Ah, finally some tutorials with good pace in a "bullet point" style. No off topic talk, no "uhm uhm", no re-explaining again and again. RUclipsrs seem to forget we have a pause/rewind button if things are not clear or too fast first time around. Thanks so much!👍
hey your tutorials are just perfect. ive had the pmdg 737 for a year now and haven't programmed it because other tutorials have either left something out or their pace just too fast for me. im a total beginner and you got me up and running and even did a takeoff and ils approach and landing. Thank you so much for your videos. Ive tried many others and you are by fat the best for me at least. have a wonderful day .
Wow. I can't say enough about how great these 737 videos are. I'm a life-long yet mostly casual simmer who just bought the PMDG 737 and have been aiming to get into airliners for the first time. These videos are absolutely perfect for my background and the level of complexity I'm trying to achieve. SO MANY other videos that claim to be for beginners seem to assume a lot of background knowledge- for example, they show how to input an approach on the FMC without explaining how they chose that approach in the first place. At one point I thought airliners were totally out of reach for me, but these videos were a game changer. Looking forward to more 737 content in the future!
@@FlightSimSchool great tutorial bro! I have a question I bought the 737-800 best $75 I’ve ever spent! But all of a sudden I can move my rudder and on the flight deck I have this flt cont and warning light on, I’m on series x, it’s weird? Any suggestions bro!
@@chuck176 That sounds like you're out of hydraulic fluid. If you go into FS Actions, there's a maintenance menu and an option to service the plane, apply them all, and try again?
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING AN XBOXer tutorial for this plane!!!!!! So often we lowly consolers feel extremely left out in the world of flight simming! I can’t afford a PC competent enough to run this sim plus I like using my 55” tv as a monitor! PLEASE continue to keep us in mind in the future as HOPEFULLY more airliners become available to XBOX! This video has helped me so much in getting this plane of the ground and in the air!
The shade that PC'ers cast over console users is irritating. Oh please forgive me for wanting to spend only $500 to get out of the box performance similar to a >$6000 PC. I've done PC's in the past, and they are irritating...so many requirements, especially if you want cutting edge performance and luxuries like quiet cooling. I do realize that xBox is unlikely ever to get VatSim but that's not really my ambition. It would be nice to get updated AIRAC info and Navigraph integration, but for now I'm okay with back-grading my Navigraph plans to the older settings found on the xBox PMDG 737-800.
Thank you🎉 Very happy as a casual simmer on Xbox X with the PMDG737NG800. It runs very smooth and the aircraft handles amazing. I need to watch a full flight tutorial as I dont know how to use the autopilot😂🛫✈️🛬 Safe travels🤙
I very much like how you have deliberately included "wrinkles" in this planning, especially the deletion of the vector route, and including a route discontinuity that is left in. It causes you to think about the reality of the route and especially of the approach. My earlier attempts at this were far too based on just blindly typing in the output of SimBrief and wondering why my routing got screwed up.
You’re right, there are a lot of subtleties to learn about the FMC, I picked this route specifically so that we could look at a few of those edge cases. Glad you enjoyed it :)
really hope the nav data thing doesn't get too messed up in the long run. Hopefully PMDG can find a way to update the data in the fmc. thanks for the video!
Great Video, helps a lot. Just wondering why you set your fuel that you loaded into the plain as exactly what the Block Fuel was, was that just for the video. I keep seeing from airlines that it is Block Fuel rounded up to the nearest 100 then plus 100 for contingency (Long taxi, delays after push back, de-ice time in the winter etc.).
Thanks for a great tutorial series. In this episode you disregard the CI used in Simbrief and use a different one in the FMC. Wouldn't a different CI result in a different Block Fuel value? Wouldn't it be better to adjust the CI in Simbrief before pressing the Generate Flight 'button'?
Interesting tutorial. My experience with the 737-600 is frustrating because i always encounter a problem whichever tutorial I try to follow, and it's not the same one. In your case all seemed right until the STEP feature which doesn't show on my display. The second issue is that when trying to enter the V2 speed nothing works and I don't have any thing showing for speed, altitude etc. The displays are blank. To the best of my knowledge I have completed each of your steps to that point/ .
Some reason when I start up the capt MFD doesn’t turn on only the FO MFD does and when I go onto the FMC for the settings after I choose something the FMC just shuts down
It goes into single FMC mode with just the battery on. My guess would be ground power isn’t connected or on. You can check it in the Ground Services Menu. You can also start the APU to see if it helps keep both FMCs on.
@@FlightSimSchool I bought the 800 on release night on series x omg the best $75 I’ve ever spent! Can’t wait to set up a flight plan! And can’t wait for liveries!
You can go one of two ways. Option 1 is to tell simbrief you're fully loaded, and set the plane to the same thing, like that your fuel numbers will be more accurate. Option 2 is to let simbrief choose its random value, but then you need to go into FS Actions and set all that up correctly. I didn't mention this in the video mostly because you don't need to worry about fuel planning too much when you're just getting started, but I am preparing a follow up video about it.
bro , after fill the data on mcdu why me still cant request ifr clearance to atc? it just appear request taxi depart north south west east. In a32nx after i entered the sim brief data , i can request the ifr clearance but in pmdg 737 the ifr clearance button in atc doesnt appear
I have the 737 max & recently got the 737-800 but on the 800 I can’t figure out the ground service outside of ramp being connected that seems to be all I can do any help?
All the options should be functional in the FMC under the Groud Services tab. Say if you go into the Payload or Doors page, you should be able to change stuff however you like
@@FlightSimSchoolok I’ll check & see when I get home… I know looking at everyone’s videos all the ground services says “request” on all 4 pages but on mine nothing is available to do it says “engi inhibit” but I’ll check again thank you!
Did you update your AIRAC data with the Navigraph NavData Center? It sounds like there is a disconnect between the plane's data and what's in Navigraph
There is now. It wasn't available directly through the FMC at the time I recorded this, so I did everything by hand for Xbox users & so that you understand how it all works behind the scenes.
@@CaribbeanSimPilot I haven't covered it yet. You need to put your Simbrief Alias on the tablet in the settings, and then on the Route page there'll be a Simbrief option that should appear. I'm pretty sure others have covered it in detail if you need more explanation.

For the STEP option to appear on the LEGS page you need to put the ND into PLAN mode.
@@FlightSimSchool Hi how do I do that??
I show you how to do it at 12:13, it’s the dial above the ND
Tried this but the 'v475' airway no longer works for me. Any pointers if you're still responding to comments?
You don’t absolutely need to enter the airway, you can just put the waypoints and it’ll still be fine.

Simbrief will put in some random number of passengers, and calculate fuel based on that payload, so should we leave the payload to 100%?

I wouldn’t bother with the built in ATC, it’s garbage.
Hello I have questions so when I finished doing my route and it the legs button I didn’t see the step button any answers
You have to put the ND into plan mode; it's the knob just above the PFD that has a few settings, including one that say PLN for Plan on it
