    Just curious, when landing the real plane do you feel the pressure applied by the autobrakes through the hydraulic system in the pedals? As in are the pedals lighter to push with the autobrakes engaged until you reach the pressure needed to disengage them, then you feel an increase in how much you have to push the pedals? Sort of similar to releasing a car parking brake (in an older car..)?

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Год назад +2

      Hi, no you don't. The pedals don't move from the autobrake application. You need to push them to the level of pressure currently applied by the ABK and then they disengage

      737 has a pressurised feel and centering unit which varies force feedback as well as huge travel compared to desk hardware. How you feel this will be down to the sim physics. You can get a thrust master yoke which is pendular which will help you get closer to a pendular motion at a relatively affordable price point.

    Quick question, is it possible on real life to adjust the brightness of the mcp display screens and the clock? At night it's so bright and I can't figure how to dim these or if it's even possible

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Год назад +2

      MCP is done fully automatic in the real plane.
      The clocks are tied to the main panel backlighting, however due to a technical limitation with MSFS this is currently not possible in the sim.

    Hello Emmanuel, thank you so much for all your tutorials.
    Can someone help me? My brakes do not work !
    and I don’t mean the troubles that most people are having with how to engage and disengage them. I can do all of that. However when I roll forward taxing, I literally cannot stop. I have had my brakes bound to my Xbox controller to Y since day 1 of August 2020, and have never had a problem, infact brakes were stopping on the PMDG 29,30, but not now on .31.
    I can see the pedals going to the floor, but the plane keeps rolling. Most of the bugs I don’t mind however this one is debilitating:) any help or ideas of what I should try would be great!

      @@A330Driver OK, I'll look, Currently I am having a very annoying problem with the autobrake. It is set for RTO, the disarm light is extinguished, but when I go to bring up the throttles, the plane won't move, the brakes are locked up and the parking brake is OFF. Sometimes in RTO, right before takeoff, the disarm light will NOT extinguish. The only way to get the plane to move is cycle the RTO switch to OFF or cycle it, however this should not have to be this way. Something is wrong. Also in PMDG SETUP FAILURES, random failures keep coming up in RED. I want them to go away permanently, and they keep coming back.🥵

      @@A330Driver I fixed the RTO problem by re-assigning my brakes to "BRAKES". I think I had them assigned to a wrong spot, anyway it fixed the RTO problem. Any thoughts on completely turning off FAILURES, appreciated.

    Are you shore the value for disangage auto breake is not 750 PSI? Page 24 Maintenance manualer?

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Год назад

      Let's put it that way: In real life: Yes.
      It typically disengage at different pressures. Now, that may not preclude some manuals saying different things, it's a Boeing after all 😂

    • @ImperrfectStranger
      @ImperrfectStranger Год назад

      I was thinking the same thing. The manual clearly shows a >750psi pressure switch linked to the normal brake metering valve. Irrespective of the position of the autobrake shuttle valve, pilot input pressure is still going to the switch will disengage the system. i.e. a fixed pedal input is going to produce a disconnect (electrically).
      However, I don't know what this 750psi equates to in terms of A/B levels. If it equates to medium levels and the A/B system is at position 1, you're going to be overriding the autobrake shuttle valve physically before the 750psi is reached (but not overriding the A/B system electronically... i.e disengaging it).

    • @ImperrfectStranger
      @ImperrfectStranger Год назад

      Another thought. If RTO has been triggered, do the pedals really need the equivalent of RTO braking to override the autobrakes?

    hello, great video thank you very much, in the FMC I put the TOD pause .... when the PMDG gets there impossible to unlock it (which key on the keyboard?) to end my flight (everything is active even MSFS only the plane remains stuck at TOD? impossible to find the solution (on FSX it was "P" but nothing on MSFS).thank you for your help heeeelllppp me

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Год назад

      As far as I remember the settings for entering and leaving a pause are different from one another. One key gets you into a pause, another gets you out of it. Are you therefore sure you're pressing the correct key?

      @@A330Driver Thank you for your answer. but in the FMC of the PMDG we activate the pause of the TOD. but cannot find the solution once it is activated in flight to deactivate it and finish the flight. here is my problem.

    Hello , i have a small question about the whole autobrakes logic , yeah i know that MSFS ground friction model is really bad , but is it real that autobrakes are really weak ? so it seems to be inefficient on lower settings 1-2 ? Let's assume the same model -> 737-800 , loaded 184 pax , some cargo , 3-4 tonnes of fuel .. 143kts approach speed - pretty normal flight ..so in P3D i was able to vacate the same runway really fast on low settings like 1 or 2 depends on ATC and traffic behind .. but now in MSFS i have to apply 3 or even Max settings to actually do something 😊it's weird ..and my friend told me , that it should be real thing , but he is not real life 737 pilot . The reverse thrust also seems a little bit weaker , maybe the whole experience in FSX/P3D is putting me into some kind of false expectations about it , dont know 🤷‍♂ So thanks for answers :)

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  Год назад +2

      The decelleration rates seem correct to me. If they were that much faster in FSX then FSX was wrong.
      Some rough values for you to check for stopping distances. All with Flaps 30 and a 60t airplane:
      ABK MAX: 1300m
      ABK 3: 1800m
      ABK 2: 2200m
      ABK 1: 2700m
      MAX Manual: ~900m
      If the sim is anywhere close then it's most likely correct. Of course those assume that you put the plane right on the marker and don't float into eternity.

    • @GodfatherCZ1
      @GodfatherCZ1 Год назад

      @@A330Driver Thanks :) so FSX/P3D was wrong .. okay , then everything is OK . Will try to check those values on my next flight ..but yeah .. the 737NG is floaty bird :))) . In early FSX days i apllied Autobrakes 3 on Madeira or Samos only :) but now in MSFS era on every single flight to be able to vacate asap or , if there is long runway and low traffic autobrakes 1-2 and max reverse thrust is okay for me ..

      @@Sim737Pilot do you really think all console players are Arcady shit? Do you think all console players are just people who never played on PC?
      Well I am and I’ve always been a PC simmer and I even play X-Plane 11 Zibo, it’s just that I’m forced to play MSFS on console since my PC can’t handle it, so I bought a Series S just for that. PMDG said they’re gonna bring their products on console and not lite versions, so I expect that to be true. I just asked when it’s expected to come out on Xbox, since I can’t play it on PC and the Xbox is my only way to play this heavy-hard-bad optimized game for me
