Limbo is like purgatory! It’s the absolute worst time emotionally. You have no idea where your going. Your hoping ppl see what you are seeing things that concern you but also feel guilty for hoping that at the same time. I knew way before any medical professional saw him so the diagnosis was a huge relief for me it was like ok ready set go! And I think I started to just relax and live again. It’s my new normal and I love this journey with my son. Some moments or days are hard but I wouldn’t change him for the world. However I would change the world for him.
This is great, I can say it does get so much better, I'm 4 1/2 yrs into our journey, he is 7 and was diagnosed when he was 3, he is thriving and makes me so proud, I have so much hope for his future.
I very much appreciate your encouragement and positive outlook. Every parent of a child with neuro-differences (and really ANY parent would benefit!!) should watch your videos! Thank you for making them!
Great video Faye!!! This is definitely what alot of parents are wanting help with and it's the most difficult stage to cope with. Thank you! And yes your FB page is amazing. Lots of parents in the same situation and great supporting each other.
Hugs🤗 thank you for the wonderful video. You've given me so much to think about. We are seeing a child psychologist now and he suggests to write everything down also. It's a parenting class on how to deal with behavior related to autisim. So far it's going ok, we just want all of the therapies to start.
My son is almost 17 months and we are getting him assessed next week. Your videos are SO helpful. I’m going through and have been feeling everything you have talked about. Luckily, I’ve processed it now mostly and have calmed down lol. I just got hit with the guilt and mama bear syndrome. Thank you so much for your advice and keep it coming! I just joined a fb moms group and they are so accepting and has really helped me.
Thanks for this. My 16 month old son has just been referred for assessment....it’s a loooooong wait! These are some great suggestions to keep me going in the meantime 👍
My son was diagnosed at 19 months. We started his assessments at 18months because we saw signs and we couldn't ignore them. It was tough to make the first step. He is now receiving ABA, Speech and infant development therapy and in just 2 months we have seen such a huge improvement in him.
I Love The Colour Pink you have no right to tell her what’s best for her son so mind your own business... sunny sweets you do what you have to do for your son and don’t let anyone deter you.
Susie’s Desserts My son is 19months and showing signs of autism. I want him to be assessed. I just wanted to know the progress of your kid if you don’t mind sharing it. It will give me som hope.
Your video spot on. I really like number 8 tip I do this loads with my child who is 3 he got twin sister both have global development delay but my son Matt shown signs early on and from 15 months change from being a great eater to fussy. But there was signs before that if I think back but I question did I miss it ? I probably saw signs but in selfish way didn’t want it for him well us. See thing is I have worked with some amazing kids but it odd we never think anything will happen to us but truth is that we are all different and my son see things in different way. I accepted it very soon I mean I do video on it in my channel but it was husband who found it hard. Matt is still non verbal he can say mummy and daddy. We got more and again words. We been doing a lot of intense interaction like I said my background in autism been 24 years but I am still and will forever be learning new cool things about autism. We not been diagnose yet but the assessment is in October. Your tips are brilliant I will be subscribing and joining your Facebook group. It nice for me as my son is 3 and it all new. Keep up good work Michelle
Im worried about sending my child to nusery when we get free hours. Is it best to send them or not. Will he be stressed or is it best for me to stay at home instead. We go to classes all the time and get out. We dont have support so never really left him alone.
A nursery could be quite supportive to you both. It really depends on the nursery and how flexible they can be. I suggest you contact them to find out what they can offer. Some can cater for the child to come along with their parent maybe for an hour a day a few times a week. If everyone is happy, the parent can gradually transition to leaving the child. They don’t have to stay all day or even half a day - maybe an hour would be enough especially at the start. It could be good for your child to have new experiences as long as they don’t get overtired and it’s not too overwhelming. It could also be good for you to get some breathing space. Good luck whatever you decide.
My cuzn 4 year old suddenly stop speaking and I feel many such sign as you discuss but after one year of treatment no change is seen what should we do?
have you tried CBD oil ? We are wantting to try anything which could work, by the way, your videos calms us down big time, we just been through a tough time, thank you.
I've a child I suspect to be on the autism spectrum. Similar to Dexter Becky then, now at close to 20 months she's not responding to her name and hand leading is her main gesture. The one question on my mind is that what severity level of ASD are these children usually at? I'm hoping she's just mildly autistic but I read mild autism are usually reserved for those aspies, and aspies usually reach their milestones before age of 2. Now I'm afraid my child may be in the moderate to severe level. Any form of information will be appreciated.
John Fens My son is 21 months old. I talked to a specialist and she said we have to wait because we don't have dominant symptoms now. Our concern is he is not interested in people and talking at all, he spins every object, he does that all day. He often does hand flapping. I feel like he learns differently and slowly. We will wait and and see. Meanwhile we try to teach him new words by playing with him.
@@peterrugg9264 hi , reading this just sounds exactly like my son who is the same age! Today we had our 1st appointment with the pediatrician after being referred at his 18 month check
