With D-Horse’s “defecate” command, if any enemy car rides over it, it will spin out and render the enemy unconscious for a bit, very effective in “angel with broken wings”

When extracting prisoners/ solders, throw a smoke grenade at their feet before you fulton them. That will prevent the enemies from shooting the ballon. 5. You can snipe pilots from the helicopter with a supressed sniper rifle and bring it down silently, without getting an alert.

+inademv Because IGNorant actually didn't tell anyone anything new. If you watched the gameplay trailers prior to MGS V release, everything was already mentioned. And even as you play the game, the game itself makes it quite obvious and tells you how these things happen. Just a clickbait title.
+Xepthrichros Not everybody watches gameplay trailers, especially if they were trying to keep as much of the game a surprise as possible. We also shouldn't be expected to watch gameplay trailers to find out gameplay elements such as the ones shown, it should be shown or at least hinted towards in the game itself. If I had to watch a video to know things existed, that's bad design. Not everything is obvious either: - The cardboard box stuff isn't shown or mentioned in game at all. I knew you could use a box from past MGS games, but I assumed all I could do is crouch in it and wasn't told or prompted to do anything else. - I know you can make D-horse poop, I still have no idea why when there probably is a reason you can. - I sort of had a feeling you could fulton out on a cargo crate after I noticed you can put one on top of it last night (though I didn't test my theory), but you're never told you can do something like that. I essentially got a hint by accident, something that won't necessarily happen since there's little reason to ever stand on top of a crate. That is with 90+ hours of gameplay. To be 90+ hours in and have received not even a small hint that that stuff can be done (or an explanation to what pooping actually does) is pretty shitty.
+Tao maybe that should teach you to explore more?? if theres something in the game that seems useless, most of the time there might be nifty little tricks otherwise they wouldnt be in the game lol

It's God among games. Well it would be God of all media but my last album got that one covered. I love myself and so should you...because I deserve it [...]"
hey another counter to the helmets is if you shoot them in the face or a certain spot on their neck takes them down without the hassle of shooting the helmets off or sending your combat unit to destroy the helmets
Jake Morris Cover Fire she goes all out, you need to have her cease fire and talk to her to stop. She works the best for me because she can scout whole area and know all enemy position instead of us doing recon.
kenji harima I know, but I get spotted for a brief second and try to grab them she'll shoot while I'm holding them, which sucks. And she misses people out of view sadly, I prefer DD for recon at least.
Jake Morris Well it's said it's how you "manage them" how will they react on the field. DD is best for distraction for guards and picking up enemies. D-Walker fully upgraded can do almost everything all support buddies can do.
+kenji harima I find D-Dog the most helpful, He Tags everyone in 100m radius so i can never be surprised, he sniffs prisoners thru walls, makes jobs so much easier. Quiet is okey too but she doesnt tag 100%
You can fast travel with the cardboard box too, you have to steal the delivery stickers at certain outposts on the map but once you have em all you just go to one of the delivery pickups and you can move to any outpost on the map instantly. Great for when you're doing side ops, lol
I like how we can knock out the enemy by slamming him into ground, and we can do a combo of them to take out multiple targets, but they'll wake up quickly. So just kick one so he'll regain consciousness, grab a guy and choke him out, repeat.
when you put quiet in scout mode, she'll also collect items that are scattered around the enemy base and leave them for you outside the base for you to collect them.
You don't even have to take out all the communication satellites at an outpost, just find the stack of radio equipment with the blue lights and destroy it to cripple all communications for that outpost!
You can also give Quiet orders via the map [same way you'd call a chopper in]. Also if you call a chopper in and the LZ is wrong [at Mother Base for example - because the all look like they're on the same level], you can select a new one via the map. You can also dismiss the helo if you wish [maybe you needed support, but you want to keep exploring etc]
One thing you forgot to mention about the cardboard box is that you can deliver yourself to different enemy outpost in it if you find the cargo loading zones and take a ticket
#10: Multi-dive -- to move long distances fast, while remaining relatively silent, use the dive, & upon landing immediately tap your stance button to get in a crouch, then dive again, ad infinitum. if done correctly/quick enuf, you will never technically be in a crouch, or high enuf to be spotted. just dive agn *the instant* you tap the 'stance key' ('X' on PS4.) this is the fastest way, by far, to move while remaining almost silent & completely out of sight (prone), & is extremely useful esp for getting away from danger areas & retreating out of sight. give it a try. dive-crouch-dive-crouch-dive etc. in w/e direction, including into enemies, which will take them down w/o them alerting anyone or even being alerted themselves (what's that slo-mo mode called? alert mode or something?).
