@rommebernardcutamora Considering how fucking terrible the first one was (IMO) that's not saying much. Only played it for 30 minutes, hurdled my PS5 controller across the room and immediately deleted the game from my SSD.
@@rommebernardcutamora To make it clear I'm talking about the first "Ghostrunner". I haven't played the sequel and even if it's released on PS Plus Extra/Premium I might download it like the first game and probably just throw an temper tantrum (as well as my PS5 controller) and delete that game as well.
about a year-ish ago, the original hd collection was made unavailable to purchase. i wondered why, but then this got announced and it all made sense. 😔
unfortunately that collection is a buggy mess, compared to the original. Funny enough konami actually fix some of the bug that blupoint did for this master collection
Yeah it's weird. I thought everyone knew that Konami was a bunch of old Japanese guys in suits making so much money from pachinko that they don't care how many fans they shit on.
Konami is definitely on the mount Rushmore of gaming, but they're one of the most greedy, franchise killing machines out there. If Bethesda did to TES or Fallout what they did to silent hill and MGS, people would lose their minds
I believe that the master collection uses linear scaling which is why mgs1 looks like blurry sheeet, they should have used nearest neighbour for the cleanest piexels. I have heard that they may be addressing this in a coming patch, but still shows the minimal effort made for these repackaged ports
@@SebTheSamMarten 240p in this case, actually! Few PS1 games made a serious effort at 480i in gameplay (mostly reserving it for menus, artwork and FMVs), and I don't think proper progressive scan 480p was even a thing on real hardware.
Really? I thought that 240p was left behind when we moved on to disc format. That's wild. I guess MGS1 was like, a launch title for the PSX, so it makes sense it would be the most primitive that the console was going to have available. @@LonelySpaceDetective
The blurriness in the MGS1 emulation is due to the default configuration of the emulators, which has the bilinear filter enabled, so they didn't even configure it.
Wait it's not a re-port but emulator? Horrible, since MGS1 HAS a PC version, though that has broken sound (fixable with fan patches) and lack of modern screen/controller options (many ways to fix latter but would love a port where Stealth doesn't lower the framerate to slideshow).
I don't think it looks blurry enough for it to be bilinear filtering. I could be wrong of course but that shit is a real mess and the textures still look pretty crispy here.
@@KasumiRINAI have the PC version with fixes and love it, playing it with a controller 1080p 16x9... Only a true nitpicker would complain of certain missing visual effects in cutscenes.
One thing I would push back on is that I like that they left in the disc swap animation. It reminds me a bit of the intermission built in to films like Lawrence of Arabia. Yeah, you could just cut that out of the home video releases, but it would take away from the context around the film.
I agree. It's nostalgic for old players but also let's new players know that this was what people had to do back in the day. Maybe if they added an option to skip it that would be a good compromise I guess.
Yeah, I find the animation cute; not to mention that they poke fun at the disc swap in MGS4, so if it were left out of the collection it may've posed a small issue if 4 gets remastered.
Another thing I push back on is the pressure sensitive buttons. I know some like them but you guys have won this war long enough I find them very difficult, often inconsistent, quite exhausting to use for prolonged periods of time, and its way to heavily dependent on the quality of your controller, something a simple button to aim would solve for all of those problems that was generated by it being pressure sensitive. I like a button that can just be used to aim so Ill agree to an option to enable it but I will not agree to it being the set standard.
