Guys seriously Horse poo is THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY to stop vehicles with predicted routes. Just let the horse poo in their predicted road and see the magic happen. Also you didnt mention the teleport/fast travel system via box.
Some other tips. 1. You don't have to destroy the sattalites to disrupt enemy comms. Simply destroying the radio network (usually located inside a building in the base) will knock out all coms without having to take out the satalites. Tou dont need to use C4 or grenades either. Simply the shoot the radio and make a hasty retreat. 2. use your horse to block enemy vehicles and approch the vehicle from the side or behind from your cardboard box to fulton the vehicle and all solders/ prisoners with it. 3. You can pack solders/ prisoners into a vehicle and fulton all them in one shot without having to use multiple fulton devices. 4. When extracting prisoners/ solders, throw a smoke grenade at their feet before you fulton them. That will prevent the enemies from shooting the ballon. 5. You can snipe pilots from the helicopter with a supressed sniper rifle and bring it down silently, without getting an alert.
I put 100 hours into this game and I just realized that you can send troops to combat operations to cripple the enemies supply chain to helmets, NVGs, etc. This game is incredible.
Is it only temporary? I did this repeatedly and I seen no change. I had about 12 hours worth of dispatch missions just on the helmets before I finally gave up.
Something I've found really useful: If you've put an enemy to sleep with a tranq or stun round, you can kick them on the ground to wake them up and interrogate them. Most of my outpost raids now consist of tranq sniping everyone then waking, interrogating and extracting them one by one.
Got spotted and out of ammo? No problem! Just throw an empty clip at their face and bam, a Stun KO! Out of tranquilizers and surrounded? No problem! Go to your cassette tapes and play the coyote howl and BAM! Sleeping guards!
DODNF I think somewhere in Afghanistan. i just remember a guy standing by a table at an outpost. It had one of those open tent things covering the table and materials etc. Hopefully that helps.

+DannyLB Use lethal weapons equipped with suppressor, few hits and it'll toast. Be careful though, the sound of bullet hits will attract nearby enemies if they were close enough so make sure your surrounding is clear.
+LulzRoyce You can also go into the pause menu and "return to ACC" this'll put you back into the ACC for free. I think it counts as quitting a mission however, and doesn't count as evacuating. So ,only do it in free roam after a mission

One thing you forgot to mention about the cardboard box is that you can deliver yourself to different enemy outpost in it if you find the cargo loading zones and take a ticket
You don't even have to take out all the communication satellites at an outpost, just find the stack of radio equipment with the blue lights and destroy it to cripple all communications for that outpost!
+inademv Because IGNorant actually didn't tell anyone anything new. If you watched the gameplay trailers prior to MGS V release, everything was already mentioned. And even as you play the game, the game itself makes it quite obvious and tells you how these things happen. Just a clickbait title.
+Xepthrichros Not everybody watches gameplay trailers, especially if they were trying to keep as much of the game a surprise as possible. We also shouldn't be expected to watch gameplay trailers to find out gameplay elements such as the ones shown, it should be shown or at least hinted towards in the game itself. If I had to watch a video to know things existed, that's bad design. Not everything is obvious either: - The cardboard box stuff isn't shown or mentioned in game at all. I knew you could use a box from past MGS games, but I assumed all I could do is crouch in it and wasn't told or prompted to do anything else. - I know you can make D-horse poop, I still have no idea why when there probably is a reason you can. - I sort of had a feeling you could fulton out on a cargo crate after I noticed you can put one on top of it last night (though I didn't test my theory), but you're never told you can do something like that. I essentially got a hint by accident, something that won't necessarily happen since there's little reason to ever stand on top of a crate. That is with 90+ hours of gameplay. To be 90+ hours in and have received not even a small hint that that stuff can be done (or an explanation to what pooping actually does) is pretty shitty.
+Tao maybe that should teach you to explore more?? if theres something in the game that seems useless, most of the time there might be nifty little tricks otherwise they wouldnt be in the game lol
when you put quiet in scout mode, she'll also collect items that are scattered around the enemy base and leave them for you outside the base for you to collect them.
I like how we can knock out the enemy by slamming him into ground, and we can do a combo of them to take out multiple targets, but they'll wake up quickly. So just kick one so he'll regain consciousness, grab a guy and choke him out, repeat.