Uh, no. They don't tell you all those tricks in the game. Some they can tell you if you stumble upon certain situations, but not always. And in the description it says things that could have been explained a lot better, which is true. They do a terrible job explaining things, like that the game isn't paused when you look at the map.
If an enemy wears helmets, only face shots will cut it with tranks, since the penetration on these is really low. If he is turned sideways, aim for the nose. Or, if he's turned backwards, use CQC, don't even risk tranking him.
I jack trucks by tranquillising the driver and then the passenger. More badass. But horse poop works too. FYI driving over the tranquillised enemies with the truck does not kill them, just nudged them around.
I'm not sure if this was coincidence or not, but as I raided more enemy bases and extracted soldiers from the battlefield, I noticed that higher ranks were showing up more often. I've got up to mission 10 unlocked in the story, but decided to go level up R&D and support for the cargo 2 fulton upgrade. I went from rarely seeing rank B's to seeing them and rank A's all the time with A+ units on occasion without completing anymore of the main storyline or even facing off against Quiet.
Upgrade everything. The higher grade fultons the more it can pick up and the more fultons you can hold. I have all my stuff completely upgraded and have 45 fultons.
TIP for extracting A LOT of enemy soldiers in one go You will need: Hand of Jehuty, wormhole extraction device, a truck, and a bunch of dudes. Tranq or stun the enemies and pile them up, ca 10-15m, behind the truck. Climb into the back of the truck and move the guys with Jehuty. When you extract the truck, all the people in the back of the truck is extracted too. I don't know if it works with normal fulton. If you don't have Jehuty, see if you can park the truck somewhere you can throw the people down into the trucks back, you can also extract walker gear this way. It only cost 10.000gmp for the truck.
One more tip. You can shoot the pilot of a helicopter with a sniper rifle. There is two soldier in one heli. You can either shoot the gunner to prevent it to shoot at you or shoot the pilot and the heli instantly goes down.
these are some of the few reasons I plan to get metal gear survive 1. it has coop which I have been wanting 2. the fox engine is awesome 3. I will finally be able to use lethal non silenced guns and not feel like I am doing something wrong. mgsv was great but heavily encouraged stealth so it always felt wrong to be loud and the score would impact you if you used lethal weaponry
I got bored with peace Walker because after 5 it felt like a watered down mgsv and I have not completely finished 4 yet but other than that yeah I have played them all
Look up metal gear in 5 minutes big boss edition. I would suggest watching it more than once, because you'll probably get lost pretty quickly on your first watch. The metal gear universe is confusing.
You don't have to blow up the sat dishes; just locate and destroy the actual radio equipment that the sat dishes are linking to (stack of rectangular boxes with glowing blue lights). All you need is about 3-5 bullets from your suppressed rifle, and no more coms for the enemy. Much quieter (and cheaper) than C4.