@@kaisersoymilk6912 That is what I mean by it being way to heavily dependent on the quality of your controller. Which furthers why I don't like it also even if you have a DS 2/3 if its aftermarket that doesn't guarantee it has those features. Making the game not unplayable but definitely not good if you have one that doesn't.
@@Haka-f3k-uhow is this slop? They are the same games you played on ps1 which you all call the best games ever made but now that they are in a collection for people on consoles which had no access to it you call it a slop? You people are delusional Edit: the collection even includes versions which were not possible to emulate such as Japanese/preorder exclusive versions and bonuses. For all games in the pack. Yet you people are still complaining because you nitpicked extremely minor missed opportunities like resolution options. You are all entitled children. It’s sad. These are considered some of the greatest games ever made, produced on consoles which are dead and well gone from the production circle. You have been given a collection of all of the fan favourites with literally all the content that was ever made for each of them including versions which were impossible to experience even with emulators, and it was collectively less money than the standard price of a single modern game which nowadays would’ve made this collection 200+ dollars and a several hundred dollar preorder altogether with less content than this. Yet you still complain bc your pc has a SLIGHTLY better resolution. It’s actually insane. I cannot mentally fathom the pettiness.
The coolant spray being on the right stick was part of the Xbox HD collection too. It’s intended to replace the pressure sensitive control of the spray. It never made sense anyway considering spraying lightly with the coolant spray doesn’t actually have any function in gameplay besides maybe waking guards up slower
They could've used the PS5's adaptive triggers for it this time, oh wait, only Sony and Nintendo are the only ones with any innovation for their controllers? Alright boys pack it up, Xbox fucked it all up for everybody again.
@@Fuzzycatfurthe only control that isn't pressure sensitive is the switch one. Xbox has had pressure sensitive triggers since the 360. Do they provide tension and resistance? No. I think it's a cool feature of the PS5 controller, but I also don't find the PS5 controller to be the most comfortable.
yeah he clearly never played forza on xbox lol, 100% has pressure sensitive triggers. The real difference is the pressure sensitive BUTTONS from the ps2/ps3 controllers not being present on modern controllers, so konami had to do some workarounds@@Geebees93
@@FuzzycatfurWhat do you mean by xbox doesn't pressure sensitive triggers. It's an analog input, if you press it by half it sends 0.5, if you press it all the way it sends 1 etc. It's not just a button with 0 and 1 inputs.
MGS2 and MGS3 absolutely had content removed from their PS2 versions. MGS2 had a skateboarding mode where you could play as Snake or Raiden in a Tony Hawk Pro Skater style game mode, complete with a punk rock rendition of the MGS main theme. Removed from the HD collection and still absent here. MGS3 had a lot of content removed, including two game modes (online multiplayer and Snake vs Monkey mode) as well as all of the associated items and extras that came with those modes, such as Banana camo and Monkey Mask. The nightmare sequence was also removed, along with the radio conversations that referenced it.
The skateboarding game was actually a demo for Evolution Skateboarding. A game Konami made that featured Snake, Raiden, and even a vampire hunter from Castlevania as bonus unlockable characters with Big Shell and Dracula’s castle as levels.
IMPORTANT -You can get each game for 20 bucks instead to buy all of them -PC apparently has been confirmed to have mouse and keyboard from people who went in the Tokyo games show -Master books and screen play books apparently are extremely expensive by their own -Also they fixed bugs from the bluepoint hd collection -MGS1 allow you to create saves from Konami games for psychomantis

