I own the s24 Ultra and the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Both have great screens. But the one thing I haven't heard mentioned by any reviewer is that, while the Pixel's screen is stunning at or just below max brightness, the quality goes way down from there, getting a bit flat and lifeless under about 80% brightness imo. The Ultra doesn't have this issue - I can use it at 50% brightness or even lower and the colors still pop and content looks gorgeous. This matters to me from both an eye comfort and battery perspective, and is one of the main reasons I find myself coming back to the Galaxy more often than not.

I'm still rocking the S22+ and it is working just fine. Never once used a case, and I work a manual labor job. The only real wear and tear on the phone is some of the color fading off the side rails. The fingerprint reader on my phone also seems to operate just as well as the S24 Ultra. Mine is instant and, you can used it on a locked, turned off screen. I really haven't seen any need to upgrade, and the S24 series just isn't tempting to me. That said, I'll see if the S25 series ups the ante enough for me to finally hand my phone in. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do.

Outside the US, there are numerous phones comparable to the S24U. In the US, due to government policies, consumers have access to only a fraction of the choices available, leaving them in the dark ages of smartphone technology possibilities. Brands like VIVO, Honor, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, and others offer fantastic phones with features that are important to many people, including fast charging, larger batteries, larger sensor cameras, bulletproof displays, and all now provide 4+1 years of support, which aligns with the average upgrade cycle. Really, no smartphone stands out if you have the full spectrum of choices. In the US, the bias for Samsung is because there are nominal Android choices.

There’s better features with android, but every Samsung phone I’ve had, the charge port broke, the camera fogged, the screen quit working after a minor drop.

Yes, only the 2024 Android flagship has 12GB RAM. Of course, being a techie is something I care about, especially as 12GB in tests cannot even beat 8GB iPhones in RAM management.
