    I have had this for two days. Awesome for what its designed to be. This has a lot of features. The 9 core UHi 20 Max LED is great. Just be aware this puppy runs hot, that means short run times at highest levels. That built in 18650 battery is 4000mAh, larger capacity than the average 18650. Also worth mentioning is the proximity sensor is one of the fastest reacting I have even seen on a flashlight. Great video.

    This is a pretty neat flashlight. I got mine last week and have been carrying it around for a few days as well. For starters, it's small, and easy to carry around. It's a bit small for larger hands because this thing does get hot. I found it hard to hold while operating without my hand getting too warm. If you have large hands are want to use this thing on some of the highest settings, it WILL get to hot to hold at the top of the flashlight. One inch longer and it wouldn't be a problem, once again...for larger hands. If you have smaller hands this isn't an issue. I do like the tactical tail switch and how it cycles through the modes. It's not some flashlight that you just hand to somebody as it does have a learning curve on how to use it. I do like the 'panic' full push mode. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of it. It's blinding bright. It would be nice to have a mode that is pure flood without the spot. Pure flood is nice for when you're working in an environment and don't' want a hot spot. For the price and power, it's a damn good deal. I can see this replacing my p10ix if I was outdoors more. But for inside use, the p10ix is a clear winner. ((I want to add how awesome the lock out is and what an INGENIOUS way to protect the USB port. This alone sets this flashlight apart from the competition. I hate those rubber covers they all other rechargeable lights have. ))

    I still hold the Fenix TK20R near to my heart. I know it's twice the price. But the quality and the range that it has is just unstoppable. I have a lot of nitecore, streamlight, and fenix. And the TK20R has been my go to duty light since I picked it up this year, it just tops the others in my opinion.
    I keep the tk20r on High, one step from turbo and it provides 1000 lumens at 265 meters and if I need I can step it up to turbo, 3000 lumens at 475 meters of range (56,600 Candela)
    I find the constant available strobe feature to be a must as well. All around solid video though and thank you for sharing 💪

    • @einShawn
      @einShawn 6 месяцев назад +1

      Would you recommend the tk20r over the tk16 v2 even tho it has no glass braker and only lasts ~42s in Turbo? (I think the tk16 was something like 2-3min in Turbo)? If yes why?
      (I really can't decide which one I should get)

    • @EverydayBladeCollector
      @EverydayBladeCollector 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@einShawn the TK20R outclasses it in the candela sense in every mode, including high and that's usually what my light is set at. Candela is more important to me as it has more punch/throw (easier to see through smoke, tinted windows, etc)
      Distance and candela has shown to be more important than lumens for me many times. When my neighbors house was on fire the other week I grabbed my nitecore P30i off of my shelf of lights just because it was the most suitable for the situation... And the light never left the medium mode. I was able to see things that the local fire department couldn't, it just shows that depending on the emergency you might prefer more throw than overall brightness. Hope this helps 💪

    • @einShawn
      @einShawn 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@EverydayBladeCollector totally makes sense, I think the 2 only things that bug me out with the tk20 are the really short time for Turbo and that it doesn’t have the glass braker like ghe tk16. However how often would i actually need Turbo for more than 40s.
      So thank you already for your help, I think it helped but also brought up more questions😅
      And even tho I did quite a lot of research in the last days, I‘m still totally new to „tactical equipment“ like Flashlights

    • @EverydayBladeCollector
      @EverydayBladeCollector 6 месяцев назад +2

      @@einShawn if it helps at all I would recommend getting an individual glass breaker/pry bar. It relieves you of having to carry a specific item. My socom elite is my daily carry atm so that's my glass breaker. Also be prepared to not be able to break modern car windows as they're not made from the same material as it was a few years back. Just do some research on glass breakers and what cars they're applicable to.

    The regular modes are great and all anyone needs.The high at 1200 lumens has a beautiful throw and flood combo. The switch takes a bit getting used to. The 1700 is for a temporary whats that down the road ,and 4000 setting definitely only for emergency self defense bursts. I put the tactical finger ring from Nitecore and i just love the quick access with the Tac ring,and compactness of the light.
    Having said that, I just got the new Weltool T-12 and it is a friggin Beast at 144 candela on Turbo. Pocket carry for Winter only maybe. A heavy light but has a beautiful spot and some beautiful flood.

    The thing about high lumens… 4,000 is not twice as bright as 2,000 (not even close), but it is going to be a whole lot hotter. Really, there’s rapidly diminishing returns past 400 or so. So the big question in my mind is: how long can you actually hold the flashlight without burning your hand?