Jake Morris Cover Fire she goes all out, you need to have her cease fire and talk to her to stop. She works the best for me because she can scout whole area and know all enemy position instead of us doing recon.
kenji harima I know, but I get spotted for a brief second and try to grab them she'll shoot while I'm holding them, which sucks. And she misses people out of view sadly, I prefer DD for recon at least.
Jake Morris Well it's said it's how you "manage them" how will they react on the field. DD is best for distraction for guards and picking up enemies. D-Walker fully upgraded can do almost everything all support buddies can do.
+kenji harima I find D-Dog the most helpful, He Tags everyone in 100m radius so i can never be surprised, he sniffs prisoners thru walls, makes jobs so much easier. Quiet is okey too but she doesnt tag 100%
Uh, no. They don't tell you all those tricks in the game. Some they can tell you if you stumble upon certain situations, but not always. And in the description it says things that could have been explained a lot better, which is true. They do a terrible job explaining things, like that the game isn't paused when you look at the map.
I'm not sure if this was coincidence or not, but as I raided more enemy bases and extracted soldiers from the battlefield, I noticed that higher ranks were showing up more often. I've got up to mission 10 unlocked in the story, but decided to go level up R&D and support for the cargo 2 fulton upgrade. I went from rarely seeing rank B's to seeing them and rank A's all the time with A+ units on occasion without completing anymore of the main storyline or even facing off against Quiet.
#10: Multi-dive -- to move long distances fast, while remaining relatively silent, use the dive, & upon landing immediately tap your stance button to get in a crouch, then dive again, ad infinitum. if done correctly/quick enuf, you will never technically be in a crouch, or high enuf to be spotted. just dive agn *the instant* you tap the 'stance key' ('X' on PS4.) this is the fastest way, by far, to move while remaining almost silent & completely out of sight (prone), & is extremely useful esp for getting away from danger areas & retreating out of sight. give it a try. dive-crouch-dive-crouch-dive etc. in w/e direction, including into enemies, which will take them down w/o them alerting anyone or even being alerted themselves (what's that slo-mo mode called? alert mode or something?).
I jack trucks by tranquillising the driver and then the passenger. More badass. But horse poop works too. FYI driving over the tranquillised enemies with the truck does not kill them, just nudged them around.
Thanks for Video! I was busy Playing Resident Evil and Tomb Raider 2013 that somehow I had missed Phantom Pain.Pick up and Launch yourself on Crate is very useful Replay tip for me because I just got the Fulton Upgrade 3 years Late. Good Luck
MORE IMPORTANT FACTS: Get legendary gunsmith! this allows you to add attachments to a weapon that weren't originally supposed to be there. Like adding a suppressor to a sniper tranquilizer Demon points: The more you kill the larger the horn grows on snake's head. So only kill when you need to if you want to avoid demon snake. Showering: Basically a refresher it increases your health, reflex time and other attributes.
+dsgrsggjgfj Wait is that an actual horn on Snake's head? I thought it was a large piece of shrapnel that got stuck in his head (And if the doc. pulled it out it would have killed him).
+dsgrsggjgfj I got 2 more. Tossing a Magazine at an enemies head will stun them, it's the shortest possible stun but it works in a pinch. Mostly useful when you're using magazines to distract and get seen, you don't have to switch to a weapon. You can get back to the ACC for free, go to the pause menu and select "return to ACC". Be aware this counts as quitting and not as an evac, so don't use it on a mission.
+dsgrsggjgfj But it is shrapnel. That's the thing. It's not an actual horn, it's just that the more demon points you earn, the more the Shrapnel moves away from his brain (Which could be doing one of two things, either it's lessening the pressure on your optic nerve and lessening any hallucinations you might be having, or it's causing more hallucinations because of the pressure from any fluid that must be pushing it out)
+dsgrsggjgfj But not showering with a 100% bond with quiet is fun. If you return to the base with Quiet, with a 100% bond, and you're dirty enough to attract flies, there's a cut scene of you two showering and the guards watching. The morale then increases a bunch.
Well done IGN for an informative video less than 5 minutes long, no over long scenes or unnecessary babble. (I have no time to waste watching long vids for a snippet of info).
Upgrade everything. The higher grade fultons the more it can pick up and the more fultons you can hold. I have all my stuff completely upgraded and have 45 fultons.
