The imperial soldiers barged through the fallen doors, Nemesis steadies her fighting stance and immediately deflects the laser shots, emphasizing her quick reflexes thanks to her years of discipline. From there, Zack Snyder carefully maneuvers camera angles and lighting (the sun rays are signified here as the 'Gods' witnessing the fight, deciding the fate of these characters) as well as excellent and meaningful use of slow-mo to demonstrate more of Nemesis' gentle yet tenacious rage flowing through her veins, with defeated soldiers showered with glistening lava-like debris splattered in artistic directions amidst the angelic haloes of the lightsabers, clashes between the two colored sides of good and evil (albeit averted here where good is evil and evil is good). At the end, Nemesis won the duel but with a price: as she knells on the floor, a child she made acquaintances earlier comes to her, telling her not to die but the fallen warrior knows better, with her sombre yet hopeful gesture and expression, not only she bonds with someone she never knew she'll ever have in her life but to reassure him that life will triumph over the grips of the Motherworld, only to die peacefully in this inspiring piece of work inspired by Zack's personal tragedy, not to mention emotional orchestration by Junkie XL.

something i love about this scene is how unceremonious it is. every other seppuku in the show is rife with ceremony, but yabushige just tosses omi his poem, sits on his ass, looks out at the sea, then suddenly sticks himself and turns to look his second in the eye. it's just so yabu.

"My one and only friend" -> "my dear friend, it must come down to this" "I stood by your side" -> "you know, I have and will ever support you" "Then die by my side in Osaka" -> "don't do this, it's pointless, stay with me" "You are throwing away all that we fought for" -> "if I stay, you really will throw all of your plan away" "I have made my decision. Make yours" -> "if that's your decision, so be it" "So you do believe in pointless death" -> "you see its necessity, you know MY death isn't pointless, dear friend" The look on Toranaga here is wreathed in pain, he knows his plan won't work otherwise but he is desperately not wanting his friend to die. "Lord! Your vassal dies in vain!" -> "Lord! Your vassal dies for you!" "Then die" -> "then do it" Omi tries to stop it, not getting the unspoken truth. "I will not yield" Buntaro here isn't shocked, but kind of relieved, you can almost see him smile... he gets that his friend understood the full lenghts and costs of his plan, and has accepted the strategy of the situation. He then, says True Farewell, he isn't crying because of his decision, he is glad his friend understood him. Buntaro then tells his son to live for his Lord, be his support, even when the Lord has given up on himself. Toranaga is human after all, you can see it on his face he is trying his damn hardest not to cry, not to beg him to stop, as he steels himself. Buntaro offers his last attempt, a "Forgive Me", he begs forgiveness because of the anguish he is putting his dear friend through, a final "I'm sorry, but I know you got it from here".

It's not nice to piss off Mother Nature. I wonder if she can control Typhon to only attack them and not the innocent mortals, or even guilty ones who have nothing to do with this.
