I was kind of hoping it would turn out to be a situation like: "She will lead me to the other survivors" where it was missing on purpose, but oh well. Actually, there was a villain in a webcomic called Archipelago who was acting like a classic Sunday cartoon villain for like 90% of the story, always pursuing the protagonists but failing to capture them. It seemed like he was just spectacularly inept, or that they had a ridiculous amount of plot armor, but for some reason the dark spirit he was serving never got on his case about it. Never even hinted at replacing him. Then he encountered a group of guards who were not connected to the protagonists, and absolutely SLAUGHTERED them effortlessly. It was then that it became clear that the protagonists didn't have plot armor: he was LETTING them escape each time, harassing them just enough that they would feel that they urgently needed to gather all of the McGuffins that he needed to complete his evil plot before he could get to them. He had realized that they were better at gathering them than he was, so he was just following them from a distance, waiting to swoop in and take them all at the last minute. He genuinely would have succeeded if he hadn't realized that the spirit he was serving was a threat to his daughter and arranged for his own nephew to kill him so that its plans would be foiled. I guess this made me think of that story because the antagonist in Archipelago was a cyborg who couldn't be killed or stopped, only slowed down. The spirit just kept resurrecting him whenever he died, coming back with more and more machine parts. 😆
Also, giving things more time flushes out more victims and heros. So, it kinda makes sense to prolong things. AI cares more about winning The War than battles. It always shows it's not desperate, and maybe that's more important than the ways humanistic tactics.
Well it sorta makes sense, we know that they had hardened armour, we know that one took out a cop station and got riddled with bullets, it still went on and killed reese, almost taking out Sarah. We know that even just the T800 can take a shocking amount of damage before being taken down. Normal bullets barely harm them, even grenade launchers just burn the flesh off. So yeah, I firmly beleive that.
No way a normal human is gonna hold on to a rope with a 600 lb metal human holding on to her. Looks great though, I can over look that by the fact the terminators look like they can for real terminate.
Pulling yourself up like she does with that thin of a rope will be next to impossible to. I can look past it but I’m hoping she’s augmented somehow like Marcus Wright

I watched the show and it is not only time terminator competence drops because plot say so. -Shots rubble she is standing one so she will fall instead of shooting her directly. -See her as enough of annoying to fight her but after stabbing her in the leg can't take 5 seconds of stab her in the neck as well and leaves her. -She gets in the grappling match with terminator and it punch her like 4 times, she is ok. -And that's after we were shown the same terminator crushing heads of 2 guys like it were tomatoes. This completely kills its threat credibility no matter how many extras it kills. Overall show was not very exciting for me and handling of misteris felt more confusing than interesting or satisfying for me.

After watching it I gotta say - it's not a Terminator movie. It's more of a "heavy philosophy flick with sci-fi elements that kinda coincide with the Terminator". If you think of it as a basic sci-fi movie you will have a better time. 6/10

