there. Try it IT REALLY HELPS.

Just think about the battleship row in Pearl Harbor. The platforms being far apart makes it harder to target compared to them being connected and being a 1 big target.

I have no idea what's going on at mother base. This game is too overwhelming, I just like killing people and riding the horse. This video didn't explain anything to me

My base is red to, but that is for tactik, all the other collers is there uniforms for so invaders can hide better, red is harder to see on in range, but there is weary few red camos

At 4:28, does anybody know what the thin dark bars next to the thick light bars are supposed to mean? I know each light bar represents the current level of its respective unit/team, but what are the dark bars for? I've searched everywhere on the internet, but nobody seems to have even asked that question.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the placement of the different platforms of the mother base, so they are closer for example?
The base placement is automatic, but it provides you with vehicles, you can get in the box get on the range play form and go to any platform or even use your heli.

at minute 1:38, top right of the screen on the idroid, it says "415 (personnel total, I assume) and 15" next to an hexagon; whats the 15 hexagon stand for?
what does it take to reach a one lvl up on something like four A ranks or two S ranks? whatever the equivalent is which I have no idea. also does it matter whatever the other ranks are regarding there highest rank?

can you speed up production of equipment and what not with the phantom cigar or is it all in real time?
and at minute 1:41, whats the first symbol that some of them have stand for?(white circle with a symbol inside of swords, or shield...) but some of them have simply a dash "-")

I just got the game, and this entire menu system is really confusing. I'm having fun with the game, but the layout and navigation aren't that great.
That means you aint got the experience and knowledge of how to manage the base.

I'm kind of unsure about the staff morale part. I notice it goes up when you approach every soldier. But does that mean when you come back to mother base you have to find and run up to every single soldier scattered across all those platforms? lol. It would take forever to do that. I already have like 60 dudes per section. It takes like 8 minutes running or 2 minutes to drive the jeep from one section to another. There has to be an easier way. Am I missing something?
+tlv156 Smoke a cigar at each base and it will save you the time of approaching every soldier
If you use the sonar ability you can raise moral for soldiers near you

y'know what would have been great? it would have been great if you could build and adjust your mother base with a cellphone or ps vita app, kind of like how you can adjust things in gta5/online via the iFruit App.

How do you get resources faster? Been jacking the shit out of materials containers but the processing time is too long
Serious question: So they stated that every mother base would be unique and different a lot of time ago, but that just means the color and emblem? because whenever i try to create a new platform its selected for me (the location i mean) i thought you would be able to move it around and place it how you want it.
me too... but i think you can do little changes on each part of the base. but im not sure about that. my base is not thaaat big
+rangers_3 You're probably thinking of FOB (Forward Operating Base). That is the online component to Mother Base which you'll be able to customise a lot more and put in various types of security measures, etc.

If you get into a box, you can post yourself to other platforms. This is quick travel between platforms

Sell machineguns and mortars. You can get more in fields and replaying missions you did.

Probably but your troops will not come back after it failed but you can use new troops.

I get the general gist of it, but I wouldn’t consider this a beginners guide. Like how do you know if a soldier is worth picking up? I have a bunch of D and E grade soldiers but I don’t know if I level them up or if I was supposed to catch an A+ soldier. I have more questions than what I started with.

I bought the digital version of this game and after every mission there's a game data install for X amount of seconds. Is that the same for the hard copy as well?
Nah, I haven't noticed anything like that
Guess I should've got the hard copy.
That's because the hard copy installs everything from disk, where as the digital versions let you play what it's installed, whilst it installs the rest. It happens with practically every digital version of games

Here's my question everyone I find there are Ds how do you get to B's and C's and A's are they just elites or special soldiers that you can only get with Intel from other soldiers
As you progress you can get ++AA soldiers from fields. Use your ops to scout specialist and elites. Be careful of soldiers and they have hand up,they can fight back.

On board the heli,you have option to change the base color,emblem,emblem color on the motherbase option.
I know, but whe I select the Base option, no colors show up. Just all blank squares.

peacewalker is the prequel to the prequel we dont talk about and shares a lot of mechanics with phantom pain so i would say try play peacewalker

Build or expand motherbase and once you get message that you can send your troops on missions they can lvl up after successful missions. You only unlock combat base to get it.
How the hell do you get onto the mothr base
In the IDroid gol to the far right and there is a option to return to mother base.
