you are my savior
i spent 2 hours to find like this tutorial
thank you so much for sharing
I absolutely love your videos! You somehow manage to perfectly demonstrate Blender concepts in less than a minute while most others take ten times as long.
I appreciate the kind words
Works only in EEVEE render engine
So i couldnt bring this to unity or anything?
@@Omnivoid22don't think so , because unity has its own rendering engine
@@neer2415 so id have to make the toon shader in unity
@@Omnivoid22 yessir you would
@@Omnivoid22 the same can be said for Godot
This looks really useful even though I'm planning a 2D short film. I'm putting this on my favorites list, so then I might use it for background elements!!!!
Glad to hear it
What is your 2D short film about?
best tutorial i've ever followed imo
i'm not kidding this was actually easy
edit: used this in my most recent video
God I'm in love with the lack of fluff here. Thank you so much.
i understood everthyng until 0:09
Before adding sunlight, he went to the materials tab (in the bottom right, the red-ish circle thing), and selected the material of the object.
And then he went to 'shading' (at the top, there's a bar where layout, modeling, sculpting, shading etc. Is located.)
I think if you only have one material, you can just go straight to 'shading'
@@hyperzero3139 I just might be in a version of blender that's drastically renamed everything after the relese of this video, but can anyone please help me? The "color ramp" I search for it and cannot find it by that name. Has its name changed?
Maybe there's a step missing, but adding the solidify modifier does not create the black outline. It's just a regular solidify. I have no idea how you're able to apply the black material to the modifier.
Edit: it's under materials in the solidify modifier. Select material offset to 1.
I aspire to be this creative. Well done.
lol at the speed, I basicaly had to go frame y frame to follow it, thank for the video btw, genuenly
you're THE goat at blender
this helpd thanks :)
I think I'll use this. Thanks!
THANK you!
I like this one! Looks cool :)
Thank you so much! ^^
You’re welcome
Great Vid! Helped me out a lot because whenever I looked up how to make a black outline it didn't work on my model because its shape was to weird. But this vid helped!
i think if you left shadow color black on color ramp it also would be cool
Oh my god finally, a short and simple tutorial on how to do this. Thank you for this.
It looks like they removed the shader to rgb node in Blender 4.0.2 There is a new toon shader node but it only work in cycles :(
im using 3,6 would u recommend upgrading to 4.0?? be honest bro.
Absolutely amazing :)
The solidifier modifier acts very strangely with more complex objects (namely, im trying to add it to hair) any fix?
Great tutorial, thanks!
nice! now i can make something for my 3d animation 10 sec cartoon scene :D
how would you add a texture to said object if you have this on?
Might use this
Hey, thanks for the help! I should point out though that sometimes there's this pixelated, blurry shadow that can pop up if it occurs normally from other objects. Any ideas on how to fix that?
Love you!!!
Amazing tutorial. It seems that blender 4.2 has q toon bsdf node now.
Now, how to render it like you? It looks so weird at my model with default render settings.
I can't see how/where the second material is applied?
what recording software do you use? How do you get the keylogger onscreen?
OBS + Screen Cast Keys (Blender Addon)
Thanks!)
Amazing Dude
what if u already have textures u want to use
Help! when i add solidiy modifier even though i flip normals my model still bulges with the modifier- in the video you instead get a black outline. I am on v3.5.1 any ideas?
What if i wanted to animate a rigged model with this shader will it break the outline modifier?
Note: This video is a bit outdated and too fast. See their newer video called "Regular Shader to Toon Shader in Blender!" for a better way to add the outline
If i export the model to a game engine, like Godot, would the toon aspect continue?
I can’t find Shader to RGB, there’s no such node, I can’t even find the addon. Blender 4.0.2
Hi! I found it under Converter
Can you please make one on light set up
Will look into it!
shader to RGB no longer exists.
Well, It does for me.
nice
How to mix it with UV?
my screen resolution is at 1920 and i still can't see what's going on in your screen
BROO, Thanks
When I do the outline, it ends up removing the color of the object. How do I fix this?
But could someone please tell me how to make a toon style glass?
hi it does not work for me... the material simply will render black... but toon bsdf works
It needs to be in Eevee
Dude, the whole point is about the node part, please just make it just a little bit bigger so I can see what's going on, thanks! 😅
My colors in the render are less saturated than in the viewport. How to fix?
In 3.4.1 you go to Color management and then you go to Display Device and you switch mode standard i think filmic is what desature color if i read correctly somewhere else. You probably know by now but if not i hope it help for the future.
how do you delete principal
:
I cant add nodes to the light, can you help please
is there way to bake that into a texture i want to add to something else but the progma i want to add it into just spawns the thing with 1 texture and none of the shaders
WOuld have been more helpful if the youtube overlays at the end of your video didint block critical instructions... :(
how mappa shortcut production of AOT
0:47 I can't find it
Bruh me too
And now how to export it as FBX or GLB? I want to use in unity game
dose it work in unity
Does this export from blender to unreal engine?
All I have to do is cover the model in photo-realistic ink and paint.
Hey Im using this to make a pokeball but when I do the final outline part the colors kind of jump off the model itself when I tick the offset to 1 at the end. Got any idea what I can do?
same here !
@@pierrotlasticot5848 I ended up using a tool to do the outline automatically. Lemme find the name
How would i add a texture to my model
the color ramp and your texture both go into a multiply node and the multiply node goes to the material output surface
@@teodoradimova5989 thanks
This can be achievable in Blender 2.78?
I’m not sure, but I recommend updating
When i do the outline part it doesn't work. :/ Do you know how ? in the comment i'v seen that must work just on EEVEE but i think i already are in EEVEE render /O\
i dont have the shader to rgb node pls help me
You're most likely using the Cycles rendering engine, switching it to EEVEE will most likely solve your problem.
im trying to fix my issue to but i do have an answer for this one. press shift + a and try to search it up
the last step is covered by your logo 😭
Hello I can find " Shader to RGB" Nodes in Blender 4.0 can you anyone help me?
Switch to EEVEE and it will be there.
That's not actually work becauce some objects with this material can be shade smoothed
you have to be a straight up coder to use blender. nothing less
Depend what you use it for i barely use code but i mainly do concept art.If you use script it surely help otherwise it just navigating and understanding what plug into what and what each node does. The main issue is trying to follow outdated video and expecting thing to still work when some feature might have been remove.
You're going too fast and skipping how you do certain things.
thank you!
Thank you🎉