I'm 5 episodes in and theres something I've noticed about the characters. They all dealing with trauma of some kind or another and they find time to deal with it while being chased by a terminator thats killing everything.
There was an "easter egg" with it of sorts, the Terminator enters a room and satrts shooting, and the shots are to the same beat as that, BangBang, Bang, BangBang, 1st ep I think it was.
What i dont understand is how in the fuck didnt the terminator just crush her legs,snapped her neck when it had her by the throat and able to miss the shots like a storm trooper. I've watched the entire show tonight and every episode is full of annoying details like these. Coudn't stand it at all. And not to mention the way it completly destroys the original canon storyline (like Genysis or Dark Fate). So there goes another Terminator project i'll pretend that doesn't exist. T-1, T-2 and the videogame Terminator Resistance, that's it, those are the only real ones.
Reposting this here since I initially posted it to a lesser known channel: I just watched it in its entirety and honestly don't understand how anybody could call this amazing, let alone a 'masterpiece': - Copious amounts of plot armor, to the point of being ridiculous. A highly advanced killing machine from the future, using a minigun at close range, missing basically every shot of not one but two full drum mags? Sure, why not.The Terminator sparing a disarmed, easily disposable threat? Sensical. Terminators, in this series, also can't be bothered to run. They will simply continue to walk up to their target, so the target can continue to run away in response. Until they suddenly do run - which changes nothing since people just ... run faster. Also; the rope scene at 4:00. Like .. just watch it. - Mid-season I started to ask myself something along the lines of 'uh, then what the hell is this all for?!'. Zero's answer? 'somebody else, somewhere else, sorta'. - Anime tropes. Thoughtful hums, confused huhs. Adults acting like children, children acting like adults. - Shitty, low-framerate CGI mixed with mediocre, cheaply produced animation. Berserk levels of bad this is not, but certainly up there with BLAME! or Godzilla: Planet of Monsters. - I didn't care about a single character except maybe Misaki. Everyone is bland. That includes her, but she at least has a somewhat interesting backstory - something that cannot be said for the rest of the cast. - Inconsequential plot-twists and/or revelations, which feel like they are really only there for their own sake. I didn't hate it. But boy do I feel cheated. This is your typical Netflix low-effort cash grab, to be watched once and immediately forgotten. It be called Terminator but, at best, it's the corpse of the franchise, drawn up on strings and made to dance for a couple hours.
I liked it, the best non-comic Terminator story since T3 or SCC and better than those. The longer the show goes the better it gets. Now make S2-5 or whatever the proposed number was. 7.9/10
There’s not enough tension in the scene because the damn protagonist and almost every release that I’ve seen is narrowly dodging bullets all the time. That doesn’t make them cool. It just makes the terminator look more incompetent for the sake of bad writing.

I'm a huge Terminator fan and just finished watching the whole thing. It had some flaws but I enjoyed most of it! I'm hoping Netflix doesn't condemn it to it's own Judgment Day and greenlights a season 2!
I spent this morning watching most of the series before having to go to work. Got one episode left. No spoilers, but this easily blows all of the post-T2 films out of the water.
Finally, Terminator is returning to its original genre as a horror story. No time machines, no True Ex Machina, no prophecy child, just people trying their best to survive the calculating wall of steel that is Skynet

In honestly by no means I was feeling like bashing my head but because of super thick plot armor(what you see here is nothing) I didn't feel nervous/ worried about characters. I was watching because of mysteries wondering about answers but when we were given them I was not impressed. Overall I felt nothing watching it. If this series will not be continued I will not care. Admirably series had some interesting ideas (for small example terminator build and integrated into his arm automatic crossbow or acknowledgement that people going to the past will never see their family and friends, other are bigger) but I didn't felt that they were executed in satisfying way. In my opinion there are stupidity in the script which saps lots of enjoyment for me. If you are bored and don't have anything better to do you can give it a chance.

At first, the girl manages to dodge minigun machine gun shots, fired by a state-of-the-art machine. then kicks the exterminator in the face and manages to "injure" him. then she manages to hang with a one-ton machine holding her down. In another episode, the exterminator hides the little girl and lets her pass under his legs, simply pathetic. You can't take this seriously.

Assumes high likelihood that new target is hiding in locker, due to data gained 20 seconds prior. Sprays average human, center mass, and head height, through door. Target still not found. Target hits terminator. Terminator...... for some reason.... stands still..... and SLOWLY turns... and just stands there, giving target time to utilize floor nade. Walks after target. IDs target in long, unobstructed hallway. Does not engage... Instead walks slowly toward target. Target gets 6 free rounds off at terminator.... Target retreats... Only then does terminator engage target, by spraying accurately at center mass.............. JK... It aims at the floor behind the target.... Why is it now deciding to do this... it goes from mechanical, hyper accurate, center mass, sprays.... to aiming at the ground.... WUT!? Lets not mention this lady hanging from a metal cable being able to support the weight of what seems to be a T800. Hey google... how much does a T800 weigh? It took me a little time to Understand where the begining was unfolding, They were probably a resistance unit inside a Skynet research center Like in Terminator Salvation.

