I like how they changed up the formula by having the terminator and resistance fighter being sent back to a country where easy access to guns was basically nonexistent. So they both have to improvise weapons and come up with new tactics as opposed to the same old formula of the Terminator and resistance fighter getting a gun and other weapons immediately because they’re in America. So Tomlin asked Director Kudo and the Production IG staff how their killer robot would go about doing its task: cue the ideas for improvised weaponry, for swords, for crossbows… I think they did quite well, all things considered, and referencing the then-recent Tokyo subway sarin attack by Aum Shinrikyo was a good nod to history.

Great reference to Terminator 1-2 (police station scene and T-1000 police uniform) and it doesn't look like cheap fan service, but rather like a well-staged and tense scene in the spirit of the Terminator movies.
I find this more horrifying than the police station massacre in the first movie. Because of Japan's extremely strict gun control laws, the cops here only have Nambu .38 revolvers instead of heavier weapons, like M16s, so they're even MORE outmatched than the American cops were.
The concept is good but it has a lot of issues. Men die by the dozens instantly but the lesbian mc has the magical ability to turn mister T slow weak and dumb. Worth to watch as a what if terminator was written by a bad author who can't be consistent and has to check boxes.

I loved this scene. To me, it was such a tight distillation of how the creative team behind this project would approach the Terminator versus the classic movie with more emphasis on it as an infiltrator. In the OG movie, he drives through in the car. In this, he's a bit more subtle. He walks in in the uniform, silently kills the guy in the armory, and then gets the drop on the rest of them. Even the music is kinda similar
The Terminator killing the cop that was hugging its legs reminded me of how Megatron killed Ironhide in the 1986 Transformers movie. “Such heroic nonsense!”

But why build a minaturised crossbow into your arm when you could literally create any weapon at all from millennia of conflict based on Skynet's data files? It's a certainty it could build a bullet-firing silenced weapon out of spare parts and elastic bands if it had to. Other than that, love the callbacks to the original Terminator movie as one Terminator slaughters everyone in the police station while being repeatedly shot. Not so sure about the callback to Regenysis with the two-handed police handgun attack, but why not. Talk about tough, though-that cop kept fighting with a crossbow bolt in the shoulder, a chest full of shattered bones...
It’s easy to hide and it would draw a lot more attention from law enforcement if the terminator broke into multiple stores and warehouses to make a weapon. Plus I’d imagine it would be harder to upgrade any other type of weapon into it’s arm without ruining its human skin. Also the crossbow is cooler.
Because as the t800 mentions, he was sent to the past by kenta to destroy kokoro and kill Malcolm. He comes from a future where kokoro has become even worse than skynet and skynet has allied with humans to take down kokoro. That's why kenta sent it.
Weird robotic eye movement. It's like its eye moves all around its socket loosely. That's not how eyes or even the Terminator eye works. It's supposed to rotate not move around the socket.
Probably cause the timeline's been shifted way too much and the fact the scientist had his own mission and chose to conduct it in Japan while John's all the way in America. Though the actual events of Judgement day was postponed to the 2000s in T3, so that makes me wonder if John and Sarah are still surviving somewhere because this series was set at around the 19 somethings not yet the 2000s.

Japanese cops did not stand a chance in hell against a t-800. the VERY BEST the NPA has are MP5's only given to SAT guys and shotguns. the LAPD had 44 magnums, shotguns, and M-16's and still got absolutely steamrolled. @@idkidk503...Look into the creation, this anime was developed by Mattison Tomlin of Netflix who originally wrote the scripts in English, they were translated to Japanese for the animation and then changed back into English and rewritten to better fit the lip flaps.
So this version of the Terminator is slow and weak
