Nicely done Captain! Very nice thorough, professional tutorial on the go-around procedure in 737. Learned several items I did not previously know, and enjoyed your execution of the go-around. Thanks immensely for the time and effort to produce this tutorial.
Thanks for this Series. I watched the Autoland video yesterday and I was wanting a Go-Around tutorial. Today you delivered. Great work thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Nice tutorial to join the series! A useful note to add, there is a keybind in MSFS that sets GA throttle too. Search "Auto Throttle to GA" in the controls (found under the Autopilot section rather than Power Management section). Set that to a button and you won't need to use the click spots in future :D
I have been watching your video's for a few weeks now, and I have to say that they are fantastic! However, I did not know you are telepathic. last night I decided that I wanted to learn the Go around SOP today. So I am over over the moon to have logged into youtube this afternoon and this video was waiting for me!
Thank you for the lessons! It's really cool to know that we're using procedures that are close to the real thing, even though it's only at home simulation level.
This was great but how do you re-setup the approach after the missed approach? I’m currently in a hold new KLAS and have now Idea how to reconfigure the fmc for ils 26R
Wow….had no idea the click spots for the TOGA was there on the FCU. I recently transitioned from the Fenix a320 to the PMDG 737, and have really appreciated your videos.
How do you manage the Auto-Thrust generally. When is it normally disengaged ( if it is at all... ) before a landing. On this Go-Around I noticed you left it on. Is it left on in case of a non visual landing so that it is ready for the Go Around or if it was disengaged is it re-engaged before pushing TOGA? Many thanks!
Thank you so much Captain!, I started yesterday to watch your playlist up to know and can't stop it !!!, I will continue and try to practice all exercices in order to take even more plaisir to fly with the wonderfull PMDG 737. Thanks again ;-))
Hi, there's not really a lot to say about the panel, except for battery, GPU and the generators you don't touch it as a pilot. The rest is pretty much all for maintenance.
Hi! Thanks for this useful video (as usual). I didn't understand why there is not a real Go around button on the MCP. Could you explain ? Thank you again !
Does the speed window close automatically as soon as u press the TOGA buttons ? Regardless of if its a single channel or a dual channel approach? My understanding is that you never have to BUG UP in a two engine go around cuz the flap lever will drive the bug speed up but in a single engine go around you do have to manually set the bug speed to UP cuz theres no auto acceleration please correct me if i am wrong :) trying to understand this whole thing
Awesome tutorial! I'm definitely going to try this later today. I had a question regarding attempting to get on final again and capturing the ILS. Will my FMC still have the route/legs to follow the route again, or will I need to enter it into the FMC?
Very interesting video (like all the others). It would be interesting to have another video for the GA when you are in short final and you have already disengaged both AP and AT. Great job!
I watched the video of the automatic landing last time and followed it. Sometimes when I turn on Autopilot CMD B, A turns off, and when I turn on A again, B turns off. What is the cause?
Hi Emmanuel, if I go the TOGA (reduced) power manually, do I still have to press the TOGA Button, so the system knows, that we are in a GoAround Situation?
There is one situation that confuses me how a go around would work. You're following an ILS, you disconnect autopilot and auto throttle because you want to fly manually but leave the LOC and G/S mode on for FD guidance. If the 737 model is correct right now you cannot engage G/A mode because the system is not armed, but you can't re-arm the auto throttle for G/A because it will just turn on again with FD's and go back to MCP SPEED mode. However if you turn off or reset FD's you loose the guidance and have to do fully visual/raw data. Can you simply not have FD guidance whilst manually using autothrotte in Boeing? I'm more an Airbus person and this is perfectly do-able due to the different nature of the autothrust system and its activation.
On my side GA mode engages perfectly fine from manual flight. You'll have to set go around thrust manually if the A/T wasn't armed previously. In order to have A/T GA mode available during a go around you have to use the A/T before the go around happens.
@@A330Driver yes it engages if flying manually but with LOC and G/S still on the FMA you cannot arm the autothrottle because it will just switch fully on again. So you either have AT on or off and have to manually add thrust. Or you reset FD’s and remove LOC and G/S guidance and fly raw data fir the last bit
Because we're never passing the minimum. Watch the altimeter when we start the go around. It's around 100ft above the minimum (you can hear the plane calling "plus hundret") but we never descend down to the minimums.
Remember the call is “go around flaps 15, set go around thrust”. That’s an order to the PM. Though as PF auf just push the levers forward to like 90% and then have the PM do the fine tuning.

This tutorial season is really helpful flying the 737. Thx for the time and effort you put into it. Well done!

Lol, Yeah I thought the same thing. I said last night he needs to make a Go Around tutorial.
haha, it was a long requested topic, so I thought it was finally time to cover it!

Guten morgen, sir. Nice, concise, easy to understand video. Feel much more confident on the 737 flight deck after going through all of your tutorials.

Hey, fantastic video! Do you plan on doing a tutorial on the electric panel?
Hi, there's not really a lot to say about the panel, except for battery, GPU and the generators you don't touch it as a pilot. The rest is pretty much all for maintenance.
Ah alright, what about operating radios? For example the differences between the mic selector switches
Great tutorial as always.
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for GA tutorial. Why the sound does come from stab trim during whole climb?
It's the Speed Trim System that's working to give you a more "natural" flight envelope.

There really is about no difference except that you have to set thrust manually. Use 90% in that case.

ILS frequencies and courses not set on both radios?
@@A330Driver I activated both ILS frequencies
Any chances for a RNP approach tutorial ? i tried in SION it didn't want to follow the path unfortunatly
I've already done one at TNCM ;-)
Just go up a bit in the playlist where this video is contained.
Hi Emmanuel, if I go the TOGA (reduced) power manually, do I still have to press the TOGA Button, so the system knows, that we are in a GoAround Situation?

yes, you do. There are more system relying on that information than just the Autothrottle.

90%N1 will normally go quite well.

what is a missed approach frequency and where can i find it?
Frequency of the navaids you need for the missed approach in question. You can find them on the charts.
What checklist do you use?
I'm using my airlines own checklist. For copyright reasons I am unfortunately not allowed to share it.
What is the go around procedure if you aren’t using auto-throttle on approach?
Set thrust manually