They pretty much told you all of these things in the MGS5 gameplay demos and videos that came out before the game except for the adding posters on the boxes so they did pretty much tell you all this things. One of the things I find more useful that wasn't on this videos is that you can use the "Knock (Lure Enemy)" command at Mother Base to get the attention of your soldiers from pretty far away, saving you the time and trouble of having to run right up to everyone to get there morale up.
You can use the water pistol to destroy the main comms which sit usually on a desk, blue lights and it's silent. If you get spotted, you can also squirt them in the face and that'll give you time to CQC them, and/or other means.
The water pistol takes out electronics in one shot and doesn't cause alert status.
Omg
Thanks man, now I can’t get easier S ranks.

Also if you call a chopper in and the LZ is wrong [at Mother Base for example - because the all look like they're on the same level], you can select a new one via the map. You can also dismiss the helo if you wish [maybe you needed support, but you want to keep exploring etc]
0:37 looks like Kanye West
Lol that's what I thought
haha he showed up like "Ima let you finish playing but witcher 3 was one of the greatest games of all time".
+Jason diaz I wonder if the idea gets to him one day to make a game...he's arrogant enough to pull up something like that'"check out this game I'm starring in...it's about me and it's the best game that has ever existed. It's God among games. Well it would be God of all media but my last album got that one covered. I love myself and so should you...because I deserve it [...]"
+Jason diaz Loved The Witcher 3. But it ain't got shit on this GOTY material. Now only to wait for Fallout 4.
Mom: go play with the neighbors kid!
The neighbors kid: 1:23
Lmaooooo
Dude the container one. I didn't know you could hold on to it. Sooo helpful!
Almost all of these secrets are very clearly explained in-game.
THRILLHO I didn't know the thing about destroying supply houses but yeah you're right
Jonathan Klein That's been a thing since Snake Eater.
Larry Bird That second one is obvious. Not a secret.
Larry Bird the title also says that the game doesn't tell you
UHHHHH...no.
One thing you forgot to mention about the cardboard box is that you can deliver yourself to different enemy outpost in it if you find the cargo loading zones and take a ticket
You don't even have to take out all the communication satellites at an outpost, just find the stack of radio equipment with the blue lights and destroy it to cripple all communications for that outpost!
after playing this game for 26 years i still didnt know this until i watched this video.
You should have mentioned that you can fulton tanks.
and all vehicles with enemies inside them.
yeah just figured that out myself by mistake
Not everything is obvious either:
- The cardboard box stuff isn't shown or mentioned in game at all.
A poster on carton box will distract a soldier, I would have never thought of this.
EXTARCTION ARRIVED AT MOTHER BASE (WITH SEXY PC VOICE)
+TheDOMINO999 Fulton Extraction Expenses [-300 GMP]
CptSourceBird "That's an enemy gunship, a single burst from its machine gun can cut a man in half. Tread carefully boss"
EXTARCTION AROOVED AT MERTHER BAIS
Fun Fact : iDroid's voice actor is Donna Burke
when you put quiet in scout mode, she'll also collect items that are scattered around the enemy base and leave them for you outside the base for you to collect them.
Really ?? Wow cool
I like how we can knock out the enemy by slamming him into ground, and we can do a combo of them to take out multiple targets, but they'll wake up quickly. So just kick one so he'll regain consciousness, grab a guy and choke him out, repeat.
"Being too rough with it might damage the box" ayyoooooo
Quiet is the best overall around buddy. D-walker is also good IF you upgrade it to max.
+kenji harima I dunno, sometimes she shoots when I REALLY don't want her to.
No clue about the cargo containers . That's awesome and this video is very helpful !
"9 Tricks That They Totally Told You in The Phantom Pain" What the title should have been.
Uh, no. They don't tell you all those tricks in the game. Some they can tell you if you stumble upon certain situations, but not always. And in the description it says things that could have been explained a lot better, which is true. They do a terrible job explaining things, like that the game isn't paused when you look at the map.
@@Paulafan5 Actually, Ocelot or Miller tells you in a mission that the map screen doesn't pause the game
if you shoot at the lower face with a sniper (while the enemy has a helmet) you can still one shot headshot them
I'm not sure if this was coincidence or not, but as I raided more enemy bases and extracted soldiers from the battlefield, I noticed that higher ranks were showing up more often.
That box trick is a really good tip. I gotta start using that.
pretty sure they told me most of this.
no not everything
Ok so that was nine things we all knew already, cheers.
