  • Dash top removal: 30 to 60 minutes.
In this video I show how to remove the top dash section of a 1990 Volvo 245. I'm sure this process is about the same on all of the 240 series cars built after 1980 and maybe the ones before.

Well done Robert. I'm the original owner of a 1986 Volvo 240 DL (aka: BoBo) and the years with it have been great. Please keep up the good work on your videos. This was clear and well presented. It was easy to understand and better than average camera work. Your lighting was good too. Thanks!

Robert thank you so much for this video. I'm parting out a 93 240. And after watching this video it made the hole dash removal a breeze. Thanks once again.

Robert, I've been wondering how you wired a switch to the blower motor to stop it from the always on setting on the older 240's? Please keep up the 240 series videos!

+Jake I'm pretty basic, got a defroster type switch and just put it in line with the power wire. Probably should have taken the ground.

Never easy to strip away layers of the dashboard, there is allways a bucket of spagetti to navigate through.
And you resisted the temptation to say "Bye im off" half way thought, just to see his face ha ha :D

Thank you for the tutorial! When I was going to screw in the screws on the sides I had to press the dash in a little bit, is this normal?

Must have pinched a wire somewhere.

Hey what kind of heater control valve you have in your 240? It started leaking on me since its plastic and i have to get some air piping out of the way before i can get acces to the valve itself. Under the dash on the side wheres pedals.