I've been watching footage of MGS from this collection, and I kept thinking "this look WAAAAAY too slow." Then it dawned on me that those fuckers are using the PAL version. Yours is the only review I've seen that mentions this. That's why you're the best.
PAL versions are those most patched up versions outside of Integral. Also not censored. Johnny's underwear or a blur filter. Pick your poison. I do believe you can still pick different region versions still though.

It'd be better than the bare-bones MGS1 port in this collection. Though yeah, MGS Twin Snakes cutscenes are stupid as hell and the voice actors aren't as good.
@@VEN0VA I never understood that argument There is literally not a single game in the MGS series that DOESN'T have stupid cutscenes though, and thats literally the best part ( Until MGSV replaced all the wacky stuff with boring melodrama ) Snake trying to outswim Ray at the end of MGS2, every member of dead cell, Big Boss getting his junk grabbed while cosplaying as raiden, volgin using force lightning to puppet a giant seige tank, the cobra unit, ocelots gun juggling and literal meowing MGS4, I dont even know where to begin there, theres not enough time in the day, go watch Steak Bentley if you need a refresher. EDIT: MGSV did have some stupid stuff I guess, it was mostly just Quiet and Skullface being ridiculous.
Just as a correction, the games in PAL were not capped at 30, it was 25fps. However, I never realized PAL came out in Australia too, so I've learnt something new haha
@floridaman98 So it was. It was very broken. It should fixed now. I think the version include though is the Japanese PS1 version and not the PC version. I'd be surprised if they fixed the PC Port though of Integral from the Japanese PS1 port if it is the PC version of Integral.
As someone who hasn't played any of these games since their original release, This collection was always going to be a must buy. The only concern I really had was how it would be monetized and if it released in a technically compromised state. Vol 2 will be the real test though, especially if they finally manage to get MGS4 on other hardware. There's also the spin off games that could very well be included like Rising and the ACID games....
Imagine being so stupid as to buying a crappy, half-assed collection, when BeetlePSX HW and PCSX 2 are doing a way, way, way better job in emulating and drastically enhancing the original versions in every way imaginable. Oh well, Konami thrives on suckers like that.
@@monkaWGiga The ACID games still top the list of my favourite franchise spin offs to date. I get why people were turned off by the idea of them, but they did incredible job working a turned based deck builder into the MGS formula. Extremely underrated titles.
Options for both integer scaling and a texture smoothing option on MGS1 to get rid of warping would be appreciated. Both are available in the Duckstation PS1 emulator, and make the game look a lot better, sharper and stable.
you can do some things with reshade to help blur things. it has all kinds of effects you can apply to any game. you can even play it in ASCII if you want your game to look like the matrix which is fun for about 5 seconds
@@jamesf111 because we've been begging for an official way to play these games on modern hardware, but seeing the state of all 3 games, it seems like a massive letdown unfortunately.

My goodness people are hopeless lmao.
Especially when the content of the game is divided based on discs, I think it's really cool when that's preserved. It's also a thing in games like Final Fantasy VIII Remastered where you're traveling through the overworld, and while it doesn't remind you to switch discs if you go back to different regions that haven't changed it _will_ tell you when you've cleared the story content of a disc on a brief intermission screen just as the original did. Those disc split points dramatically changed the structure of games to accommodate them so there's really no way to ever fully remove their influence on the original title.
especially if Vol 2 has MGS4. there's a codec joke with Otacon about switching discs on Shadow Moses. Wouldn't make sense to those who haven't played the games before if that wasn't there.
_The_ _Legacy_ _Collection_ was the ideal way to play these games (to include _4_ and _Peace_ _Walker_ ), though that's two generations removed now. Licensing is definitely holding it back. _4_ had Apple and Sony licensing imbedded into the game itself. _The_ _Twin_ _Snakes_ was licensed to Nintendo and Silicon Knights; legal litigation still surrounds this one. The later will probably _never_ get a re-release.
People forget that if you bought the MGS legacy collection the code for MGS1 is already expired since it only lasts for 10 years (2011-2021) also MGS1 doesn’t have trophies on PS3 but they do now on PS5! - also performance of 2 & 3 on PS3 dips pretty regularly down to like 30 fps at times during heavy scenes. On PS5 it’s pretty much lock 60. My only gripe with the master collection is that MGS1 is a bit blurry since it uses bilinear filter instead of integer and MGS 2 & 3 having worse texture than the PS3 version (most likely due to a bug) but those literally the ONLY negative of this collection, I dunno why people are blowing this out of proportion like it’s the worst release since GTA trilogy smh
@@AusOpening The changes present in this new release aren't being exaggerated in any way. The control scheme was changed, and not necessarily for the better, influencing how you interact with the in-game environment. An improved framerate is secondary to the fact that there are now *graphical* *tradeoffs* to consider when comparing these games to the originals. Hopefully this can all be patched, but, as is, it's a deterrent. I don't think many serious MGS fans are concerned about a 10 year old voucher or trophies.
We're probably not seeing an official MGS4 port because emulating the PS3 is notoriously difficult and resource intensive, and MGS4 was a game that leant on the CELL architecture heavily. People have got MGS4 playing on PC but I understand it's fairly buggy and requires a monster of a machine.
I honestly think its a shame we didn't see some of the newer additions from the 3ds version of Snake Eater get ported back into the HD version, would've really loved to have that crouch walk lol.
You can already do that via emulation. You need a pretty strong pc but you boot up citra in Bigscreen and change a setting in the emulator I don't remember the name of but it's pretty straight forward something to do with the 3d setting. Then you can play it in 3d in a big ass theater. I actually tested some games it was awesome.@@GangsterFrankensteinComputer

