The million dollar fight over Star Wars Stormtrooper Helmets..

- Andrew Ainsworth is the industrial designer who crafted the plastic stormtrooper helmets used in the original "Star Wars" film in 1977. He charged Lucas 20 pounds (about $30 at today's exchange rates) for each of the stormtrooper helmets, packed the molds away and forgot about them.
But after Star Wars become one of the most successful franchises of all ties.. Ainsworth decided to make and sell the helmets. He ended up in court with Lucas. So who won??

Let's get some facts straight:
- Ralph McQuarrie designed the Stormtrooper
- Liz Moore (who tragically died before A New hope was released) sculpted the helmet
- Brian Muir sculpted the armor
- Andrew Ainsworth vacuformed the helmets and armor because the studios equipment broke down
- Ainsworths current armor is not 100% original, much of the molds were modified or taken from other fan makers
- he did not win "all the courts", he won some of the cases, Lucasfilm won some others
- he is not allowed to sell internationally, even though he does on the sly.
He's steeling credit from others, and most awfully - the deceased artist who created the original sculpture. His yellow and or grey plasticine versions of him "sculpting" are not the ones used and are not even close to what the originals are.

Damn MEDIA again screws up royally. Ainsworth only mass produced the originals, he DID NOT create the design or sculpt the molds. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. And what he makes isn't screen accurate. We who know the truth are tired of the media not researching this and feeding the public reasons to feel bad about him "making up for court fees etc"....absolute bull.
If only Liz Moore was still with us today, Ainsworth wouldn't be making anything. She would have fought him and won. It's her design.
