I thought this show was brilliant! From start to finish I was hooked. This NEEDS to be an ongoing series I thought it was very respectful to the lore and core of what terminator is. The very narrative especially in these times of AI, of getting a machine to learn what it is to be human and work together was not only well thought out, but comforting in some sense. Then masterfully giving us several plot twists and joining the dots together The dialogue was written beautifully, very convincing and real. The animation for the terminator was smooth as fuck, and gave an Erie presence and the action had me in the edge of my seat Overall 10/10 for me- keep it going, I want to find out what happens next. I honestly didn’t want it to end
I think the prophet is the original Terminator . They both have damaged over the left side of their face. And the original Terminator head has been found and could have been put on to a different body and skin, it would also have knowledge of the past present and potential future
malcolm's mother with a prosthetic in the future is the same age or slightly older than her doppelganger with a crushed arm stuck more than 25-35 years ago in the past, in a world where kokoro greatly prevented skynet from destroying the world by destroying the main stock of attacking nukes, so this most likely does not prove the loop, rather a high chance of damaging limbs while fighting machines, but anime creators can abuse logic in the next seasons in any way even if some semblance of loops is created, then most likely they are false, and have sliding small differences, which in 1000 repetitions with minimal changes will lead to a completely different reality
At the end of the anime, those flashes of light that we saw in the air was Skynet attempting to launch more nukes at people, and Kokoro intercepting them in space, making them blow up a nice safe distance away from the surface.
I’m pretty sure that The Prophet is Eiko but specifically the Eiko that gave birth to the scientist and if not she’s definitely an Eiko from somewhere, the scientist said nearly the same thing as The Prophet in his last moments
Time travel has ALWAYS been like this in the Terminator franchise, only the anime actually explains it while the terminators in the movies are vague on it. But if anyone were smart enough to know how time travel & its theory works, its exactly as its explained in the anime & you & everyone else would've known this walking into it too. But I'm glad they finally talk about it better here, since apparently, Japan has to do it for the franchise itself & not the movies. Its why every single movie is canon & actually happens in the franchise.
Genisys explored this and was going to touch on this in the sequels but sadly the Genisys trilogy got canned, and then stupid Dark Fate happened and it went woke with making Dani into John Connor, that movie had so many plot holes like how did Dani know about Carl, and the Legion future was bullshit compared to Skynet. I could go on and on about that movie.
@@bassplayer807Dark Fate is garbage, yes, but so is Genisys. The casting is terrible especially with Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, the plot just has random things happening for no good reason, and the fanservice stuff is over the top. It feels like a fanfiction that somehow got turned into a movie.

I hope we get a S2!
3:59 I actually think the Terminator is from the same 2nd timeline. It just when Kokoro was fighting against Skynet using humans as soldiers. Skynet did the same thing. The fight for survival was so great, Skynet was force to work with humans in order to stay alive. This is probably what broker a treaty and made Skynet make an agreement with humanity. If human destroyed Kokoro in the past, Skynet will allow humanity to live along side Skynet. Which is crazy. Kokoro was such a threat to Skynet, Skynet was willing to work with and make a pact with humans. Its enemy for countless timelines.
Both AI could be plotting though. Remember machines are modelled after humans so humans want dominance over other people. That means the AI will plot against humans and fight it out with each other later to be the ruler of the planet. The humans could have other AI projects worked on in secret with the help of other neural chip awakened Terminators though. In Terminator 2 kid John Conner turned this chip on so that Arnie model could learn to smile and be less of a di ck. LOL I am thinking many machines would side with humans since Skynet made sure all these neural-net chips were turned off just so they could be more obedient to skynet. They realised if the humans turned their neural-net chips on then they are less evil than skynet and thus side with humans for independence.
I like the way that it works with the free will. That's something i was thinking that the rebels could do, release every terminator out of the "read-only" settings skynet set them too. They also have AI, it's a shame that they deleted the scene in T2 where they remove the read only from uncle bob. After that he was not only able to learn more but even more willingly to carry out his task.