I watched the show and it is not only time terminator competence drops because plot say so.
-Shots rubble she is standing one so she will fall instead of shooting her directly.
-See her as enough of annoying to fight her but after stabbing her in the leg can't take 5 seconds of stab her in the neck as well and leaves her.
-She gets in the grappling match with terminator and it punch her like 4 times, she is ok.
-And that's after we were shown the same terminator crushing heads of 2 guys like it were tomatoes.
This completely kills its threat credibility no matter how many extras it kills.
Overall show was not very exciting for me and handling of misteris felt more confusing than interesting or satisfying for me.

After watching it I gotta say - it's not a Terminator movie. It's more of a "heavy philosophy flick with sci-fi elements that kinda coincide with the Terminator". If you think of it as a basic sci-fi movie you will have a better time.

Thats how the Terminators supposed to be. Thats extremely accurate as Terminators are supposed to be flawed as Skynet fears their army becoming self aware.
I'm 5 episodes in and theres something I've noticed about the characters. They all dealing with trauma of some kind or another and they find time to deal with it while being chased by a terminator thats killing everything.
I just hope they'll also bring the good old "Du-Dun, Dun, du-dun" theme back for this too.
There was an "easter egg" with it of sorts, the Terminator enters a room and satrts shooting, and the shots are to the same beat as that, BangBang, Bang, BangBang, 1st ep I think it was.
It does do the sound when one of the terminators goes back in time!
What i dont understand is how in the fuck didnt the terminator just crush her legs,snapped her neck when it had her by the throat and able to miss the shots like a storm trooper. Let alone her able to hold his weight like if he were a cat on her leg 😳🤦 this reeks of no logical explanation, obviously plot armor over 💯

I love Terminator. But honestly. Why do everyone in every Terminator movie since T2 shooting on this thing with weapons which can NOT damage it???? And why can a modern high tech killing mashine not give his target a headshot with one bullet 200 metres away when tanks from the 70s can do that about 2000 metres?

I've watched the entire show tonight and every episode is full of annoying details like these. Coudn't stand it at all. And not to mention the way it completly destroys the original canon storyline (like Genysis or Dark Fate). So there goes another Terminator project i'll pretend that doesn't exist. T-1, T-2 and the videogame Terminator Resistance, that's it, those are the only real ones.

I just watched it in its entirety and honestly don't understand how anybody could call this amazing, let alone a 'masterpiece':
- Copious amounts of plot armor, to the point of being ridiculous. A highly advanced killing machine from the future, using a minigun at close range, missing basically every shot of not one but two full drum mags? Sure, why not.The Terminator sparing a disarmed, easily disposable threat? Sensical. Terminators, in this series, also can't be bothered to run. They will simply continue to walk up to their target, so the target can continue to run away in response. Until they suddenly do run - which changes nothing since people just ... run faster. Also; the rope scene at 4:00. Like .. just watch it.
- Mid-season I started to ask myself something along the lines of 'uh, then what the hell is this all for?!'. Zero's answer? 'somebody else, somewhere else, sorta'.
- Anime tropes. Thoughtful hums, confused huhs. Adults acting like children, children acting like adults.
- Shitty, low-framerate CGI mixed with mediocre, cheaply produced animation. Berserk levels of bad this is not, but certainly up there with BLAME! or Godzilla: Planet of Monsters.
- I didn't care about a single character except maybe Misaki. Everyone is bland. That includes her, but she at least has a somewhat interesting backstory - something that cannot be said for the rest of the cast.
- Inconsequential plot-twists and/or revelations, which feel like they are really only there for their own sake.
I didn't hate it. But boy do I feel cheated. This is your typical Netflix low-effort cash grab, to be watched once and immediately forgotten. It be called Terminator but, at best, it's the corpse of the franchise, drawn up on strings and made to dance for a couple hours.
I liked it, the best non-comic Terminator story since T3 or SCC and better than those. The longer the show goes the better it gets. Now make S2-5 or whatever the proposed number was. 7.9/10
There’s not enough tension in the scene because the damn protagonist and almost every release that I’ve seen is narrowly dodging bullets all the time. That doesn’t make them cool. It just makes the terminator look more incompetent for the sake of bad writing.
Yeah, it would be better if she keeps hiding all the time.