#10: Multi-dive -- to move long distances fast, while remaining relatively silent, use the dive, & upon landing immediately tap your stance button to get in a crouch, then dive again, ad infinitum. if done correctly/quick enuf, you will never technically be in a crouch, or high enuf to be spotted. just dive agn *the instant* you tap the 'stance key' ('X' on PS4.)
this is the fastest way, by far, to move while remaining almost silent & completely out of sight (prone), & is extremely useful esp for getting away from danger areas & retreating out of sight. give it a try.
dive-crouch-dive-crouch-dive etc. in w/e direction, including into enemies, which will take them down w/o them alerting anyone or even being alerted themselves (what's that slo-mo mode called? alert mode or something?).
reflex mode
0:34 really? :))
+Sergio Speed What?
+Sergio Speed Welcome to Metal Gear
0:52 is even worse...
The cargo container thing was the only one I didn't know, that's actually really cool.
I jack trucks by tranquillising the driver and then the passenger. More badass.
But horse poop works too.
FYI driving over the tranquillised enemies with the truck does not kill them, just nudged them around.
If you go over them, then go backwards and run them over again, they die. And your vehicle gets splattered in blood too.
I'll be sure to try that.
Thanks for Video! I was busy Playing Resident Evil and Tomb Raider 2013 that somehow I had missed Phantom Pain.Pick up and Launch yourself on Crate is very useful Replay tip for me because I just got the Fulton Upgrade 3 years Late. Good Luck
MORE IMPORTANT FACTS:
Get legendary gunsmith! this allows you to add attachments to a weapon that weren't originally supposed to be there. Like adding a suppressor to a sniper tranquilizer
Demon points: The more you kill the larger the horn grows on snake's head.
***** I thought it was too. But no, they are horns that grow every time you do bad stuff. Google "MGS5 demon points"
The last tip is mind blowing and less mentioned. Thank you😅
Typical IGN coming out with tips and tricks AFTER others uploaded the same tatics on RUclips.
2021 and still amazing 👌🏽👍🏼
lol, I found out all these things myself, didn't know only about the posters being able to be stuck on the box :D
I did NOT know about the cargo riding thing. Thanks guys.
I assumed that riding a shipping container in fulton would just kill me so I never tried. Good to know.
You can use your night vision goggles to see in a sandstorm
haha this game aged so extremelly well...its still one of the finest games out there..
Well done IGN for an informative video less than 5 minutes long, no over long scenes or unnecessary babble. (I have no time to waste watching long vids for a snippet of info).
Hey did you know that our Snake came with the ability to climb pipes?
Yeah,i climbed the pipes from the base. Also you can climb on things with cracks, walls.
Can't believe i didn't know that container trick would have helped a lot
Also you can put troops in the trucks to Fulton them all out with just 1 use of it in stead of using 3-4
Upgrade everything.
The higher grade fultons the more it can pick up and the more fultons you can hold.
I have all my stuff completely upgraded and have 45 fultons.
im waiting for my copy to arrive. thanks for the tricks.
I always use the cargo trick when I'm surrounded by enemies or the LZ is a on the other side of the map.
riding the cargo container home is something i haven't tried yet. that's great and makes sense.
Diamond bears
They pretty much told you all of these things in the MGS5 gameplay demos and videos that came out before the game except for the adding posters on the boxes so they did pretty much tell you all this things. One of the things I find more useful that wasn't on this videos is that you can use the "Knock (Lure Enemy)" command at Mother Base to get the attention of your soldiers from pretty far away, saving you the time and trouble of having to run right up to everyone to get there morale up.
Woah man that's useful thanks....
1:11
If they're so good then how did they become PoWs?
Rambo was a PoW.... :/
...and, Chuck Norris.
and Big boss in mgs 3 and snake in mgs...
Not to mention, one of the POWs allows you to customize your weapon's
You can use the water pistol to destroy the main comms which sit usually on a desk, blue lights and it's silent. If you get spotted, you can also squirt them in the face and that'll give you time to CQC them, and/or other means.
quiet doesnt mark all the enemies in a base. at least not for me. she only marks half or 2/3 of them
DD will mark everyone
Quiet will mark everyone and provide supplies for you if you deploy her from a long enough distance and let her do recon long enough.
it was just a little sec of the video but it already answered my question of HOW to control Quiet
The best game ever for ever
👌👍
Hi
Ever for ever?