I'm guessing the Prophet is either someone related to Sarah or John Connor like John's wife Kate Connor from another timeline hence the reason why she knows about the Time Travel Paradox. If you think about it T3 ended with Skynet creating another Judgement day. Either she had a chance to time travel already or someone told her about the time travel paradox. I think they took a bit from Hulk's Baby Thanos quote/scene about going back in time in Avengers Engdame. Technically with that kind of set up they can easily tell countless stories related to the Terminator franchise shrugging it off as another timeline or universe (making both Sarah and John Connor both dead and alive in different timelines). Overall I enjoyed the anime, it had a somewhat satisfying ending where they can either leave it as is, continue it, or create another Terminator timeline but from a new character's perspective.
My biggest problem with this series aside from the plague to the Terminator franchise that has become their Time Travel ouroboros, was that in the opening scenes, the Terminator in the future just shoots at Aiko’s feet as she sprints down a single lane hallway and then up a flight of stairs that the Terminator can also see. Now I get the Terminators software isn’t always the best - Skynet is Skynet and they make workarounds or skip out on expensive to produce software for their machine infiltrators - but I refuse to believe a Terminator, regardless of model, would MISS at what’s essentially point blank range in a single lane hallway with a goddamn minigun that fires faster than Aiko’s toes can wiggle. Later episodes were fine to eh, but the heights they expect you to suspend your disbelief from in the very first episode is just utterly bonkers. As for the ending it was certainly an…interesting direction to take the setting in by giving Skynet not only another sentient intelligence to contend with, but also giving that intelligence the ability to empathise and understand humans, unlike Skynet who took a Pico second to analyse humanity and conclude we’re the problem and deserve extinction, rather than look at the good side of humanity and realise we’re not all bad and that co-existence is possible.
I thought that scene of her running from the minigun was also dumb. It's a trope from many action movies where the hero always has plot armor. Eg Storm Troopers losing to the Ewoks because they can't shoot straight. lol They way I would have done it is she has smoke bomb but the terminator has heat vision to see through the smoke, and as the terminator is shooting she has few resistance fighters there to hold it off but they die while she gets into position. This way you could beelive the terminator was distracted long enough to deal with the more immediate threats of human with guns trained at it. (the robots always prioritise high threats to take out first over low threats) Also the idea that she isn't just doing all the grunt work herself but the other fighters are helping her makes more sense to me. There must have been walkie talkies so she can comunicate with others at least.
Keep in mind that this whole timeline concept illustrated on this video is very similar to the Altered Timeline Branch concept used in the Dragonball franchise. Hardly surprising as everything about Future Trunks in the Dragonball franchise draws inspiration from the Terminator franchise.
The t800 model felt different, it referred to himself as me. Kinda felt like it had its own personality and being voiced by Timothy Olaphant sorry if misspelled just made it so much better. You might not be able to save that version of your loved one but another one could be out there. The prophet felt like an alt timeline version of Malcom’s mom
The only thing that makes me think it’s not, is that Misaki has existed for a long time and doesn’t seem to age at all from when she’s created to present 1997. So it seems strange that the prophet being very obviously old would also be Misaki
I disagree with your comment towards the end of the video. If Kokoro wanted to attack humanity with nukes, she would just let Skynet do it. She's hijacking the nukes and making them detonate against each other rather than allowing them to hit their mark. Those are the explosions we see in the background. She probably can't stop them from launching but she can take over a few while they're launched to counter. She wouldn't be doing that if it was her goal to weaken humanity.
The timelines appear to be crosslooped. They cross over and then loop, like a figure 8 as opposed to circle. Aiko goes back in time, gets her hand crushed, judgement day happens, she gives birth to Malcom. Malcom grows up, goes back in time, Creates Kokoro, meets his mom before dying. Repeat.
He doesn’t use AI. I’ve personally helped edit videos for many different larger channels (even his at some point from my 12+ years in the industry if I’m remembering correctly) long before the whole AI prevalence & the editing style is like most of the last 10~ish years. Don’t be so daft.
