Flying from Lanzarote to Tenerife in the PMDG 737-800 in Microsoft Flight Simulator

- A quick flight from Lanzarotte to Tenerife in the PMDG 737-800. A little unorthodox both in terms of routing, and the methods we use to execute a late descent into Tenerife, but good fun. Tenerife is beatiful in the simulator, and the Orbx version of the South airport is very, very accurate.

p.s. if RUclips still only has 720p that's because RUclips is going incredibly slowly this evening :/
You read my mind Jon, I was just going to say...only 360 available here in Brisbane, that's ok :) I skipped to the landing bit, which I'll watch now :) All good, keep posting because I'm watching :)
Kids haha ! You say that now but I would pay double to have my daughter come away with us I miss her on holidays !
Great landing once again; butter class! Also for those reading the comments: When you get the reset mcp alt message it means it's time to reduce the altitude selected, if you do that before you reach TOD the autopilot will start the descent, if you miss that for any reason you can just put vnav off and on and it should start descending. I think the "alt intv" button does that too but I can never remember! Cheers!
Landed at Lanzarote on Jet2 about a month ago, now im thinking of buying the PMDG haha.
33:13 you flew passed the TOD and didn’t set a lower altitude in the MCP.
Glad it's not just me who gets home from a holiday and immediately recreates the flight using the same plane. For me it was Jet 2 737-800 from Manchester - Barcelona. A great approach along the coast!
It was really just interested to see how accurate the Tenerife south airport was - then had to invent a flight that didn't take too long to visit it :)
Done this flight a lot in the 800 and also Binter liveried ATR :-)
Would you be abe to post somewhere all your individual TCA throttle settings for the various addon aircraft? That is one of the frustrating things about the tca throttle and MSFS is how each aircraft reacts differently with the TCA airbus throttle and its settings. Thanks!
Erm... that would take hours :)
Welcome back, Jon. Hope you had fun on your Tenerife hols. I know I missed you.
Now back to business. Are you still using the Tobii? I do but have limited it's time to taxiing, take off and when I want to rotate my views during cruise. I see a lot of its weaknesses now but I had far more trouble getting my axes right with TrackIR.
Yep - I'm selective about when I use it - for the big jets, I switch it off while configuring the cockpit.
Nice. Tenerife is on my list for custom airports for my island hopping routes. Need to spend some time in the pmdg also. Ive owned it for several months, but always fly the fenix.
Hey jon, I hope you're doing well. im just wondering have you had a problem on the 737 800 were the yoke is fully forward and unmoveable if you have how do i fix it?
Remember to press ALT INTV right next to the ALT nob when in VNAV mode to activate the target attitude 😊
Tenerife North is a beautiful airport as well (CGXO) I bought from JustFlight as soon as it was released :)
I think odd and even altitudes only apply to under the transnational hights
Now that I've got a good feel for this plane and switches, I wish they had an option to set all switches to off so we could put them on :) at 27:50 you have 4 landing switches. Am I imagining this but I think I only have two landing switches, or maybe its the 600. 51:40 another great info to add to the list. Thanks Jon.
The PMDG aircraft have different hardware load-outs depending on the livery chosen. Each livery reflects a real-world counterpart. There are lots of options in the PMDG menu of the FMC that let you choose hardware.
Missed ur amazing flights very well done
Thanks!
Good work Jon !