Here are some things I would have enjoyed more about MGSV. I thought the game was very well designed and offered so much potential and could have been so much more if the developers let Kojima-san just take his time to create an extraordinary installment for the franchise. Just a few in-game ideas and plot ideas I would have liked to see In-Game Ideas - presence of Afghan / African villagers and ability to interact with those villagers - in the game I noticed the presence of animals that can be extracted for an easy source of income and a pointless animal sanctuary platform (is Big Boss really a greenie?). I would have liked to see villagers, such as shepherds flocking their sheep, or kids flying kites or whatever, just to add to the game atmosphere. Would have been cool to perhaps use the villagers to help you in your mission, either by creating a diversion to allow you to sneak into outposts and villages unseen or seeking information out of them or using them to store caches of ammunition and weapons for you, stuff like that - I liked the fact that if you infiltrated an enemy base camp and were spotted, they called in reinforcements and obviously those reinforcements trickle in from surrounding guard outposts. But often, whenever I get trigger happy and get caught, then wipe out all resistance in a base I then have to deal with maybe four or five waves of enemies that sort of trickle in. Maybe 20 extra enemies at most. Then after theyre dealt with the battle is completely over. I would have preferred that your gamestyle determined the enemy response. Like maybe attacking with a sniper rifle, a Soviet sniper is dropped by chopper to hunt you down in response. Or targeting officers (say, the guys with red berets) causes panic amongst the other ranks as they have no leadership. Or a heavier attack with rockets and machine guns causes them to bring in trucks containing reinforcements who then proceed to tactically clear the village or outpost where you have been fighting. And I mean, kicking down doors, room-by-room sweep and clears, stuff like that. And the heaviest response - tanks supported by light armored vehicles, choppers and infantry. Slipping past 10 or 20 soldiers is just too easy. Imagine having to slip past large groups of 10 or 20, so maybe 2-300 soldiers in a single base. So much more difficult, rewarding and fun - Survival Feature - Would have liked to seen the reintroduction of the survival minigame from MGS3 where you had to go in to a menu to feed Snake or deal with injuries - using a knife, bandages etc for bullet wounds and so on. And hunting food in game like in MGS3 and also being able to destroy enemy food and ammo caches, causing them to be willing to eat anything laying around nearby. Even the ability to throw live caught snakes at their heads, causing them to die of poisioning instead. Would have been loads of fun. I managed to complete 99% of MGS3 soldiers by throwing deadly live snakes at their heads and watching them get bitten and die. So fun. - Would have been cool to see in-game battles between Afghan guerrillas and Soviet soldiers and being able to determine which side won by helping whatever side benefits you most - like MGS4 where you could stay hidden and determine whether the PMC or the militia group won a skirmish - sometimes it was better to let the PMCs win.
The supply disruption is a lie. This will only disrupt production for a set amount of ops then you have to do the combat deployment again. Lame I think the same for the communication equipment applies but for a longer set of ops. The anit-air radar is different and is permanent.

and all vehicles with enemies inside them.
yeah just figured that out myself by mistake
Not everything is obvious either:
- The cardboard box stuff isn't shown or mentioned in game at all.
0:37 looks like Kanye West
Lol that's what I thought
haha he showed up like "Ima let you finish playing but witcher 3 was one of the greatest games of all time".
+Jason diaz I wonder if the idea gets to him one day to make a game...he's arrogant enough to pull up something like that'"check out this game I'm starring in...it's about me and it's the best game that has ever existed. It's God among games. Well it would be God of all media but my last album got that one covered. I love myself and so should you...because I deserve it [...]"
+Jason diaz Loved The Witcher 3. But it ain't got shit on this GOTY material. Now only to wait for Fallout 4.
hey another counter to the helmets is if you shoot them in the face or a certain spot on their neck takes them down without the hassle of shooting the helmets off or sending your combat unit to destroy the helmets
Can also shoot them in the butt hole works just as well
Quiet is the best overall around buddy. D-walker is also good IF you upgrade it to max.
+kenji harima I dunno, sometimes she shoots when I REALLY don't want her to.
Make sure to upgrade that cardboard box until it's waterproof.
The last Buddy here is mechanical. It can sometimes be deployed as a stationary turret.
The tip about deployment missions having a direct effect on supply (ie. enemy helmets) is really helpful. Thanks
Almost all of these secrets are very clearly explained in-game.
THRILLHO I didn't know the thing about destroying supply houses but yeah you're right
Jonathan Klein That's been a thing since Snake Eater.
Larry Bird That second one is obvious. Not a secret.
Larry Bird the title also says that the game doesn't tell you
UHHHHH...no.
You can fast travel with the cardboard box too, you have to steal the delivery stickers at certain outposts on the map but once you have em all you just go to one of the delivery pickups and you can move to any outpost on the map instantly. Great for when you're doing side ops, lol
pretty sure they told me most of this.
no not everything
That container thing is useful! Didnt know that thanks!