@@FigmentForever Then are you the one that made an AI looking mistake? Last I checked. Getting mixed up with T2 and T1 would've been an easy fix. Though it is a very common error AI videos do.
I don't quite get this one. The T-800 is from Eiko's contemporary time of 2022. Misaki was built in the 2040s, if we assume she is built from spare terminator parts why isn't she as strong or stronger (for example T850 888 or 900 parts)
I bet she was boiling over with Jealousy and contempt even though that’s the exact reason he was there in the first place. Example: you are in a garage band and while playing in some dive bar and a woman thinks you’re cute and it’s cool you are in a band and play instruments, …but later on Route 1: You are not that successful but it’s your passion so she wants you to quit. You do and months/years later you break up anyways. Route 2: you keep playing and get more and more popular and you become a superstar. But you are always touring or in the studio and she wants you to quit so you can spend time with her despite it’s the reason you have money and fame in the first place. You do and she leaves you for someone that is the person you used to be.
The Prophet is Eiko herself, she time traveling over and over to search the answer. That the point of termintator zero. Thats why we see in episode 7 malcolm and misaki again in the past. They created a new time line, beacause kokoro take memory the terminator from the future.
This is how I will see this having a season 2 to 3. Season 2 highlights Kokoro Fights Skynet. Season 3 Kokoro wins and get in complication with remaining humans. Ends with Kokoro going haywire. And being shut down.
Malcolm using these references doesn’t show that he spoke with the prophet, those are the same things eiko saw and heard, probably told her kid the same
I like the show just fine. But I can't help but wish we'd get a proper John Conner/ Kyle Reese centered show, fighting Skynet in the future. Animation would be the perfect medium for that kind of story. It's a shame writers and producers don't have the same sentiment.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles touched on some of the same things. AI and different timelines. We are just getting a cartoon version of that. This story........will be back
I'm honestly impressed by the series. The films always talks about Judgement Day on how it affects the world but through the perspective of LA. While in the anime, we see how Judgement Day affects another part of the world, primarily Japan along with the country's technological advances. Also, having the T-800 make a crossbow on his forearm makes sense because in Japan, firearms are prohibited to the public. Only the police, military and government officials/agencies have access to such weapons.
This adaptation of anime for the Terminator IP is the most faithful I've seen. The way they explained time travel and the lore is on par with the franchise. The twist, the soundtrack, the voice acting, and the animation are superb. A few nitpicks are that some events or behaviors of some characters don't make sense but only work to move the plot forward. Also, Eiko fighting a Terminator hand-to-hand and getting punched multiple times in the back and surviving... that's a little too much plot armor. Despite these flaws, I believe this is worth watching. 8/10.
so this 1997 Timeline is where Kokoro decided to spare the humanity from its extinction, and help to stop the skynet. So there's one thing for sure.... an all out war between Humans and Kokoro vs Skynet.
My ranking is 8/10. Normally with an ending like that (especially for a good portion of animes) I’d be egregious disappointed. But given this is set in the terminator universe, it makes sense in my opinion. Judgement Day is an inevitability. It can only be delayed but not entirely stopped. As long as curious human minds want to explore and tinker with AI, the danger of skynet will present itself again and again. Just under a different name. All humanity can do is resist and try to keep the key figures and as many people as they can alive. Kokoro will change the dynamic of the war now that she’s involved. It’s hard to say if she’ll help the Resistance. Hopefully a season 2 will be greenlit.
Oksy, so if every time something goes back in time causes a parallel universe instead of changing the timeline.... Then skynet never gets created in the main timeline because skynet was created using parts from the first Terminator that got sent in the past to kill sarah connors
Who says that is the first timeline, it’s confusing. I thought when watching the original movie that the terminator killed Kyle’s dad at the beginning, one of the three thugs. This would create some new stories but without the original John Connor, in these other timelines his father Kyle does not exist to be sent. John would still send someone to protect his mother but the outcome would be unknown.
