Hi, I followed the steps in the video and at 7:14 when I try to connect to the server in file explorer I get this error: "Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder. Details: A connection with the server could not be established" What should I do?
Thank you so much! most of the tutorials I've found on the internet, or at least the first ones returned from Google, deals with the previous versions of Windows. Yours is just excellent, step by step. The only small pitfall I had was this small window from from Window's firewall... it poped up behind other windows, so it took a bit of a time to see it !D Thank you again, great job 👍
Hi Great tutorial with step by step work throughs, it all got setup a treat, but I have a couple of questions, one is you never covered the Filezilla client connection which I need to use but I presume you just use the ip address of the server and user + Password like I do with my NAS drives. The second question is a more complex one and it concerns, this can you use different users per computer that can then upload to a specific folder per computer to a specific HDD per computer. Let me explain I have a server with windows 11 on and used as a fileserver now yes I can use windows networking to transfer file and folders but its not the most reliable, hence filezilla server and client, the property is in 2 parts with the server in an outer building and various computers in the house and I need to upload to the fileserver from individual computers to there own storage space so not to cause confusion. Now I have created the users and the folders and listed the virtual paths but the shortcut regardless will only work under ftp_user and its folder as per you tutorial. What am I doing wrong to give them their individuality. Thanks for the help.
Why didn't you go further and show your beholders how can it be accessd the server FROM THE INTERNET?! And, instead of accessing the server's folder from a browser why didn't you use a ftp client like Filezilla Client or WinSCP that either of them is more versatile than a browser?! It seems to me or you have no idea how to do that?
