    I was constantly slamming the 800 into the runway at about -450 / -500fps landing rate, or floating due to ground effects. After this video I haven't landed over -150fps. I like to set a 10 mile perimeter around the airport and try to be at 170knots when I cross that threshold. That has been a big help also. Thank you for this channel

    You’ve taught me so much about this plane. Watched all tutorials! I was wondering, in terms of the forecasts page, my cruising altitude was FL300, so I input FL310, 200, and 150. How do I input the 100? There’s only 3 spots to input on forecast page

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  12 дней назад +1

      You can only put in three, so you put the most relevant ones for your flight. Since you were cruising at FL300, I would put in 200, 150, and 100.

    Stupid question, the speed tape keeps shifting upward and downward when I’m trying to lower flaps to their respective position on landing. It will do so drastically enough to alert the autopilot and cause either over speed for flaps or throttle to automatically increase above speed limits. Any help on how to stop this?

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  10 месяцев назад

      Are you landing in a lot of wind? That can cause some wild variations in airspeed.

    • @gspfan93
      @gspfan93 10 месяцев назад

      @@FlightSimSchool Sometimes, that does cause it to fluctuate. I just never see other RUclipsr's have the rolling speed tape on approach. I used the +10 speed for each flap setting and it helped!

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  10 месяцев назад

      Now that I think about it, on my first few tries I did have similar issues, in my case it was because I was trying to do too much in too short a time. I made my final approaches longer and it helped to slowly bring the speed down on the speed dial.

    I'm having an issue where this plane keeps going vertical on me whenever I am on a final approach. I will get on the glideslope and turn on app mode and both of the autopilots and whenever it gets close to the ground, it will disconnect the autopilot and go vertical. I can't get this right. I will try this and see what happens.

    Can you show how you would find the landing altitude for an airport that you set in the OHP please?

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  10 месяцев назад +1

      The altitude on the overhead panel is for the pressurization system. If I remember correctly, it's rounded to the closest 50 feet, so you would look on your approach chart, find the airport elevation (usually in the top part of the chart), and turn the knob to set it to the altitude closest to that.

    Hi Marc, this is a very good and educational video. I’m pretty familiar with ILS landings with the PMDG 737-800. But I’m struggling with a kind of bug. As long as the wheels are connected to the ground it’s impossible to toggle the VS button and LNAV button. During the take off the moment when I am not connected to the runway anymore, I can toggle the buttons which become active with the green light. For sure there is some configuration needed to fix this. I know in real life you can already toggle the buttons before takeoff so you only have to press the CMD button to fly on autopilot after the takeoff. Would be great if you have the solution! Thanks in advance 😁

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Pascal, yes I’ve noticed that issue as well. Sometimes it’s because I missed a step in the FMC, but often times I’ve done everything right, and it still won’t arm LNAV until I’m airborne. It might be worth creating a thread on the PMDG forums to see if anyone else has any insights.