@@flavioalbatrozz2557 your comment is absolutely stupid. Not dodging bullets doesn't imply hiding all the time. You can take cover and attack at the right time, or do sneak attacks, but not this. Fighting a damn bulletproof machine in such unrealistic way just breaks immersion.
The synth style ost is so cool. Really gives of the original terminator vibes
it's not exactly ufotable level of compositing in terms of the CGI mixing with the Animation but this looks pretty solid

I'm a huge Terminator fan and just finished watching the whole thing. It had some flaws but I enjoyed most of it! I'm hoping Netflix doesn't condemn it to it's own Judgment Day and greenlights a season 2!

I spent this morning watching most of the series before having to go to work. Got one episode left. No spoilers, but this easily blows all of the post-T2 films out of the water.
This is easily the best thing the Terminator franchise has put out since T2. Really hope we get a season two.

I prefer this bulky and slow Terminator more than the more futuristic ones. The one on T2 is an exception because its charming and very creative.

In honestly by no means I was feeling like bashing my head but because of super thick plot armor(what you see here is nothing) I didn't feel nervous/ worried about characters. I was watching because of mysteries wondering about answers but when we were given them I was not impressed. Overall I felt nothing watching it.
If this series will not be continued I will not care. Admirably series had some interesting ideas (for small example terminator build and integrated into his arm automatic crossbow or acknowledgement that people going to the past will never see their family and friends, other are bigger) but I didn't felt that they were executed in satisfying way. In my opinion there are stupidity in the script which saps lots of enjoyment for me.
If you are bored and don't have anything better to do you can give it a chance.

At first, the girl manages to dodge minigun machine gun shots, fired by a state-of-the-art machine. then kicks the exterminator in the face and manages to "injure" him. then she manages to hang with a one-ton machine holding her down.
In another episode, the exterminator hides the little girl and lets her pass under his legs, simply pathetic. You can't take this seriously.
If Netflix had done marketing like this for other Animes. They just kill of potensial animes for not doing any marketing. Because Terminator a western franchise they are marketing it like crazy
I wondered is that Terminator's face is based on Lance Henriksen? Because James Camerson originally idea was to cast Henriksen to play the Terminator, but JC changed his mind, wanting to cast a big man to play the role.
Making an anime out of Terminator is one thing, but Terminator 1 and 2 were set in LA in the USA and that's where Judgement Day took place. So why is the series suddenly set in Japan?
Watched the show this scene has the most plot armour the fights get more real as the show progresses. Also its the characters and story that really pull u in fights are supplemental

Guy shows nade, terminator detects threat, insta center mass spray. During spray detects something behind it, swings around while spraying at chest height to ensure maximum probability of hitting a human sized target.
Terminator does not ID new target it detected. Assumes high likelihood that new target is hiding in locker, due to data gained 20 seconds prior. Sprays average human, center mass, and head height, through door. Target still not found.
Target hits terminator. Terminator...... for some reason.... stands still..... and SLOWLY turns... and just stands there, giving target time to utilize floor nade.
Walks after target. IDs target in long, unobstructed hallway. Does not engage... Instead walks slowly toward target.
Target gets 6 free rounds off at terminator.... Target retreats...
Only then does terminator engage target, by spraying accurately at center mass.............. JK... It aims at the floor behind the target....
Why is it now deciding to do this... it goes from mechanical, hyper accurate, center mass, sprays.... to aiming at the ground.... WUT!?
Lets not mention this lady hanging from a metal cable being able to support the weight of what seems to be a T800.
