I was really into tennis as a kid growing up in the 90s, and I cannot tell you how much I miss the days when Agassi and Sampras were dominating. As an American, its really sad to see how far tennis has fallen in my country over the past decade and a half.
As far as Agassi going too far in some of his comments, yeah, he maybe did, but if you watch this, AGASSI WAS THE SHOW. Its not like this event was a pure tennis event. The crowd paid for their tickets to hear some interesting banter, and without Andre, this match would have been a BOREFEST. I love Pete, but the guy was never the most charismatic of players, and Nadal, god bless him, really couldn't add much more than a smile other than hitting the tennis ball. Federer was funny, but Andre carried this event. P.S. LOVED the tipping comment!!!

There was nothing hilarious about petes joke, which was imitating andres walk and mannerisms, which borders on making fun. People can get real embarrassed by that. That was a personal attack on andre.
All andre did was poke fun at pete for 'not tipping' and somehow people think that was more personal?? Im sorry but thats nonsense. Andre did not poke fun at petes appearance or mannerisms. It was pete who turned things ugly. Not andre.
I know why people take petes side though. Its cowardice. Pete has won more slams and is seen as the better player. Therefore his 'status' allowed him to get away with something an ordinary person would not have been allowed to get away with.
Put yourself in the situation. Imagine you had andres walk and also did not tip like sampras doesnt tip. If someone were to choose one thing to make fun of you in public, would you rather them make fun of you for not tipping or your actual walk?? I know i would choose not tipping.

He was bitter over Agassi playfully saying that he got serious, pushed his impersonation too far and for too long, and then he aggressively provoked Agassi at the 48:37 mark. TheSaxophoneMan16 You can do that with anyone though. Half of Sampras's were on grass and he never even won the French or an Olympic gold metal. And Federer can't be better than Nadal because Nadal dominated him throughout their career. Nadal beat Federer on grass at Wimbledon. He beat Djokovic at the U.S. Open. So he beats the best on their respected surface. They don't beat him at the French. So while he's figured out ways to beat the best on their surfaces, they haven't figured out how to beat him on his. I really don't see how he's not the best? He's the defending US Open champ and had his back not given out, he'd be the defending Australian open champ too.
Also, why would you assume he's never going to win another major, other than the French? He's the defending US Open champion. And, like I said, he by all means, should be the Australian open champ too. I think you're rooting against him.
      Pretty obvious choice for me.

aretium1231 Federer dominated a weak era. It was a post-Sampras and Agassi era. And it was a pre-Nadal, and eventually Djokovic and Murray era. I'm not knocking Fed. He is arguably the greatest. But it was a weak era and that is why he was so dominant. Nadal has just had his way with Federer so easily though, that it's hard to put Fed above him. That's my opinion anyhow. No problem with someone saying Fed is the best though, None whatsoever.