Never played a MGS game in my life. Been waiting for a way to play the entire franchise on one console (and ideally a modern console, I really dont like digging up old units). Was really stoked to see the announcement of this collection and that there would seemingly be more collections to fill out the rest of the series. That said, even if this collection was perfect with all the features diehard fans wanted, I'd never drop full price on a collection of 20 year old games. I'll be picking this up when it hits $20 or if it goes to PS+ for free.
My biggest concern and what I know isn't gonna happen is the special scenes from the PS2 version are locked into that version and we're most likely never gonna see them, the special The End death, the special dream sequence when you're in jail etc
I went out of my way and copped the PS2 collection of MGS2 and 3 since that collection had the subsistence versions, meaning 2 had the skating mode and 3 had the secret theatre. Really is disappointing when devs do the bare minimum for preserving their best IPs.

For those curious: The PAL / NTSC difference came from the televisions back then. In Europe they used PAL TVs with 50 Hz and in Japan and the US, they had the NTSC TVs with 60 Hz. This is also the reason why in most Nintendo consoles (that use cartridges) there are different shapes of cartridges or even "obstructions" that made non-compatible cartridge impossible to fit into the Super Famicom / SNES or even the N64. However: Nowadays the TVs dont care for this difference anymore. And monitors even less. It would have not mattered to have used the 60 Hz version except for: Thats probably how Hideo Kojima intended it to be since it was his known and used set up.
@@AngraMainiiu You are aware that I was talking about the old gaming consoles, right? This old PAL/NTSC differentiation is nowhere an issue anymore afaik.
Usually the reason 50hz versions of old games still get released is because those are the versions that are localised for European regions, so for licensing and language support it's easier to use those versions than to use the American 60hz versions. Not sure if that's specifically whats happening in this case for this collection, but it's what often happens with other rereleased games in Europe such as Code Veronica
In other words Americans don't speak too many languages so why should they cater to them n use the fast pace NTSC version instead of the slowass PAL version just because it's Europe approved model

Bought the collection on the PS3 9 years ago and I still go back to it from time to time. I'm only missing the MGS4 platinum, but I've yet to find the courage to tackle that monster.

Unless you really LOVE MGS4, don't platinum it because it'll ruin MGS4. It usually takes about 7 to 8 playthroughs to get all the emblems and if you play it over and over again, it gets tiresome. However, going after the Big Boss emblem is a lot of fun.

I really encourage people to actually watch the video instead of commenting too early. The biggest issue that this video highlighted is MGS 1 running in 50hz for european players, which you can at least fix by picking the US package when prompted before running the game. Everything else is really great. The video is arguing that its underwhelming because it didn't do much more than what it's supposed to (and that it was also made by bluepoint first and just a copy paste job of that). It's not a bad collection at all.
I love how all those games were ahead of its time, and even actually with all the soulless and repetitive boring games from actual times, playing these still makes me feel like im playing ahead of modern times, not everything are graphics, but the ridiculous amount of details behind.
Yeah it's insane that in many ways they're still far more advanced than modern games, the enemy AI and the amount of ways you can mess with it is just far far better than the vast majority of AAA games. It may be “bare bones” for some, but it’s still worth the price considering the amount of quality content offered, and it’s a great way to let the games be accessible on modern hardware (including Xbox and Nintendo consoles for once). Personally, I’m disappointed by this review.
I do find it interesting that NTSC/PAL versions run at different speeds due to their framerate, because it still happens to this day! Instead of using deltatime (which devs should), some parts of games rely on framerate for things like movement. Even Fallout 76 was like this at launch, which was why looking at the floor made you walk faster because your framerate would go up. This is also present in a lot of FromSoftware's work, which is why they're limited to 60fps - and it also might be a reason for why theres no rerelease of Bloodborne, because its designed to run at 30fps
as for the blurry look, they might be upscaling it from it's original resolution using a bicubic or bi-linear filter - while the PS1version obviously didn't. They might be using this upscale as a way to make up for them just emulating the original, and as such not being able to render at an actually higher resolution
@@minerkey682have you got a chance to play MGS1 on PS5? How’s the image quality - I remember playing it on PS3 it was so pixelated it hurt my eyes - not sure if there was any scaling involved
@AusOpening I haven't had the chance, no. Most recent Playstation I own is a PS2, and my latest xbox is only one generation after that xd. I mainly stick to PC

