Djokovic vs Federer Wimbledon 2019 final, not in terms of quality because Nole didn't play his best at all, but because of drama, circumstanced, ups and downs, turnarounds etc. As a Nole fan this final and the Wimbledon semifinal vs. Nadal in 2018 are my favourite matches from Nole at Wimby.

This video is specifically for 2002-2017, but yeah, that Nadal vs Djokovic match is probably the best one I've ever seen. The other semi-final between Isner and Anderson was an epic as well. In my opinion, Wimbledon 2018 had the greatest finals phase ever. All of the finals matches were fantastic (e.g., Nadal vs. Del Potro), with the only exception being the actual final itself lol..
Nadal has had about 5 matches of the year already this season
Just cause the game as very even does not mean it was good, match quality was very poor by both, the messed up so many points it was insane. Mid-late 2000s matches were insane quality, AO2009 SF an F and Wimby 2008F are probably the best games of all times, maybe Wimby 1980F could be at that level, just insane.

Wow, there are 20 matches in honorable mention :)) I just realized that my top 10 is a top 30 actually :) These past 15 years have been the best years in tennis history, in terms of consistency and number of amazing matches, not to mention it is the period in which the best 3 tennis players in history all played at the same time. I hope that 2018 will also be a memorable one, with Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Wawrinka, Del Potro and the rest delivering outstanding quality matches. Happy new year and thanks again!

It's so funny about Wimbledon 2007. As I watched Wimbledon2007, I said to myself, "This is the best tennis match I've ever SEEN." That's what got me so hyped for 2008, which somehow managed to be exponentially greater. But 2007 should not be forgotten!
No wonder Rafa is injured all the time now.
Khurmiful People dont know but the main issue for Nadal isnt his long matches (that is also one of the consequences for being tired but not the main one) is his foot. Rafa almost retired in 2006 because he had problems with his foot and couldnt even walk. He saved his career at that time but that caused him problems in the future as he wasnt running as he should. So he had pain in his knees and also a lot of injuries in that part of the body.
Many dont even know or forget about this tbh.

Yes, Wimbly 07 was a better final in tennis but 08 was a thriller ^^. Australian Open 17 is not top 5 in this list. Each player dominated each set before the fifth with a tired Rafa, surviving for his break and keep his serve.

The reason these are great matches in the first place is because Federer lost. If he won it would've been just another day in the office for him. Go figure that most of these matches are either upsets or 50/50 matches and apart from Nadal at the FO he was the favorite against anyone anywhere. There's a reason why the 2007 Wimbledon final is almost forgotten even though the quality of that match is arguably higher than in the 2008 final.

Nadal is the most epic player ever with the most spectacular matches, because he can do the unbelievable.
This was the match where nadal proved to the world that he wasn't just a clay player. He truly became the best after beating prime fed who had been dominating the tournament for 5 years. And fed still hasn't been able to beat rafa in roland garros
It's like Roland Garros is a curse for Federer. He couldn't break through with Nadal on his way. It really break my heart to see Federer got beaten all the time by Nadal on Roland Garros. I skip watching FO final because i want Roger to win a few FO. 2009 was a consolation year that he won all thanks to Soderling.

Federer will never be overtaken as the GOAT no matter what. The way he transformed the sport and inspired many future stars to try and copy his game is just too good of a stat. I think it was too. But L0rd_ Kelvin, Nadal was in fantastic shape. If you were to be very nit-picky, you could argue his forehand wasn't at its best but it was still incredible in that game. I don't think Nadal's loss can be blamed on bad form/shape. He played an unbelievable match and so did Djokovic, but there can only be one winner.

