After using a steam cleaner to clean my stove, one of the burners kept clicking but not lighting. Tried this and it worked! Thanks!

Thank you so much! I tried to take everything apart to get my stove top off and after 90 minutes still couldn’t do it. I was glad to get it back together to call a repair person. I kept searching the Internet, found this video, and in 4 minutes the problem was solved!

Fixed the issue i had with my Kenmore gas stove top burner in 5 mins by watching your video. I used a straight pin to clean out the hole. Thanks for the video.

Your video helped me understand and solve my same issue (same burner too). I did not have a small enough drill bit but found that a small safety pin fit through the small hole and cleared it out. Thank you!

Dunno the diameter; but mine is open. Guess I'll gingerly drill it.

      (feedback) My port was open for a "wire feed-thru"=not good enuf. I used a 3/16 nut-driver @

The gunk and dried up stuff inside everything was exactly my problem! I had taken apart and cleaned everything and put it back together and it still didn't work! Took it all apart again and went to work on all the gunk in the holes and groves. Thank you thank you!

I found your video because I was experiencing the same issue with the (most used) burner not lighting. However, my issue was not the igniter bleed hole being clogged, but the actual gas orifice being extremely dirty. This also explains the reduced performance of this (the largest) burner, as it would barely keep a pot of water boiling.
To fix this, I removed the gas diffuser, as shown (it would have been helpful if you had mentioned the size of driver needed to do this. I believe it is a 4.5mm, but I was able to twist the heads clean off with a 3/16" - screws were rusted). After removing the diffuser, you can see a brass orifice down in the exposed hole. This required a 9/32" hex driver to remove, and the orifice has a wire ring around the hex to hold it securely in the driver bit so you don't lose it under the top cover of the range. I cleaned the orifice using the appropriate size drill bit and re-assembled. Voila! Starts on first click of the igniter, and also has a noticeably fuller flame on high setting.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, though!

After cleaning that small hole with a safety pin 🧷 still didn’t work, then I tried cleaning the entire thing with a soap solution to soften the hard spill over coating and used an external gas lighter to ignite and within seconds the flame came and was back to normal. This video really saved in bringing a technician and the wait period. Thanks once again

Great video. 3 of my burners are clicking and lighting on their own. One of the burners isn’t clicking at all. Gas is coming out but not igniting. Is it a faulty igniter? Thanks.

I did clean that tiny hole but still no ignition , is the igniter needs to be changed as no spark observed?

That hole is meant for oxygen.... Not the natural gas.