Ive never played these games growing up so this is my first go at them, your intro is actually how i feel about this game. So far it works for me. MGS1 is more "anime-inspired" than i thought it would be. I also bought it for the switch cuz i need more games for my switch and wanted to try this on the go.
MGS was always like this. Every single entry. It always starts off somewhat realistic, and at a certain point (usually 2-3 hours into the game) it starts to get weird, and by the end you have huge robots fighting each other. What sold me as a kid back then, is how they sell you everything that is happening as legit, and make it look legit.
my man I actually played through the 1st on Hard mode in DuckStation recently; with all the bells and whistles for making it nice and HD. Plan on getting to the 2nd in the next few months once I finish a few projects.
You should have touched on the sound too. The sound is fucked in MGS1 and 2, at least on PS4. Cyphers have broken repeating audio, the metal grating in MGS2 sounds like Raiden is playing on a basketball court, and the codec call beep sounds like it's low on batteries and/or wants to die. If you're familiar with the original audio, it's super jarring and shit. They messed something up to do with the audio.
Honestly this is pretty much what I expected. A bare bones but fine remaster. Other than the graphical and framerate issues with MGS1 I think this is fine to get on sale for half price or less. I'm more curious what Vol 2 will have as I think MGS4 definitely needs a remaster the most since it's stuck on the PS3, and getting rid of those ridiculous 5 to 10 minute install screens would be really nice. Maybe they'll include the Twin Snakes and other side games like AC!D in it as well. I just don't think they should include MGS5 as one of the games as it's already readily available on modern consoles/PC. Rising would be great though as it is available on PC but not modern consoles.
It's Konami, they'll lazily port MGS4 to other platforms, and they'll definitely add MGS5 to volume 2, it will give them an excuse to charge $70 for volume 2
@@ghost656metal8 I don't ever notice anyone even excited for mgs5. Hideo not be involved in the project is obviously noticed, especially with no original voices and minimum dialogue from snake. Mgs4 is still beautiful and I hope it gets a proper upgrade
MGS4 on PS3 did later get a patch for an optional main install so that you didn’t have to install data between chapters. I believe it was the same patch that added trophy support. That said, all major platforms nowadays require games in their entirety to be installed so I doubt that would be a thing at all in future MGS4 versions. Rising is a possible candidate for Vol.2, but for the record it can still be bought and played on Xbox One or Series X/S for now.
Here are my thoughts: This master collection was meant to be an easy/lazy release to generate money for the MGS3 remake. As long as MGS3 remake is good, I'm willing to look past a lot of these faults. Not happy about a lot of the faults but I'm sure I'll still end up buying it lol. Great video! Thanks for all the work and research you did!
Wait they're remaking 3, the only one that doesn't NEED a remake? Just make a port with updated 3DS controls and textures but uncapped framerate! It's two original Metal Gear (not Solid) and MGS1/2 that needed attention to bring them up. Not the one that was near perfect already.
@@KasumiRINAMGS2 should never be touched imo, I consider it more sacred than 3. That being said, I'm fairly certain their plan is to remake all the games by in-universe chronology. Start with Snake Eater, then (depending on which games they decide to remake) either Peace Walker or MG1/2 and then MGS1/2. Probably won't remake 4 I'm guessing but who knows.
@@KasumiRINA They are remaking the game entirely. Modern Graphics and controls. If MGS3 Delta does well, they will start remaking all the classics except for MGS4. They will prob never see that license again.
Downloaded the collection today. Haven’t started playing it yet, but only ever played MGS on PS1 (one of my favorite games as a teen). Been wanting to play 2 & 3 for years but didn’t want to have to use my PS2. I replayed MGS when the PS Mini came out and still love it. Don’t care that it’s not a perfect collection, just happy to have the games on my PS4. Will be nice to play at night while the wife is sleeping with a wireless controller & headset plugged in. I’m not into most new games (hate micro transactions & most online stuff) so I’ve held off on a PS5 although I’ll be getting the slim when it releases. All my PS4 games are stored on an external drive so I can just plug that into the 5 and start playing. Gonna cook a steak tomorrow evening, open a nice microbrew beer and get down on the games.
How does MGS1 look on the big screen? People say it looks blurry due to it’s upscaling but I remember playing the original non scaled 240p version on PS3 and it was a complete pixelated mess on my TV