That Australian Open final of 2017 was actually a pretty low-quality game. Both players were nervous and it was very topsy-turvy, with one player dominating at one time and the other dominating at the next. It was a pretty disappointing final and neither player was anywhere near his best. It was a scratchy match and an interesting one, but not close to being one of the best of the decade.
I guess the title of this video should be clarified as to what is meant by "best". In this case, clearly it means intensity.
French Open Final 2015? Both players playing at their absolute best. Djokovic coming into the final looking for an easy victory to complete his collection of slam titles, playing in his prime. Stan being overlooked but showing the fans that no one can stop him at his peak. Epic.

Top 10 best I've watched (1980 on replay).
Funny, I started watching regularly with Sampras-Agassi US Open in '90. But I wouldn't characterize ANY of their matches as greatest. That was the rush of seeing Federer-Nadal Wimbledon '07 and beyond. Matches of elite quality vs. elite quality became almost annual events. It's a great time for the sport.
Top-10 doesn't do it justice tbh! Ther are way too many to pick from the top of head, but i would honestly extend the list by mentioning any Wawrinka vs. Djokovic matches, with the exception of US Open 2016, where Djokovic didn't play at his best...their biggest battles all originate from AO and they also had amazing match at US Open before finals once! Most recently Nadal vs. Thiem at US Open quarter-finals this year deserves mention and Djokovic vs. Nadal from the Wimbledon semi-finals also this year! Del Potro also put up the great fight at the Wimbledon this year against Rafa as well! Most of the big stake matches between Federer and Safin were great battles, between Federer and Nalbandian too, Hewitt in his earlier career could produce high wuality matches against Federer as well! Agassi fough well against Federer before Federer became unstoppable! Seriously, there are way too many!...
Look at the points here between the big 3... Compare it to Djokovic now bullying the next gen. Djokovic right now would get wiped by even Prime versions of Murray, Stan, Del Po, Tsonga, Berdych, Ferrer. But he's owning these kids even at 36. Talk about difference in levels

@@axel978 Think he meant in terms of matches, not playstyle. He is in at least half of the best matches ever and that's no coincidence. Thus, the most entertaining player to watch. Seeing him battling in epic clashes is epic.

All are 5 set matches. But we consider 3 sets matches then the Madrid semifinal of 2009 between Djokovic and Nadal would have definitely counted. A 4 hour marathon it was.

I would take out the Federer vs Djokovic (French Open 2011) one and replace it with Federer vs Roddick (Wimbledon 2009).
There’s two I think belong on here because they were better than a few I saw definitley better than federer Djokovic in Paris and wimbledon2014 final. Djokovic vs Murray Australia 2012 and Djokovic bs del potro Wimbledon 2013

Federer vs roddick should have been on the list 2009 Wimbledon. In terms of quality it was one the best matches ever played. AO 2012 was just mind blowing.
for me ao09 final is the match with the most ridiculous level of tennis, but as a huge fedex fan ao17 is probably the best tournament he has ever played, and the final was just a cherry on top, going from 1:3 to 6:3 absolutely mopping floor with prime Rafa.
I am a tennis player since I was 6 years old , but what these guys do , specially the big three is fantastic....The game of all times is Federer x Nadal , Wimbledon 2008 , for sure !

I've been blessed to see some of the greatest Tennis matches ever. Agassi/Sampras Australian Open Final 1995 was a classic that gets overlooked. I saw Some memorable classics with the Big 3.. Nadal/Novak US Open 2010/2013, Nadal/Fed Aussie Open Final 2009, But nothing, and I mean nothing comes close to Nadal/Federer Wimbledon 2008.. Best match I ever saw, and I don't think it's close. The shot making, the drama, the setting, everything.. I'll still go back, and watch replays of that match. It was breath taking..
But in terms of quality was the 08 Wimbledon the best ?
@Millard. Evan Imo? Yes... I named a few I've seen that rival it, and ill take as legit justified matches someone can view as better. This 08 match was the best I've seen live. FED/Nadal Aussie final is up there as well. Agassi/Sampras 95 Aussie final was incredible. Then I could go back to a couple matches in the 80's right there. So it's subjective.