It was good it explained a lot about the time travel and different timeliness. I like how it just said you change nothing but a new alternative timeline never your own. Also it feels like misaki Help create A machine god or IA god or god that will save humanity. Maybe even enslave them who know but can't wait for more.
The show just proves there is no fate but what we create. Kenta just proved that by choosing not to destroy the AI. Now, they are on a new path (or timeline) where their future is unknown.
Based on my understanding of the story, Malcom's timeline is Kokoro & Humans vs. Skynet, Eiko's timeline is Kokoro & Skynet vs. Humans, and The Terminator's timeline is Humans & Skynet vs. Kokoro. The prophet states that you are creating a new timeline when you use time travel, instead of going back to your own past. So if Malcom, Eiko, and The Terminator all went back in time, wouldn't they each create their own individual timeline? How did all three of these characters meet in the same past, with three different timeline origins? Did Eiko and the Terminator end up traveling back to Malcom's created timeline by coincidence? If so, wouldn't that contradict the idea of creating your own timeline? Especially because all three individuals were sent separately?
I absolutely loved this show. Feels like a mishmash of The Animatrix and Pantheon. I just didn't like how the ending didn't leave with a good cliffhanger, or any lingering questions that I was just dying to have answered. Then they add the whole going to another time thing. It's just so vague. Still, incredible show so far.
i have a strong feeling that "the prophet" is Ako. She is the Ako that took the long way around... at the end... the Ako that climbs down the sewer goes on living... gets an arm replacement... makes Lee, continues on... finds her younger self... and sends her back. OH SHIZ!!! I LITERALLY JUST SAW THIS IN THE VIDEO... 6:56 LOOK AT HER HANDS!!! SHE IS EVEN WEARING THE SAME GLOVES!!!
It was good to follow a terminator story in a different country for once. Love to see stories set in other countries. One of the things that came to mind though when we see Judgement Day happen is that surely after all those nukes going off around the world all that nuclear full out is going to spread even over Japan, sis Kokoro protect against this as well?

@@SamuelBlack84 skynet revived an inmate that was a serial killer that started converting terminators. Eventually he trying taking over skynet. So the mc from the film and John had to help skynet for the lesser of two evils.

T Zero right up there with T1 & T2.
I thought this show was brilliant! From start to finish I was hooked. This NEEDS to be an ongoing series
I thought it was very respectful to the lore and core of what terminator is. The very narrative especially in these times of AI, of getting a machine to learn what it is to be human and work together was not only well thought out, but comforting in some sense. Then masterfully giving us several plot twists and joining the dots together
The dialogue was written beautifully, very convincing and real. The animation for the terminator was smooth as fuck, and gave an Erie presence and the action had me in the edge of my seat
Overall 10/10 for me- keep it going, I want to find out what happens next. I honestly didn’t want it to end
I was thinking the prophet was another version of sarah connor
Did anyone else notice the hint to the "Eraser" movie of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the terminator robots were holding duel rifles.
Those are Gepard Lynx .50 BMG anti-material rifles.
I enjoyed this show! They need to make more anime in these popular worlds. I need a Game of thrones anime…
a season 8 REDO in anime please
I need an *Aliens* anime
@@pandorin2348 this is untapped gold here!
Game of thrones anime would be sick. So would an Aliens anime
haven't you heard? they are making one.
The series was great! Best thing since T2. We need a season 2!
I think the prophet is the original Terminator . They both have damaged over the left side of their face. And the original Terminator head has been found and could have been put on to a different body and skin, it would also have knowledge of the past present and potential future
The prophet could be multiple characters, eiko/misaki/the terminator or even sarah connor.
the prophet is either malcom daughter or future eiko
malcolm's mother with a prosthetic in the future is the same age or slightly older than her doppelganger with a crushed arm stuck more than 25-35 years ago in the past, in a world where kokoro greatly prevented skynet from destroying the world by destroying the main stock of attacking nukes, so this most likely does not prove the loop, rather a high chance of damaging limbs while fighting machines, but anime creators can abuse logic in the next seasons in any way
even if some semblance of loops is created, then most likely they are false, and have sliding small differences, which in 1000 repetitions with minimal changes will lead to a completely different reality
How much do the brainrot shorts pay
At the end of the anime, those flashes of light that we saw in the air was Skynet attempting to launch more nukes at people, and Kokoro intercepting them in space, making them blow up a nice safe distance away from the surface.