How was it? I remember when i first played MGS2 back then. Remember the game came out in 2001. The graphics in this game were INSANE back then. I couldnt believe my eyes, and the 1st person aiming in a 3rd person game was actually extremely insane aswell. The cutscenes with the motion tracking, everything felt like the future. THESE games were truly next gen games, unlike the laughing stock of launch titles on the PS4 back then, like Ghosts or BF4 which looked only slightly better than on PS3
Still hyped, I wanted them on Steam for years for the achievements. Only replayed mgs2 in recent years. A shame though they didn't give it more love. It could have been a wonderful collection
Without Kojima’s involvement all the Metal Gear stuff Konami pushes for a quick buck is garbage. Kojima would’ve made sure this would’ve been worth buying if it was up to him.
Well the pressure sensitive button thing isnt really a shortcoming at all. Its a feature that can only be utilized by DS2/3 controllers so they cant really bring that to modern consoles.
They could have had their own version for ps5 since when you hold down the triggers you can feel pressure depending if the game is made for that. It's pretty cool!
I played MGS 3 for the first time a few years ago on the playstation 3 with the HD-collection. You are in for an really awesome game. The praise this game gets is not just nostalgic. This game holds up very well.
My parents bought me a used PS2 from a relative when I was about 13 or 14, with the console the guy included three games: NBA Street Vol. 2, DMC 2 and MGS2. Out of those I played MGS2 the most, I must've beaten it at least 4 or 5 times, I still remember the impression that mind-blowing crazy fuckery that is its ending sequence had on me. Then I learned there was a MGS3 and I remember watching videos and seeing listings online for months and months until I saved enough money to buy it. My parents didn't trust online shopping at the time so my only hope was to go to my local gamestop and pray they had a used copy lying around, this must have been like 2010 or 2011 so the game was by no means new at the time. I still remember how I felt when I saw it, it was the original red/orange cover art, no manuals tho but still, I was pretty lucky to find it. I beat it only once because pretty soon after I had to sell my console but I kept my copy of MGS3, at the time my favorite game of all time. After moving I displaced it and to this day I don't know where it is. I'm writing this minutes after beating it for the second time in the Master Collection. Sure. I can't believe how much of the game I still remembered. The first few hours were really really familiar, up until the point you learn about The Boss' defection I felt like I had played it a thousand times over. After that I remembered mostly cutscenes, the boss fights and a few gameplay segments/areas. It speaks to the impact this game had on me that after playing it only once as a pretty young teenager I was still able to recall a lot of key moments.
Having played the HD collection on the ps3,4, and Vita never got old. But I'm waiting for Mgs4 to finally be revived. Haven't touched it since 09 when my ps3 YoD itself.
this collection how it came out years and years ago on the ps3 is exactly the same experience as this one on the ps5. side note, its so weird they advertise with only the solid games but you can play the originals in the mgs3 game.
@@MindinVioletreally did the PS3 collection come with the soundtrack and all the books ??? Or simply the fact you still need a ps3 in the PS5 era to play the MGS series?? Not really a great deal anymore the Master Collection brings it to one generation...
@@MindinViolet it only has a download option from a code on a console that's a step away from being delisted and doesn't even have the amount of extra content that this collection has. It's 12 games on this thing and people don't really know you can run different regions of the MGS saga in here
I mean, they didn’t advertise this as anything more than what it was. They aren’t remakes or remasters KONAMI clearly has a remake plan in place starting with Delta. So if that’s what everyone was expecting, then you have to wait.
Losing the pressure sensitive button presses is such a huge loss to me, I mean obvs in the grand scheme of things you could argue it means little from a gameplay perspective, but from an artistic perspective it's a big loss, if you were aiming a gun at someone and tense you would have to focus on calming down and moving the gun away slowly I.E the button press, same with looking out of a locker you're hiding in, you'd want to be able to move slowly if people were close but quickly when you thought they were gone. These were very deliberate game design decisions and it's sad to see them chucked out because they were either too lazy or didn't understand it. Especially worse on PS5 considering the controller is supposed to be some borderline AR device
What I want to know is, does it still have the different unlocks for beating them a certain number of times? Playing mgs1 as a kid and unlocking a playable gray fox was awesome

