  • Hi all, I'm a PMDG tech team member and real life 737 pilot. Here is my next video in the 737 tutorial series.
    In this tutorial we are going to climb to our cruise level, starting at the point where the after takeoff checklist has just been completed.
    Please watch it in together with the theoretical instruction where I'm explaining some backgrounds.
    • PMDG 737-700 for MSFS ...
    The video has been taken using a pre-release beta version of the product, so you can expect to see some issues that will be fixed before release. There's no need to point those out as the team will be aware and working on them already. For example the trim sound is not yet implemented.
    If you like my videos please consider a small donation as it's taking a lot of time and effort to create these.

    These tutorials are not designed as absolute beginner tutorials. It is expected that the viewer already has basic experience with airliners and knows the basics how to operate an aircraft.
    Instead these tutorials will focus on the 737NG as an aircraft and the particularities of how to operate it.
    I'll be closing this introduction by saying that I'm not a professional RUclipsr or Streamer quite yet and these videos are my very first that actually get more than a hundret clicks. I have never before created such content so bear with me for doing beginner mistakes.
    I record straight from the sim without any fancy stuff going on in the background.

    Amazing...more "real pilot stuff" to be learned. I love all that "10 Checks" and " The reverse L technique" things. For a sim only pilot like me, this is immersion level 3000! Love it!

    Where is the option for those circular fuel gauges with the numbers inside? The ones I've seen are just numbers. I like it!

    Hi, this is a really great series, I’ve learnt so much from these videos. Thank you so much. Is the 121.5 frequency a standard emergency frequency? Or is that dependant on your location?

    Hello Emanuel once again great videos just having a problem figuring out what order these should be watched in is it possible to arrange the play list in order was trying to figure out a way to sort it but can’t find any on RUclips some of the tutorials have duplicate numbers and some don’t have numbers at all getting confusing

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Год назад

      The normal operations tutorials for a standard A to B flight should all have correct numbers and should be in a playlist already in the correct order. At least that's what I see on the channel.
      The other tutorials that deal with certain systems or give background knowledge don't have any numbers on them since they don't belong into any particular order.

    My vertical speed does not go higher than 1500. Is that something I need to set in my FMC or how should I go about it?

    Trim sounds are there, but oh my do they need adjusting. That constant grinding noise that lasts 3/4ths of a second is so annoying hahaha!

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  2 года назад +2

      Yep, they most certainly do. There's currently a LOT going on behind the scenes to improve those. It's only a first version and still highly work in progress.

    nice one thanks - i noticed you keep manually adjusting the 'heading' on the a/p mcp - even though lnav is engaged? is this just 'house keeping' to keep the mcp heading matched to approx lnav? sorry if ive missed this bit

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  2 года назад +2

      There are several reasons for keeping the heading bug in sync, some of them include:
      - Ability to quickly set a new heading if required by ATC, especially the famous "turn 5 or 10 degrees left/right"
      - Ability to go to HDG SEL quickly if LNAV acts up (or both FMCs fail)
      It really becomes second nature to keep the heading bug in sync for Boeing pilots.

    Thanks for the video, is it. Normal to hear the trim wheel sounds meaning that the aircraft was continuously trimming in the video ?

    • @sailwesterly5444
      @sailwesterly5444 2 года назад +2

      Certainly; during any changes to V/S (as our Captain was - whilst demonstrating the 3-2-1 Rule) and as the aircraft levels at Cruise Alt - the trim would be making almost constant adjustments. As indeed would you if you were hand-flying the aircraft.

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  2 года назад +2

      In the current version the AP does a bit too much trimming, thus you hear the sound more often than in the real plane. But it's really still work in progress, nothing is final about that yet.

    QUESTION: If there is fuel in the center tanks, why must the fuel pumps remain off until FL 100?

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  2 года назад +1

      To avoid nonsense master cautions from fuel moving in the tanks and temporarily running the pumps dry.

    Hello captain . some people say that FS2020 does not have a correct flight Behaviour and its flight model is not true . whats your Idea as a real pilot ?

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  2 года назад +4

      Well, NO simulator has a "true" flight model. Even in the full flight simulators you can easily tell that it's a computed flight model and it does behave different than the real airplane.
      It is good for what you can do in a sim, probably among the best in MSFS.
      And the MSFS flight model is quite a bit better than the P3D model. X-Plane may feel a bit better but lacks behind in so many other ways.