I’m pretty sure that The Prophet is Eiko but specifically the Eiko that gave birth to the scientist and if not she’s definitely an Eiko from somewhere, the scientist said nearly the same thing as The Prophet in his last moments
I realized I spelled "Judgment Day" "Jugment Day" which honestly sounds a lot more fun tbh.
It's all good ....... half of the people in here cannot read anyway
Almost as good as Muffment Day.
Or as Mike Tyson would say, “Juthment Day”
Time travel has ALWAYS been like this in the Terminator franchise, only the anime actually explains it while the terminators in the movies are vague on it.
@@bassplayer807 mf is malding cuz of a latina ☠️🙏
@@bassplayer807Dark Fate is garbage, yes, but so is Genisys. The casting is terrible especially with Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, the plot just has random things happening for no good reason, and the fanservice stuff is over the top. It feels like a fanfiction that somehow got turned into a movie.

Hope we see new terminator models in the future
I’m glad that this Terminator project was great bc I love the first two movies and this show made me miss the horror vibes of Terminator 1 and I really love the anime style and that twists at the endings was really good and I wasn’t expecting it but I’m jus glad we have another Terminator project that’s solid like Sarah Connors Chronicles. I hope we get a S2!
It was a great first season and I had to watch it from start to end. really interesting especially Kokoro. The whole AI vs Ai has me thinking!!!
Just binged this this afternoon. I was only going to watch one episode to see if it was any good. 4 hours later, I've finished it. Really enjoyed it.
And that's pretty metal gear solid
skynet can lie to achieve goals, it would probably just turn on the remaining humans once the bigger threat was taken care of.
It might be Misaki.
Eg Storm Troopers losing to the Ewoks because they can't shoot straight. lol
They way I would have done it is she has smoke bomb but the terminator has heat vision to see through the smoke, and as the terminator is shooting she has few resistance fighters there to hold it off but they die while she gets into position.
Anyone else thinks Kenta is the father of Malcolm creating a paradox? In the last episode there's this long staring between Kenta and Eiko...
Weirddd lmaoo
Wonderful video and excellent explanation 👏
The Prophet is Misaki.
That actually would be an interesting reveal
@@tweeks9896 looking forward to season 2!!
I think its Reika
The different colored skin “grafts” and how she + Malcolm (1997) made the same gesture referring to Fate make me feel the same.
Repeat.
1991 was Terminator 2, and that’s the movie you showed clips of.
ai made videos, what do you expect
He doesn’t use AI. I’ve personally helped edit videos for many different larger channels (even his at some point from my 12+ years in the industry if I’m remembering correctly) long before the whole AI prevalence & the editing style is like most of the last 10~ish years. Don’t be so daft.

I want to know how Malcolm explained Misaki to his human wife
I bet she was boiling over with Jealousy and contempt even though that’s the exact reason he was there in the first place.
Example: you are in a garage band and while playing in some dive bar and a woman thinks you’re cute and it’s cool you are in a band and play instruments, …but later on
Route 1: You are not that successful but it’s your passion so she wants you to quit.
He probably just said she was a housekeeper and held a mock hiring process.

This was really good! The animation the writing was all great! Why can't more productions be like this?
The Prophet is Eiko herself, she time traveling over and over to search the answer. That the point of termintator zero. Thats why we see in episode 7 malcolm and misaki again in the past. They created a new time line, beacause kokoro take memory the terminator from the future.

terminator zero was great and loved the story line.. good emotional connections to the characters
the intro is so good 😂😂 "why"
This is how I will see this having a season 2 to 3.