Just say shit.
Bi-linear filtering... the greatest adversary of games running in 480p.
@@SebTheSamMarten 240p in this case, actually! Few PS1 games made a serious effort at 480i in gameplay (mostly reserving it for menus, artwork and FMVs), and I don't think proper progressive scan 480p was even a thing on real hardware.
I mean it looks like a PS1 game, I don't see the issue personally.

@@videogamerNattie98I don't think that modern controllers even have pressure sensitive buttons, only the DualShock 2 (and maybe 3) had them.

The coolant spray being on the right stick was part of the Xbox HD collection too. It’s intended to replace the pressure sensitive control of the spray. True but during the Arsenal shootout in the hexagon room you can use it to disorient the Tengu Soliders for a no kill run so it’s got some use.

The Disc change in MGS1 is iconic, I'm glad they kept it.

Blud really saying this is mega man legacy collection ☠️

Was really stoked to see the announcement of this collection and that there would seemingly be more collections to fill out the rest of the series. That said, even if this collection was perfect with all the features diehard fans wanted, I'd never drop full price on a collection of 20 year old games.

More likely its that the original PAL releases contain additional content and a lot (a shocking amount) of bug fixes compared to the NTSC version.

You really think that game is even happening? Over a year since the announcement of SH2R, not even a single pic has been released since.
@@caddy7779they arent, they are using the original voice files.
I'll die on the hill that Twin Snakes is fucking rad
Why do people play games for achievements instead of enjoyment?

Without Kojima’s involvement all the Metal Gear stuff Konami pushes for a quick buck is garbage. Kojima would’ve made sure this would’ve been worth buying if it was up to him.
Well the pressure sensitive button thing isnt really a shortcoming at all. Its a feature that can only be utilized by DS2/3 controllers so they cant really bring that to modern consoles.
They could have had their own version for ps5 since when you hold down the triggers you can feel pressure depending if the game is made for that. It's pretty cool!
The legacy collection was 20 bucks on amazon like 2 years ago and it has everything but the final 2
that Michael Scott cover cracked me up
This is why I bought the legacy collection a few weeks ago and just called it a day I’m not missing much
Gonna grab a copy because I've never experienced MGS3. So it will be my first time. Also to prepare for the remake
One of the best games ever. Have fun
@@saschaberger3212 Ty. Will do
There's also a HD Collection for the PS3 and X360.
I played MGS 3 for the first time a few years ago on the playstation 3 with the HD-collection.
You are in for an really awesome game. The praise this game gets is not just nostalgic. This game holds up very well.
@@DeadPhoenix86DPNo more, it was delisted after some historical footage licenses expired
SAVEMGO
this collection how it came out years and years ago on the ps3 is exactly the same experience as this one on the ps5. side note, its so weird they advertise with only the solid games but you can play the originals in the mgs3 game.
I replayed the series a while ago on the PS3. This feels like a re-release of the same thing at a higher price and with less content.
@@MindinVioletreally did the PS3 collection come with the soundtrack and all the books ??? Or simply the fact you still need a ps3 in the PS5 era to play the MGS series?? Not really a great deal anymore the Master Collection brings it to one generation...
@@MindinViolethow is it less content when that HD collection doesn't even have MGS, nor MGS Intregal, which never released in the west?
@@stranded_ninjagaming5215 Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection for PS3 includes MGS 1-4 and Peace Walker.
AR device with no pressure sensitive face button.
For this one, blame it on sony, not Konami.
@@DocDarkAngelo why not both hahaha
What I want to know is, does it still have the different unlocks for beating them a certain number of times? Playing mgs1 as a kid and unlocking a playable gray fox was awesome
Yeah, it’s in there. Tuxedo for beating the game 3 times. Grey Fox. Meryl wearing the stealth suit, etc. It’s all in there.
Wtf I beat the game all the time as a kid and didn't know about the grey fox or Meryl ones.