0:34 really? :))
+Sergio Speed What?
+Sergio Speed Welcome to Metal Gear
0:52 is even worse...
EXTARCTION ARRIVED AT MOTHER BASE (WITH SEXY PC VOICE)

EXTARCTION AROOVED AT MERTHER BAIS

Typical IGN coming out with tips and tricks AFTER others uploaded the same tatics on RUclips.
Really ?? Wow cool
You don't even have to take out all the communication satellites at an outpost, just find the stack of radio equipment with the blue lights and destroy it to cripple all communications for that outpost!
Nobody knew this game isn’t finished....
You can toggle D-pad up or down on map screen to request ammo, heli or even tell Quiet to Recon or Attack a area instead of going on buddy support
One thing you forgot to mention about the cardboard box is that you can deliver yourself to different enemy outpost in it if you find the cargo loading zones and take a ticket
#10: Multi-dive -- to move long distances fast, while remaining relatively silent, use the dive, & upon landing immediately tap your stance button to get in a crouch, then dive again, ad infinitum. if done correctly/quick enuf, you will never technically be in a crouch, or high enuf to be spotted. just dive agn *the instant* you tap the 'stance key' ('X' on PS4.)
this is the fastest way, by far, to move while remaining almost silent & completely out of sight (prone), & is extremely useful esp for getting away from danger areas & retreating out of sight. give it a try.
dive-crouch-dive-crouch-dive etc. in w/e direction, including into enemies, which will take them down w/o them alerting anyone or even being alerted themselves (what's that slo-mo mode called? alert mode or something?).
reflex mode
Cant wait for Sony to buy Metal Gear franchise from Konami and then let Hideo Kojima to design Meta gear solid 6
"9 Tricks That They Totally Told You in The Phantom Pain" What the title should have been.
Uh, no. They don't tell you all those tricks in the game. Some they can tell you if you stumble upon certain situations, but not always. And in the description it says things that could have been explained a lot better, which is true. They do a terrible job explaining things, like that the game isn't paused when you look at the map.
@@Paulafan5 Actually, Ocelot or Miller tells you in a mission that the map screen doesn't pause the game
If you go over them, then go backwards and run them over again, they die. And your vehicle gets splattered in blood too.
I'll be sure to try that.
That last one with riding the crate is really cool. I love all the hidden tricks and attention to detail in this game!
I guess you could call him
"big box"
I'll see myself out
A poster on carton box will distract a soldier, I would have never thought of this.
I assumed that riding a shipping container in fulton would just kill me so I never tried. Good to know.
"Being too rough with it might damage the box" ayyoooooo
You can use your night vision goggles to see in a sandstorm
great tip on riding the cargo home. Now I gotta try it.
after playing this game for 26 years i still didnt know this until i watched this video.
I fulton'd two wolves then next time I played, there's a puppy running around motherbase....
Also you can put troops in the trucks to Fulton them all out with just 1 use of it in stead of using 3-4
Upgrade everything.
The higher grade fultons the more it can pick up and the more fultons you can hold.
I have all my stuff completely upgraded and have 45 fultons.
I'm on my second playthrough, and this was actually helpful! Had no idea about the supply chain, and I'd forgotten About riding cargo. Thx!
quiet doesnt mark all the enemies in a base. at least not for me. she only marks half or 2/3 of them
DD will mark everyone
Quiet will mark everyone and provide supplies for you if you deploy her from a long enough distance and let her do recon long enough.
If you hold L trigger during a CQC combo you take the enemy's weapon and hold them up with it.
Diamond bears
This video should be called “things everybody tells you about the phantom pain”
1:11
If they're so good then how did they become PoWs?
Rambo was a PoW.... :/
...and, Chuck Norris.
and Big boss in mgs 3 and snake in mgs...
Not to mention, one of the POWs allows you to customize your weapon's
TIP for extracting A LOT of enemy soldiers in one go
You will need: Hand of Jehuty, wormhole extraction device, a truck, and a bunch of dudes.
It only cost 10.000gmp for the truck.
lol, I found out all these things myself, didn't know only about the posters being able to be stuck on the box :D
One more tip.
