  • www.democracynow.org - Shortly after the U.S. military was forced to vacate a base in Afghanistan's Wardak Province this spring, the bodies of 10 Afghan villagers were found nearby. All of the people had disappeared after being detained by U.S. special forces. The base was used by a unit known as "The A-Team," which has also been linked to eight other murders in Wardak. The mystery behind the deaths is the center of a shocking new exposé which reports the disappearances and killings could amount to some of the gravest war crimes perpetrated by U.S. forces since the U.S.-led invasion in 2001. We are joined by Matthieu Aikins, an award-winning investigative journalist based in Kabul who spent five months investigating the killings for his Rolling Stone article, "The A-Team Killings."

I finally decided to look but was disappointed by the results. I can't speak to this incident but I strongly believe these murders happened. I can speak to the many other reports of wrongdoing (read war crimes and murders) that got trashcanned as soon as they were filed. Ask me how I know

It's sad isn't it? Our soldiers are put on such a pedestal. If we criticize them, we get the prescribed "have you ever served...then shut up" response. This sort of blind patriotism is extremely frightening.

Such ignorance by people in the comments. Americans would arrest Taliban members who were killing US soldiers and committing atrocities but the corrupt Afghan government would let them go. This happened over and over so the US special operations started killing them because it was the only way to get justice.

I knew a 26 year old university student who was also arrested and then beaten and then killed and his body dumped in the river, by the same team. May curse of god be upon u, who asked u to come to our country, we had nothing to do with 9/11 and yet u came to our country u killed, rape and destroyed our homes. May u go through what u put us through. He mentioned my buddy Nasratullah.

And then they say insider attacks in afghan army are taliban infiltrators.. Yeh right, Santa is black too.. These insider attacks where afghan army personnel kill American soldiers are in retaliation of the unjust and cruel killings that they see by special forces in those poor afghan villages .. That same base there was an afghan hero who killed 3 American soldiers when he opened fire with 50 caliber gun.. Good job afghan hero, rest in peace.. You are example of justice and pride of afghan nation.. Don't murder afghans or else you will get murdered..

Hahaha that's funny cause not a single u.s soldier was killed in the span of 18 months, russia has lost more troops over the last 3 weeks then america did the entire time in afghan, also it was all over our main stream media quite a few soldiers were sentenced to jail for killing a ton of afghans and taking pictures posing with their dead Corpses, we punished them unlike you guys not being able to handle the taliban, We tried to build up you're own afghan army but you were to cowardly to fight and wanted us to do it for you, even left military equipment and you weak cowards fell in days to the talibans, if that's the government you want fine! Bet the girls will like no school and whatever else sick shit goes on in that terrorist country