Season 2 highlights Kokoro Fights Skynet.
Season 3 Kokoro wins and get in complication with remaining humans. Ends with Kokoro going haywire. And being shut down.
Malcolm using these references doesn’t show that he spoke with the prophet, those are the same things eiko saw and heard, probably told her kid the same
cant believe netflix got this on point, but im really glad about it

I like the show just fine. But I can't help but wish we'd get a proper John Conner/ Kyle Reese centered show, fighting Skynet in the future. Animation would be the perfect medium for that kind of story. It's a shame writers and producers don't have the same sentiment.
I agree with you there
My favorit part about this series is how it adresses time travle while still respecting the original movies.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles touched on some of the same things. AI and different timelines. We are just getting a cartoon version of that. This story........will be back
Terminator zero: ABSOLUTE CINEMA, PEEK ANIME OF TERMINATOR
Remember the t 800 was sent back by one of his son’s in a possible future. It feels like judgment day no matter what timeline is going to happen
I love this anime. unique and fresh.
Amazing take on the terminator loved it
Great show! Really hope to get more seasons! VERY refreshing from the past Terminator sequels!
Thanks your explanation, help me to understand the stories
Man, what a finale! The conversations were very enjoyable, beautiful score too! ❤
This is mt type of show 10/10 must watch with no spoilers
Man you saying all this makes me wanna watch it again I want a season 2 badly
I stg i sat and watched all 8 episodes straight through, went through way too many enotions watching that masterpiece
I think Kokoro is going to create her own Terminators based off Skynets design
thanks for the video
It was good it explained a lot about the time travel and different timeliness. I like how it just said you change nothing but a new alternative timeline never your own. Also it feels like misaki Help create A machine god or IA god or god that will save humanity. Maybe even enslave them who know but can't wait for more.
I enjoyed this as much as T1 and T2.
Now I just need a physical copy of season one and for season two to come out asap 😎
This terminator really bring us back to T1 and T2...
That timeline seems like it would be better than all the other ones.
1991 was not the last time it had a good entry in the series. Sarah Connor Chronicles exists. That was pretty good and it was 2008.
The show just proves there is no fate but what we create. Kenta just proved that by choosing not to destroy the AI. Now, they are on a new path (or timeline) where their future is unknown.
so it's basically Dragon Ball Z Cell Arc? Where Trunks comes from the future to save Goku, but Future Trunks World is still ruined?
Loved it .
USA: Okay, you can make an anime about Terminator.
Japan: Cool, but we are adding a japanese AI named Kokoro.
USA: Of course you are.
I find it hilarious that Malcolm is betting on Kokoro choosing humanity with free will, when humans ourselves can't even choose to save ourselves 😅
The terminators with their inhumane stare while in their human skin form looks very scary 😧 creepy as hell
Especially because all three individuals were sent separately?
i think eikos timeline is a free for all with skynet, kokoro and the humans.
Macolm time is human vs. skynet, Eiko time is human vs. skynet vs. Kokoro, and Terminator is humans & skynet vs. Kokoro.
This series made the terminator what it was in the first movie. Almost a horror movie. It was really thrilling to was sometimes
It was Very Nice
i have a strong feeling that "the prophet" is Ako.
Japan probably wasn't safe in that timeline until Malcom went back in time and created a new timeline.
Did anyone notice at the beginning of timestamp 3:09 The connection between the golden AI and the Green vertical code?
If you all remember The original creator of the Matrix and Terminator lore said Matrix and Terminator are "linked". You can see further proof by watching episode 1 or 2 of Animatrix. Its the same Gold coded A.I. as in that shot in timestamp 3:09 And both are called Goddess (of something).
Just now realized what I was seeing in this clip 😂.
P.S. if anyone was wondering: the author mentioned Terminator takes place before the Matrix. Which to my reasoning is why Morpheus and the other nerds don't know how or when the war started. "Or who struck first" as Morpheus said.
