Mate, this is the best case scenario for the rx780m where it has access to ultra fast ram. In a more realistic scenario, the gtx 1650 on desktops and laptops (same gpu and thus very similar perf) is capable of having ~20% lead over the 780m. Also, the rtx 2050 and 3050 laptops are close to the rx780m in price if not cheaper. Infact, often times its available with a much better GPU. So don't go buying a laptop with just an iGPU. They often suck.

May I know if it makes a difference to use a 4070 on a Ryzen 5 5600 or to use it in a Ryzen 7 8700g? I understand it should give a way off better overall graphics if you have the two combined. Is that right?

The fact that an APU is capable of being THIS playable in games is really amazing and shows how far we have come
That is true, but 8700G is just too expensive to really matter for now.
It really is impressive the 8700g is expensive the deal is the 8600g, as it has x8 pcie lanes if you want to add a gpu later on.

This 780M, It's equivalent to GTX 1050 ti 4Gb.
i imagine that laptop is gonna cost more than a new graphics card with twice the compute power