You can shoot the pilot of a helicopter with a sniper rifle. There is two soldier in one heli. You can either shoot the gunner to prevent it to shoot at you or shoot the pilot and the heli instantly goes down.
I always use the cargo trick when I'm surrounded by enemies or the LZ is a on the other side of the map.
Do not get rid of Quiet. She is by far the best ally and will make getting S ranks infinitely easier.
if you shoot at the lower face with a sniper (while the enemy has a helmet) you can still one shot headshot them
a strong strong strong competitor for game of the year. If fallout 4 chokes (fingers crossed that doesnt happen) then phantom has it in the bag.
+TheDyingScotsman really? Doesn't that defeat the purpose though?
+Bruce Wayne you should go for Arkham Knight lol jk.
I agree though, Fallout 4 should do well..
+Jose Luis same but Witcher 3 should be close imo, still prefer mgs5
+Jose Luis story is a bit scattered in mgs5 but it did NOT bother me much at all and gameplay is phenomenal
Jose Luis I guess I could say that the scattered part would be like rescuing a guy in a mission I will easily forget lmao.
Another thing the game never tells you is that when your laying down, you can press the CQC button to do a leg sweep.
these are some of the few reasons I plan to get metal gear survive
1. it has coop which I have been wanting
2. the fox engine is awesome
3. I will finally be able to use lethal non silenced guns and not feel like I am doing something wrong. mgsv was great but heavily encouraged stealth so it always felt wrong to be loud and the score would impact you if you used lethal weaponry
light819 well did you play the other games?
I got bored with peace Walker because after 5 it felt like a watered down mgsv
and I have not completely finished 4 yet but other than that yeah I have played them all
4 has got to be one of my personal favorites and iv ed been around since the beginning of the franchise
light819 Good, because I hate a fake fan.
I might give it a try if the opportunity presents itself, but I won't go out of my way to buy it.
Just got this game and I’m absolutely addicted
Who else is here because of PS+?
ChrisCa1601 me
Nope week one lol
RacerNoah u can also get it free for gold
The horse poop "ability" makes soldiers stop when they step in it and jeeps will slide.
Play on your birthday for a surprise
+awillison24 Oh do tell .. its months and moths till my birthday!
dang it .. now my birthday was over a month ago lol.
Don't forget the delivery spots at various outposts that you can equip your cardboard box for fast travel.
Never played a metal gear game so I went and bought MGSV. Before I play it what should I learn or know!?
Just a few in-game ideas and plot ideas I would have liked to see
In-Game Ideas
- presence of Afghan / African villagers and ability to interact with those villagers - in the game I noticed the presence of animals that can be extracted for an easy source of income and a pointless animal sanctuary platform (is Big Boss really a greenie?). I would have liked to see villagers, such as shepherds flocking their sheep, or kids flying kites or whatever, just to add to the game atmosphere. Would have been cool to perhaps use the villagers to help you in your mission, either by creating a diversion to allow you to sneak into outposts and villages unseen or seeking information out of them or using them to store caches of ammunition and weapons for you, stuff like that
- I liked the fact that if you infiltrated an enemy base camp and were spotted, they called in reinforcements and obviously those reinforcements trickle in from surrounding guard outposts. So much more difficult, rewarding and fun
- Survival Feature - Would have liked to seen the reintroduction of the survival minigame from MGS3 where you had to go in to a menu to feed Snake or deal with injuries - using a knife, bandages etc for bullet wounds and so on.
You can also use the cardboard box to fast travel.
The supply disruption is a lie. This will only disrupt production for a set amount of ops then you have to do the combat deployment again. Lame I think the same for the communication equipment applies but for a longer set of ops.
The anit-air radar is different and is permanent.
Anti air isn't permanent either
It's not a lie, it's just impermanent.
@@TheMitchellbegeng it is permenant.
If you wanna conserve your ammo, you can locate the radio / communications desk at an outpost & blow it up. Now they can't call for backup
Using the water gun to destroy coms equipment, guard will think it's a malfunction and won't think anything of it
Everybody gangsta until the box starts moving.
