I volunteer at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens and our zoo has 35 species of Bamboo. They require removal and I take home 20-30 foot sections and cut to length for my veggie garden. Free of charge. They are great as plant stakes, trellis supports and fence posts to keep my dogs from getting into trouble.
That is awesome! I absolute LOVE when things like that happen. Well...if you are ever in So. Cal and have some Bamboo with you..... Welcome to my channel Mike, GREAT to have you along and thank you. CK
A frame and the chicken wire also for fennel Frost date April 20 and my fennel's getting ready to out. - excellent tip just in time Fantastic ideas as always! Thank You Kim!
I agree with SantaanaWildman. I do prefer the natural material because some vines, like clematis prefer to grow on natural wood rather than cattle panel or metal materials. I am LOVING this video! ❤️🥰👍🧡Liz in California
I like the rustic look of the tree branch trellises. I used the ladder mesh from the masonry dept! Also the cattle panel supported by 2 metal fence posts + zip ties (foam pool noodles from $1 halved and placed on ends to prevent getting scratched)
I agree with you about using natural branches. Some vines like clematis prefer to grow on natural wood instead of metal or other materials, people use for trellises. So you have an excellent point, and reason for preferring this material. Liz
Me, too. Not much has been happening for a garden Tour..it has been a while! Awww, the Morning Garden Walks.....I need to pepper one of those in line up - THANK YOU for being with me for so long!!!! Made my day. CaliKim
@@CaliKim29 I don't. I tried growing them once but I think I had the wrong timing. They grew into a small plant and died. I started them late spring. I live in Nor Cal. I may need to start a late fall planting to be successful.
You always have such clever ideas in the garden. I have learned so much from you over the years, so thank you again for another wonderful video.❤️👍🥰Liz in California
Thank you, I am grateful for them, they are pretty to the landscape and good to eat, on pizzas, in beverages, too... Have you ever done that with nasturtiums? K
The natural weathered look of the wood combined with the hemp rope is what brings your garden all together, I'm inspired. Even the metal trellis attachments are well thought out, I'll try that ladder mesh. It all looks great and makes me wonder what flowers are in the hopper. Cali-Kim/CameraGuy great video, great garden.
Imma build 4 of the #5s with wire...8 feet long. Thanks! I think it'd be easy to drape some plastic over the A-frame to make semi-greenhouse-style growing beds for colder weather.
I purchased some ladder mesh from Lowes today to use in one of my raised beds to support some cucumbers. I'm not sure how sturdy it will be in my garden. I'm in zone 8b Georgia, and the lake winds are horrible this time of year. I just had my greenhosue demolished by some strong lake affect wimds yesterday, so I'm not sure how the trelis will hold up on the next round of winds. Fingers crossed. 🤞
Comment of the Day, right here!! You are welcome and thank you for the very nice words! I've always tried to be intentional about this - Best, CaliKim Please tell me that you are subscriber...I appreciate your positivy!

Good Afternoon from Tucson.. I have a question and totally off your video subject...I have tiny mushrooms sprouting up in my corn sprouts containers???? Is that good or bad.?? 🤔🌽⚘️
It might suggest that your soil or growing medium is rich in organic matter, which is beneficial for plant growth. Fungi like mushrooms often thrive in nutrient-rich environments. Beneficial Fungi: Some types of mushrooms are beneficial for plant growth. Harmful Fungi: On the other hand, certain mushrooms could be harmful to your corn sprouts. Air Circulation: Proper air circulation around your corn sprouts can help prevent the buildup of moisture and discourage mushroom growth. Identification: If possible, try to identify the type of mushrooms growing in your containers. This can help determine whether they're beneficial or harmful. Removal: If you're concerned about the mushrooms, you can carefully remove them from the soil. Be sure to wear gloves, as some mushrooms can be toxic or irritating to the skin. Hope this helps!!! Keep us posted! CK
I do believe that unless you put some guy stays on that 3 pole trellis it will be in jeopardy of blowing over with the first gust of wind just like my tomato trellis did.
OMGosh...BRILLIANT! Never even thought of that? I'm embarrassed to ask, but here it goes....is there a specific color...or do you mean you try to match the color to the wood it's on? Thank you, Maria!!! CK
Which of these no cost/low cost trellis are you going to build? Thanks for gardening with us! -CaliKim & CameraGuy
The A-frame trellis is best for me; thanks.

That's awesome. It's a great idea and you're reusing the bamboo instead of them ending up in a landfill or compost bin.
My area has bamboo-like plants growing in the woods. So I’m going grab the dead ones (which are very study) and use them as stakes :)

@santaanaroadwildman3614 could you share what store you found the ladder mesh? I’ve looked everywhere no luck 😭😭