    • @Rollshambo
      @Rollshambo  7 месяцев назад +3

      I think this would make for an interesting video..but I'm going to assume you're referencing my comparison of the baton 3 pro max(2500 lumen) vs the edc33(4000) lumen..if we are getting down to brass tax no one is going to be using the max output turbo/luminshield modes as a primary use especially since neither last very long...so it would actually be better to compare their high modes...for the olight that's 800 lumens 1700ish candela and it will last round about 4 hours...for the edc33 high mode is 1200 lumens 10500 candela and can run for 2 and a half hours....would you agree there is a difference in percievable brightness between 800lm and 1200lm? Or between 1700 candela and 10500 candela? On a performance scale it's not even close..the olight will outlast in high mode but it won't be as bright and the beam won't go as far...thanks for the discussion🙌

      @@Rollshambo I was using round numbers to make the point. I just wonder how practical the “shield” and “searchlight” functions are, given how hot I imagine this light must get (that would be a useful test for a followup video).

    • @Rollshambo
      @Rollshambo  7 месяцев назад +4

      @FreedomFox1 I think I'm pickin up what your saying...the luminshield is for self defense and for self defense purposes the intensity of 4k lumens pointed at you would still be blinding even indoors with the lights on

    • @FreedomFox1
      @FreedomFox1 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@Rollshambo That’s a good point, most tactical lights are not going to be bright enough to work in daylight. So it is bringing something new to the table. It would still be good to know the duration before getting too hot. It’s not a fault of the product, but that’s an unavoidable issue with small lights, although it can be mitigated by cooling ridges and the electronics stepping-down power. Personally, I’d also think a slightly longer design would improve cooling and give your hand extra distance from the hottest part, without really preventing it from fitting in the pocket…. But for all I know, the light steps-down enough to prevent a real issue.

    • @superman-el9jd
      @superman-el9jd 7 месяцев назад +2

      I will only use it for a quick burst in an self defense scenario,so it wont be a problem. Seriously,the 300 lumen mode looks amazing and most people do not need more than that. The fact you get six hours of runtime on 300 lumens that it amazing. Otherwise for situations many may encounter for everyday use ,the 1200 lumen mode with spot and flood is all you will ever need. The lumen shield mode is a great momentary self defense tool. Short burst and run like hell

    Canister of P.spray, and God's grace saved my Life last week.
    This is a flashlight. And, one with a captive, proprietary battery inside.
    Two issues, one is that it has a short shelf-life compared to other flashlights. When the battery finally no longer can hold a charge, instead of simply replacing the battery; you need to buy a new flashlight. Second, if you're in an extended emergency and your EDC 33 runs out of juice, you can't politely ask the emergency to please stop for the hours it'll take you to recharge your flashlight. Assuming you're even able to recharge it at all, at the time.
    I'll stick with my Nitecore P10iX (proprietary battery, but I have two and can swap out the depleted battery for the fully charged one if needed). And, my Nitecore MH12S. That one has no proprietary battery. It does have an excellent beam that is a good combination of both flood and throw, without having to switch between the two.

    I think Nitecore improvements make them really close to the perfect EDC tactical flashlight, let me explain, I prefer to have 2,3 same tactical EDC flashlights, what can I carry and swap it in my rifle with a simple tail cap remote switch on a magnetic mount, rather than have 3 different flashlight for one each of them, same light same function drive to memory and use consistency, and if I have a failure, just swap for the second same flashlight and good to go!

      there are about a million more situations where this light would be useful for self defense over a handgun. i also ccw, and understand the laws of my state.

      @quickcuts3000 the laws in my state are some of the loosest in the country. Stand yout ground law/castle doctrine. You can also brandish anytime you feel threatened.

    I ABSOLUTELY cannot stand the built in batteries. They completely ruin absolutely great flashlights. It is the only thing holding them back from being amazing.

    • @quickcuts3000
      @quickcuts3000 7 месяцев назад

      nah. who fucking cares. that battery is good to go for years. by then there will be far better lights. stop thinking like poor working class. this is a cheap light, if you can't hang get yourself a coast from home depot or stop wasting your meager hourly paycheck on booze, cigarettes, and online gambling. you human livestock.

    just got mine and I hate it.
    Not only does it malfunction immensely and repeatedly, staying stuck on on and off modes, not turning on or off or not responding to any hard presses and then magically resolving the issues itself after waiting a bit and then malfunctioning all over again, it also accidentally fired 4000 lumens in my eye, when I was furiously pressing the damn thing to turn it off when it stayed stuck on modes.
    I never want to have it do that to me again and it has shown me right out of the box that I cannot trust it at all.
    Sometimes it gives me the 4000 lumens brightness for a split second when trying to turn it on or off.
    You commenters will probably say "press it hard once, QUICKLY then" and you'd be right, but my god, is it dangerous when you are just a little too slow or casual, standing next to a white wall...
    When you're in the dark and for example just shining it on a body of water, that is potentially blinding to the eyes and totally pointless. What sofirn does with the double tab is much better and safer.
    What a dangerous, untrustworthy piece of crap.
    I had such high hopes and it failed me.
    I will return it promptly.
    Greetings from the Netherlands
